Yes cows do produce more methane than people..thanks for making that point..btw..thats the number one reason they are tearing the rainforest down..to graze cheap cattle..cows...they they are raising WAY more cows than are naturally supposed to even be on earth...they are producing sooo much methane that it is another factor in the holes in our ozone...combined with the oxygen producing cabon dioxide aborbing trees they are knocking down every day...hundreds of acres.Its all a part of the problem

I spent my EarthHour by taking a walk, during that time, with the light off and everything, in my house.

Unfortuneately some of the stores and cafes kept their lights on.

As I passed a Subway, I wondered if I should have a coffee, since power was being used anyway. By not having the coffee, I thought I was letting power be wasted. I did not have one.

Myself, at 8PM that night I turned off the main breaker for my house, went and sat on the patio, and practiced on my guitar. Three hours later I noticed that the hour was up...

What a joke. Does anyone really think one hour makes a difference? The faster we use up the fossil fuels, the better off the earth will be. Until the oil is gone, there will never be a real, viable form of alternative energy...so your little one hour game is only postponing the inevitable.

One problem: when you are burning wax candles (a hydrocarbon), you are actually producing carbon dioxide (wax + oxygen = water + CO2). What's the impact of candles versus lightbulbs? And we should always turn off unnecessary lighting & appliances, not just on Earth Day.
