  • i bet that alot of crooks dont like this vid :D

  • I saw a few of those bars sans speaker grille and all blue domes in 'Smokey and the Bandit'

seems like from what I know the production crew would repaint all the cars to represent the different state police departments.

  • Great bar, thanks for the vid!

  • how much for it?

  • how much

  • that thing is old it looks like the same one we have on one of our fire trucks

  • correction it is i checked

  • very nice lightbar

  • It would look much Cooler if the Bulbs rotated faster.

  • @Ultraussie it was only made for 80RPM rotators, plus 3-step cascade mirrors, with one each on both sides, adding up to 640 FPM.

  • @nerdlydood

Ummm.... I can understand what your saying but hell I have no idea what your going on about. English?

  • @Ultraussie I saw it in a catalog that someone had put in their scanner and put online. It had two synchronized rotators, each producing 80 FPM individually. In addition it had a pair of three-step cascade mirrors, one on each side. The mirrors would add each add 3 flashes for each 1 flash of the rotator on that side. That all adds up to 640 FPM.

  • nice bar

  • CHIP's!

  • Close... but not CHiP's (CHP) used a CTS twinsonic, with a red steady burn and an amber flasher

  • how much for the light bar???

  • Comment removed

  • how much??

  • 250 plus shiping

  • super high FPM.. lol

  • yea dude. im amazed how fast it is

  • the full Cascade mirror was mainly used for units where the back of the bar would be blocked, such as by hose reels on fire trucks, or on the cab of an ambulance. in my department we have 2 red/red bars with full cascades, where blockage behind is the case

  • How many amps does it pull?

  • Oh, I forgot to mention, I also have the 100 watt version, of the Federal (Atlas Sound), big chrome reflex trumpet speaker "Adam 12" style horn, which is also in fantastic condition. I had it mounted in front of the Twinsonic, atop my red '72 Chevy LUV mini pick-up, until I removed both the chrome speaker, and the Twinsonic, in order to rebuild the truck. Anyone have any spare Federal stuff they might consider parting with, let me know !!

  • I've got the CTS-12,AKA the(California Special),which is the unit the California Highway Patrol used back in the 70's.

Although my unit is all amber. It has the front left take-down, the left rear flashing trafic hazard, and in the center, I have it loaded, with two 100 watt Atlas Sound mini reflex-trumpet speakers. I purchased my unit new, back in the mid 70's, it was still in use upto around 2000, and it's in fantastic condition, not for sale !!

  • the twinsonic was the first sealed light bar. Ive got one, with amber lenses mounted to my truck. Beutiful bar.

  • ha old school

  • i have that lightbar

  • i think i have that lightbar

  • That is the bigest bar i have seen!!! whow old is that?

  • that bar was known as a 'flying blick' because it was able to shave 5-10 miles per hour off of just about any vehicle that it was mounted on..

  • Is that stock everything?

  • YES .. orgional stock

  • I got one of those also. only it has red lenses on both ends. They are nice.

  • if it`s for sale how much you want for?

  • Cool light bar from Squad 51 if both lenses were red. From TV Show Emergency!

  • Don't forget the Red/Amber combo in the lightbar that sits on the driver's side of the lightbar ;)

  • OMG Old Califonia Light bar, like from in CHiPs

  • Do you still sell it ?

  • Yes.. Still for sale

  • Reminds me of the lightbars that are on top of the police cars in the Dukes of Hazzard.

  • NOT even close to the dukes of hazzard Aerodynic.

  • Don't forget Hazzard County had the Code 3 bars in the episode with Roscoe's Rolls Royce police car.The episode called happy birthday General Lee,Roscoe had a bar similar to the ones on the Smokey and the Bandit movies.

  • know those things called LED's there tight.

  • thhat bar used sealed beam lamps that looked like individual headlights used in cars from the early days to about 1977 or so...

LED's or light emitting diodes weren't even a concept for another 40 years...

  • whoa, cool mirrors.
