This little bastards got my vote for the next prime minister and I would personly like to say "FUCK YOU" to John Keys....For screwing us all, this badly.
I download music and video's all the time, When it comes to music the only people who lose out are the companies that rip off music artists. I would rather send an artist 20 bucks then buy their CD, video has a lot more too it, when I download it's usually is pretty bad quality and its normally just to see if its good or not. if it is good ill buy it on DVD, if it isn't good ill say fuck it they don't deserve money, but greedy businesses will still claim they lost money off of what I downloaded
fuck u u fags all they want is more money u no they try make it better for not downloading music movies games etc.. people the make this stuff dont give a shit as long as they get paid which they do they are happy
He talks a good game but I don't think people realise that this twat wants to have a penalty system on Internet usage. That is worse than out right banning. They are going make more money from us than what they are already getting.
@chris88507 Why is that worse than banning? I personally don't care about them getting money from us if it can be justified. So if you ignore the fact that the government gets the money, why is a penalty system worse than banning?
@cagedbudgie Let me put it this way, both options are un-acceptable. There are many pros to the internet, a couple being that we can connect and share. I'm sorry but your logic is to blame for us having to pay for the internet. The internet was free, untill we were told that we had to start paying for it. Wikipedia: history of the internet - This politician is smart, business smart 'don't take the privilidge away, make them pay for it'. Money at your expense.
@chris88507 Ok I may have an incorrect idea about how this all works. My idea was:
"The internet was free, and still is for anyone to set up a server. Since it's so complicated to set up a method of tapping into the internet (too complicated for people like me that can't do programming) and so we pay people for them setting up the connection methods through the phone lines."
@phoenix9909 "amendment" is a perfectly good word in the English language and used worldwide. Why it would trigger an association with US in your mind is only a matter of wonder.
@mkgrnwlt well, in school we only learn about American government in depth, so i honestly have no knowledge on any other government's structure, unless it's really basic, for example, Cuba is communist, Japan is a democracy, i have no knowledge of how laws are added how any other government is set in terms of senate (if it has one), representatives and so forth. so when i read "amendment" i thought of an addition of an amendment in the United States, like i said, stupid question on my part
@phoenix9909 fair question mate, but yeah it's just for NZ, corruption doing its thing pushing laws like this under urgency when the whole point of urgency is to pass laws quickly for the christchurch earthquake relief effort
downloading nz music and movies? i am sure that it is so small that it won't affect them at all. such a stupid this bill. i am sure it will fail badly.
@GloriousKOC personally i don't think it is going to work, there are hundreds of thousands of people in nz that are doing this right now. if they do enforce it to the letter and it does go to court, it is going to make the court systems even longer than they actually are. i am against this bill.
@frostnz exactly. just like the war on drugs this will not work. they will be spending countless millions to enforce this instead of enforcing things that matter like murders and rapes. if they really want to stop copyright piracy then what they need to do is spend that millions on a nation wide data base of all the movies, tv shows, documentarys and all other digital material that can be stored. i think this is going to turn into another avenue for gangs to get rich off. prohabition loves gangs
If the Green Party had more reasonable voices like Gareth, and less batshit crazies like Catherine Delahunty, then they would probably get more votes than Labour.
Its a total disgrace that ANY gov should try and slip through such an ill thought out and obnoxious law at a time when they should be concentrating on the lives and well being of the residents of the country's 2nd city which currently lays in ruins.
I sincerely hope that the citizens of NZ remember this act of betrayal of its citizens over corporate greed at the ballot box
@ Cosmic Jellyish: You are so right! No mature debate and I can only assume that the gene pool is too small in NZ, resulting in congenital stupidity becoming endemic.
2:50 - I love how NZ Partliament is just a bunch of schoolkids in a playground. This guy looks like he's not much older than 25 and there's some douchebag heckling him. How is this allowed in a democratic system? Idiots like that should be thrown out for verbal abuse.
People are going to find ways around it, so I doubt this law will work. I think they enforced the same law in france and found that piracy actually increased
Probably the most well-spoken person I've heard regarding this issue. This still won't make me vote for the greens, but it at least opens my eyes that maybe some rational people do actually support the greens.
I think the bill is ridiculous, but the Greens are completely hypocritical if they claim to be in support of individual freedom, they are the BIGGEST supporters of big government.
Oh yeah, the fact that the greens want to control every other aspect of everyone's lifes, what car one drives, what transport one takes, what forms of energy one uses to heat one's home, what kinds of food one use, the greens are biggest social engineers and fascists to every set foot in new zealand parliament, I'm not wasting a vote on the party of eco-fascist hypocrites.
@AtheistTower They are a ecological political party. Obviously they are going to try to invest in energy efficiency in its various forms, that's almost exclusively what their voters are interested in. But investing in public transport and clean energy is not exactly controlling anyone's choices - it's giving people _more_ choice. I don't see any hypocrisy here.
Rubbish, instead of allowing scientists and innovators to come up with proper solutions they attack them and use the state to enforce economy-crippling and dictatorial laws. They have no right to tell people how to live their lives. I'm a scientist myself, and I find the greens are the biggest opponents of any research I do which could ultimately lead to renewable forms of energy.
@AtheistTower Well, for a scientist you're coming up with a lot of fallacies, the most recent being an appeal to your own authority. Cite some examples.
And as for having a "right to tell people how to live their lives", they have as much right to do that as any other political party. Our entire civilisation is built on laws which restrict us and stop us killing each other. Get off your soap box.
@nickspoon "And as for having a right to tell people how to live their lives, they have as much right to do that as any other political party." The smallest minority is 1, meaning an individual. No one has the right to tell you how to live your life, especially the Green Party. If you think this, you are sorely mislead.
@AtheistTower "I'm a scientist myself"? Ha, well I'm a genius and you're an idiot. Economists don't count as scientists you dirty hypocrite. It makes no sense that you'd oppose the Greens supporting public transport and renewable energy if you're researching that issue yourself. Unless, of course, you're wanting legislation to wait until your so called "research that [could] ultimately lead to renewable forms of energy" eventuates, which makes you a greedy capitalist. Back up your claims fool.
You seem to be online an awful lot, I guess living on the dole and supporting socialism leads to a lot of spare time. Oh I never had a problem with public transport, just the part where the Greens attempt to control the choice people make with transport. What is greedy about freedom of choice? The only greedy individuals here are you lot which try have legislate theft (and in this case defend it) to greedily take money from those who work their asses off. Get a job.
@AtheistTower I seem to be online a lot...? I'm not the one with four comments on this one video in the last 24 hours dude. Nice assumptions though, I actually hold down 3 jobs (maths tutoring, rehabilitating intellectually disabled criminals & mentoring youth sex offenders) while studying fulltime...I'm sure you do a lot for society writing hypocritcal rants on youtube & conducting your "research" though. I have work to do so am going to leave & let your hilarious comments speak for themselves.
@AtheistTower well said, the greens have a very silly idea on energy. but that works for nz cause of the simple fact that most of us are fucknig idiots. the greens have power from other no good hippies who think hybrid cars are the way of the future, from the placid stoners who just dont want to be criminals for sitting in their own homes doing somthing in their own time. ps i love your name. atheism needs to be promoted
@AtheistTower Finally someone who is not deceived by the Greens. I could not agree with you more. If people have any sense of what freedom is, they would know that the Greens are trying to take this freedom from them. Their trying to tell people how to live their lives, which should be the individuals, themselves, making these choices. People are like sheep these days- they need someone to follow and tell them what they can and can't do, instead of having a mind of their own.
