Anybody with the same noise problems when recording with the mic and the integrtated sound card? Even when I mute the mic, there is noise! ... I'm under windows 7, using mainly Audacity and other software. Under Win XP on my laptop there is a crackling, but no noise... There is no firmware upgrade available. Don't know what to do. Or is it normal to have a steady noise (like trees murmur) in the background? Maybe I'm expecting too much: I'd like to have it dead-silent!
@diffusedlight This headset has a common impedance of 32 ohms, which means that pretty much anything will be able to drive this headset with sufficient volume. I don't have this exact model; I have the PC 151 which has a similar impedance and it is loud enough that I can keep my computer's volume at 20% volume using onboard audio. I suggest you purchase a headphone amp or a sound card as whatever you have these plugged into somehow lacks the ability to drive the headset effectively.
Seriously, if I knew how quiet they would have been I would have bought something else. No matter how much I throw at it, the volume comes out only 70% the volume I'd want to listen to, so I find it's always on max volume, and never loud enough.
When I spend £65 on a set of headphones, I take it for granted it will be capable of a powerful output. Heck headphones a quarter of the price can get twice as loud.
After tweaking everything that can be tweaked the volume is inappropriately low when using USB adapter to listen to music pleasurably.
I had to return the headsets to the retailer and lose $20 attributed to re-stocking fees. I did inform Sennheiset regarding the deceptive information and they really have ducked the issue.
This is a great headset, its USB so no matter what computer you use it on the sound will be the same, THey are also very durable and comfortable, My pair lasted 4 years and the mic/headphones were flawless until the left ear went out then the mic at about 4 years after the purchase, very good but I recommend the new PC350's
Also this guy didn't review these properly, they are NOT noise cancelling headphones. The MIC is the only thing that is noise cancelling. He also pronounces the name wrong, its not Sun-heiser. The cord is not 5 feet but is 2 inches under 10 feet (3 meters to be exact). Know your shit before you review.
get these, you can get a deal as well that comes with BF2 or Assassins Creed but AC isn't the usb model. If you can afford it, get the PC 350, its well worth the money, either of the two are. I own this exact pair and they are great, clean sound, noice cancelling mic and they don't need drivers (they use the microsoft windows drivers). Just becareful where you order from, ebay has a shitload of knockoffs. Make sure the dealer is an authorized one.
Can u recommend something with Noise-Canceling, like Jawbone but with wire, so dont need to worry about Battery life & can work on both, PC & Cell phones
Prefer only on one ear, dont like the Big cockpit something to carry around easy
Dude get the Tritton ax120, it's very good for PC and has a cable much longer than 5ft

They are awesome except they don't get loud enough. I emailed Senheisser about this issue and they never replied. Always a good sign!
If you're going to spend too much money on headphones, at least get something that gets loud enough.

Seriously, it isn't the headsets fault. I'm wearing a pair of these right now and I can like destroy my ears if I max the volume..
AndreasFehrm 1 year ago
they're supposed to be headphones, not speakers :p
i think as long as you can hear them in your own room while wearing them they're loud enough

Hang on a moment- I own a pair of these, and you don't mention that you do. I'll assume that you don't.
Please kindly stfu.

Trust me you're not alone. I'm not sure how you can accidentally make expensive headphones which can't get loud enough, but apparently it's possible.

I'll be returning mine as well due to the low volume issue.
A total deal breaker. What a huge disappointment.

Why do you say this for ebay? You imply that the Sennheisers there are not original. What are your sources?

Would have been more useful if he had recorded the sound through the headset mic so we could hear how good that is.

It's a German brand, and therefore pronounced as zenn-high-zer.

The USB add-on has a built in sound card or chip too. So that should add some quality.
