Hey man I just got my 512 in today from a website called Rrages and I've looking at it and the reticle is really blurry and really grainy sometimes, but at sometimes it's crystal clear. What do you think I should do?

You can`t feel it over the internet (how the buttons feel) - got me smiling :) I`d recommend the bigger one, barely higher cost (some cents only) and you can use AAA batteries, no need to scout for those specific little ones.....

@TheyxSeexMexTrollin I wish I could help ya, but I bought my clone from dealextreme and they have since quit selling these for legal reasons. If you want one, your best bet is to check out a local gun and knife show. They almost always have somebody selling these red dots.
@TheyxSeexMexTrollin im sure itd be fine for a 22 but saiga 12? but on your 22 wouldnt you want a smaller dot? maybe a 25 mm tube. i know of a lot of people putting clones on 22s. interested to see how it holds up

I have the real 552 and have had it since 2006, it came in the same kind of box this knockoff comes in. Even worse in fact, just styrofoam and 2 batteries stuffed into the styro.
I would consider this, cases of the real ACOG's are being shipped to the sandbox everyday, when they fall off a truck, where do they go, the lost and found? Dont condemn something as fake based on price, background story or packaging, get an educated person to look at it.
I got the knock off of the eotech 553 off of ebay and it is a pile of shit. It seemed to be ok for 2 mags then the recoil started to turn the sight off. Some rainy day i might try to improve the bat. contacts. I didnt have any hope of it working but it would of been sweet if it did. Needless to say i put my ACOG back on.
@hdmfba GG&G is a good store with great products. I bought my EoTech 516 from there, Only Downside is... it took them 3 1/2 months to ship it to me. I live in CA and they are out of AZ. I don't know why it took so damn long. But just a heads up. But if you want Good Optics with Great Top of the Line Mounts check out LaRue Tactical. They have everything you need and nothing that you don't.
@blueray301 It's perfect for airsoft, but I'd never put a clone optic on a real rifle that I would depend on to save my life. There's simply no comparison.

I have an eotech 516 and I love it. I must say however if you know your buying a knock off and your on a buget that is a pretty nice sight for the price of 50-100bucks. If I had say an AR chammbered in 22LR i would think about using it. But it is definetly not a real eotech though but hey its better than a lot of the cheap ass sights out there.
Hey, good video, mate! I completely agree with what you said here, Real-o-techs are a lot stronger and do have quite a few advantages over the clones, I think the clone would probably lose zero quickly and couldn't deal with the shock of recoil from a real rifle... I use a clone for my Airsoft gun, it works great for $45, and as I don't have to put it through as harsh conditions as a real gun would generally go through, a real one would be absolute overkill in this circumstance.
I believe the lenses on the fake are in a different place on the housing than the real one. The fakes have a mirrored finish as well. Good vid,,,,thanks
well i will say this, the "knock offs" are not intended for real firearm use. now granted the knockoff you used there just flat out sucked but a lot of the $80-$100 are mean't for airsoft guns. the red/green is meant to simulate NV. Airsoft rifles for those of you who don't know are not as accurate as a real fire arm. That is why the quality is lower, airsoft is not super accurate in general, and there is no recoil to knock off the zero. Just thought I'd mention that.

@jmborge No, I sold the fake eotech a few days after I received it. During the time that the fake one was shipping from China I found a decent price on a real one and bought it. Therefore I had no use for the knockoff. Never got a chance to shoot with it

@krazyk86cu if I'm not mistaken don't real EOtechs reticle stay in the same spot no matter what angle you look at it hence the "holographic"...I kinda think u may have gotten a really good nock off....
@aceshot4095 No, the reticle moves within the window based on the position of you eyes and the angle you are looking through it. The reticle stays on target but it does move within the window. You may be thinking of eye relief. On regular scopes you have to look through it from the same position (or pretty close) to get max accuracy. The EOTech doesn't require you to be in the same position. As long as you see the reticle, no matter your position it will be on target.
ive got to warn everyone about these knockoffs. i do own 2 real eotechs and my son bought one of these knockoffs for airsoft purposes. they dont take to abuse kindly. while in a game my son lost his footing while sprinting and ended up slamming into a tree. this impact, although he didnt directly impact the sight, ended up absolutely shattering the user-side glass panel. to me this screams its not water tight and that it wont withstand a rifle's recoil for long
What I want to know, is if it will hold, and if its water resistant. Too me, that makes it like a HEAVILY armored BSA, which is fine for some of my applications. I bought the same fake, by the way, and it looks great, but when it comes to guns or parachutes, Do Not bargain hunt. Any gun or gear of mine that might get "time" has to be the best of the best+. well the thing is, i'd like to send my kids to college so spending 400-700 bucks on a sight when you can get the "knock off" for 350-650 bucks less....i'd think i'd go with the knock off....to be honest, i can see how the real eotech is better...but not 350 bucks better

well first the real ones can be bought at basspro and their website and opsgear the fake ones can be bought at places that arent big like chinese manufactures

I am not sure but I think that EBay has banned him from selling in the future. I played hell but finally got my money back through EBay Buyer Protection. I was out $19.00 return shipping and then EBay gave me a "coupon" good for $10 on future purchase. Still out $9.00 but I guess that in the long run I got by cheap. It was a $9 lesson.
There is a company called LDM (Laser Defense Mfg) that makes very high quality knock off products including the eotech 552..They also make a very high quality version of surfires m900a vertical assist/flashlight as well as Laser Devices DBAL..All of these are priced to less than 1/3 the cost of the real thing, but in my opinion are just as good. Not everyone has $2000 to spend on a laser, or 600 to spend on a flashlight or sight...I was a huge skeptic until I got to check one out.

Thanks to your video I just found out that the EOTech that bought on EBay is a knock-off. Got the fake the other day and couldn't figure out why I could not find a photo on the EOTech website that showed the model that I recieved. The quick detach of the knock-off doesn't match any photos on the EOTech site.

I have a type of eotech replica on my ar 15, It's made by IJK optics, similar to the eotech knock off but cost me 130 bux. It doesnt dissapear either on the bottom. Ill try and post a vid responce thingy..
Listen, the diff is night n day. The only thing the fake one has on the eotech is they cosmetically look the same. THATS IT! For those of u that look thru both of them and cant tell a difference are BLIND! The reticle is insanely more clear and brighter. When you look thru an eotech it looks as though the reticle is on the target as oppose to knockoffs that look like the reticle is 2 inches from your face. Dont get me started on construction. If you rely on your weapon get eotech hands down.

And the leotech is not water proof only resistant meaning rain its fine. @winkdogydog101 It's not just feel. The EOTech uses an actual laser where as the clone uses an LED. Also, like in the video, the reticule doesn't actually show up over the entire opening of the glass.

@krazyk86cu if I'm not mistaken don't real EOtechs reticle stay in the same spot no matter what angle you look at it hence the "holographic"...I kinda think u may have gotten a really good nock off....

@aceshot4095 No, the reticle moves within the window based on the position of you eyes and the angle you are looking through it. The reticle stays on target but it does move within the window. You may be thinking of eye relief. On regular scopes you have to look through it from the same position (or pretty close) to get max accuracy. The EOTech doesn't require you to be in the same position. As long as you see the reticle, no matter your position it will be on target.

ive got to warn everyone about these knockoffs. i do own 2 real eotechs and my son bought one of these knockoffs for airsoft purposes. they dont take to abuse kindly. while in a game my son lost his footing while sprinting and ended up slamming into a tree. this impact, although he didnt directly impact the sight, ended up absolutely shattering the user-side glass panel. to me this screams its not water tight and that it wont withstand a rifle's recoil for long

What I want to know, is if it will hold, and if its water resistant. Too me, that makes it like a HEAVILY armored BSA, which is fine for some of my applications. I bought the same fake, by the way, and it looks great, but when it comes to guns or parachutes, Do Not bargain hunt. Any gun or gear of mine that might get "time" has to be the best of the best+. well the thing is, i'd like to send my kids to college so spending 400-700 bucks on a sight when you can get the "knock off" for 350-650 bucks less....i'd think i'd go with the knock off....to be honest, i can see how the real eotech is better...but not 350 bucks better

I was out $19.00 return shipping and then EBay gave me a "coupon" good for $10 on future purchase. Still out $9.00 but I guess that in the long run I got by cheap. It was a $9 lesson.

There is a company called LDM (Laser Defense Mfg) that makes very high quality knock off products including the eotech 552..They also make a very high quality version of surfires m900a vertical assist/flashlight as well as Laser Devices DBAL..All of these are priced to less than 1/3 the cost of the real thing, but in my opinion are just as good. Not everyone has $2000 to spend on a laser, or 600 to spend on a flashlight or sight...I was a huge skeptic until I got to check one out.

Thanks to your video I just found out that the EOTech that bought on EBay is a knock-off. Got the fake the other day and couldn't figure out why I could not find a photo on the EOTech website that showed the model that I recieved. The quick detach of the knock-off doesn't match any photos on the EOTech site.
Just finished sending the seller a message on EBay and filing a complaint on EBay. I definitly got ripped off.

I have a type of eotech replica on my ar 15, It's made by IJK optics, similar to the eotech knock off but cost me 130 bux. It doesnt dissapear either on the bottom. Ill try and post a vid responce thingy..

Listen, the diff is night n day. The only thing the fake one has on the eotech is they cosmetically look the same. THATS IT! For those of u that look thru both of them and cant tell a difference are BLIND! The reticle is insanely more clear and brighter. When you look thru an eotech it looks as though the reticle is on the target as oppose to knockoffs that look like the reticle is 2 inches from your face. Dont get me started on construction. If you rely on your weapon get eotech hands down.

ill let you know from using both and owning eotech and leotech. The only difference is that the eotech is fully water proof up to i bleieve 25 meters. And the leotech is not water proof only resistant meaning rain its fine. My friend got the leotech a while back and there really dont see what your talking about they are a really close knock off if all your talking about is feel and sturdyness when there is a 400 difference next ar build im going leotech. Also im really not gunna take my ar swim

@winkdogydog101 It's not just feel. The EOTech uses an actual laser where as the clone uses an LED. Also, like in the video, the reticule doesn't actually show up over the entire opening of the glass.
