It can't be too hard, all you have to do is character designs, plot, actions, dimensions, graphical features, create stages, create and design power-ups, how to become Super (Hyper if you so wish) Sonic, how to get emeralds, how the game will know when certain conditions are met, and much, much more I don't know about making a kick-ass game. The fans are on drugs thinking Sonic was bad for doing something different from simplistic, aimless running at high speeds. I mean the speed thing is fun, but having that only in a game gets shallow and repetitive, and level gimmicks don't cut it.

Why's it shitty if Sonic does something other than speed. A video game fraanchise like this is not so simple. I play Sonic games because I enjoy them, but they were undeniably the best when they had new innovations in each game and never let the speed-only thing get to them. Sonic runs fast. But that's not the only thing he does. There's a lot more to it than that in the games. Otherwise, it'd be shallow. And why should I have to play a different game when I can get variety in the same series?

I've loved pretty much all of the sonic games and I'm glad that they change the plot everytime otherwise it would get boring fast. To me, Sonic gaining new powers, adventures, enemies, allies ect. is enjoyable and adds new ideas to be used for future games. I'm with ya 100% of the way on this. Without change, Sonic would die.

Actually, there's a minority like us scarcely around a few YT videos. "Sure the old games were great but why mae more like them if they already exist?" EXACTLY! What's the point of making more than a few remakes (depending on the formula, 3-5 times of making the same game is good enough when starting out a series) when Sonic can do far more? His new adventures, character development, gameplay, etc are what make him great. Variety is what makes Sonic so appealing. Always something new and fun.

Sega even made it possible for players to transform into Super Sonic midway through a level again. And they even went out of their way to continue on from a story that supposedly ended 16 years ago. Sega are capable of producing great and fun Sonic games like they have been for 19 years, and they always will be as long as they keep adding change and development.

SEGA will keep innovating Sonic sooner or later because that's what they've wanted all along. What SEGA needs is, oddly enough, the reviewing sites to have their staff changed to more open-minded who will accept new ideas. Sonic's never sucked and I'm glad to find someone else who realizes that. :)

Hopefully many others will aswell. My only hope is that SEGA will keep at it so my kids (assuming that I'll have some) can grow up with the same awesome franchise as I did. ^.^

But if SEGA does go retro like it has, I'm sure 20 years from now kids who grew up with Black Knight, Unleashed and others will bring the series back to evolving and being great. Also, just out of curiosity, what's your favorite Wisp? Mine's Frenzy.

It takes away a few of the things I loved about Sonic: More core gimmicks (Wisps almost cut it, though), Super Sonic Ending (DS don't cut it for me) and more character development/deeper story.
