Thank you for clarifying. Hopefully I'll be able to find where its details were descibed. I literally bought this game after seeing these videos. I'm up to Diaspola so far.
@1red2blue4 Actually, you were right all along, now that I looked back myself. I've explained what alignment does, but I never actually talked about how it affects liberation (and the rep bar) yet. I must have been under the false impression that I did because one could possibly gather this information from my gameplay actions alone.
Regardless of that, an in-video explanation is in order, and I'll handle that in the next OB video. Thanks for spotting this little omission of mine. ;)
@1red2blue4 Hmm? I've definitely covered the basics of that. Regardless, I'll help.
Whenever you get a story choice, generally make the choices I make, since they're usually the "good choices". Most importantly, though, you have to liberate cities with units that have characters that have alignments over 50.
Only make these units liberate cities. Temples don't affect rep (not counting the Tarot draw, which is optional and can raise OR lower rep), so they're fair game for anyone to liberate.
Even if you throw away the card, the draw effect won't go away. Also, all tarot cards have a helpful effect when used in battle, even "evil" cards like Tower.
I for one welcome our new pasta overlord.

How does the system of gaining/losing reputation work? I can't find it anywhere in the videos and I'm down to somewhere around 10-20 Reputation.
