I think the postings are getting out of hand. This is a great piece of music and was performed in front of His Holiness. It isn't about the Pope personally, it is about patriotism. Calling names is unhelpful and never something Pope John Paul would have approved of.
Why do you hear "Paul" instead of "Polie", an idiot? "Polie" - a "field" in Russian. Author, you should kill yourself. You should quickly run up and hit his head against the wall.

How Dare you Soviet Pigs even raise your voices to a Polish Pope? I hope you all die in your Pig Feces in Russia like the Peasant Communist Swine that you are...stay out our Country...you killed 2 million of us in WWII and you started the War by giving Hitler the room, arms and encouragement to get started you have more Polish blood on your hands than any nation in History...go Die you Sovier Pigs!
@tskonieczka Well as you see they didnt dare it, they were invited by the Pope himslef to sing in front of him in Vatican, and also the Pope in personal listened to the red army choir.
Do you know, people? When Pope John Paul II was a young priest back in the 50's, he was daily bothered by the communists and had to hide to celebrate the mass. To me, by inviting the Red Army Choir, he gave us a keynote lesson about what forgiveness is.

no, I see it too. the communists fought kind of a war against religious movements to prevent religions to become a opposition. remember che? giving your live for for socialism cant prevent you from being exploited by the t-shirt industry
@FrostPegasus ... not if you consider that the post-Vatican II anti-popes did away with any need to convert to the Catholic faith and promoted false ecumenism, a false invalid mass and priesthood... exactly what the commies wanted

Love the Crusade going on here- Catholicism vs Atheism (I think). Especially since the song is about killing Fascists (in one war, at least), which Catholicism looks a lot like, considering RussianPeace1 called BlackRock a "motherfucking communist jew".
The Eastern Orthodox religion is based off of Christianity, which Catholicism was as well. So in a way, it is, but also isn't.
I'm not mixing anything up. The song's lyrics are about killing enemies of the Red Army (there's a line in there that says "Ekh da KRASNOY ARMII geroi"), therefore enemies of the "Communist system" (which really wasn't Communist), which were referred to as Fascists or Capitalists (both of which are on the Conservative side of the political spectrum).
And considering all wars are over a difference in opinion (superiority of a belief over another = Fascism), you see the irony in the comments, correct?
Eastern Orthodoxy, the oldest christian faith of all, is based off of christianity? Which planet do you call your home??
Or let me guess, you're some kind of US-Neoprotestant such as a mormon, calvinist, baptist, presbyterian, seven-day adventist, Jehovah's Witness, universalist, .... ... ...
I can't help but find it at least a bit ironic that they sing this song- which was written in the early days of Communism in Russia, and was inspired by it- as a tribute to Pope John Paul II, who worked for a good part of his life to try and defeat communism.
you need help. you're schizophrenic. and the scariest part is that you believe the bullshit you say. you're floating in your own world. and also i must say, I'm not trying to offend you. I'm hardcore serious. get a professional help.

It is Polyushka Polye, not a tribute to the Pope.

It wasn't tribute to pope!
He invited our choir to perform in Vatican by himself. He was big fan of the choir.

I think Orthodoxy would be the better choice and that's not Atheism at all ;-)

The entire WORLD is SAD that such a great, good and wise MAN died!
Why is Russia any different?
He was Polish! He was Slavic origins.
He had the same DNA as many Russians.
EVERYONE IN THE WORLD COULD RESPECT THE LATE POPE BECAUSE HE TRIED TO SHOW US THAT WE WERE ALL HUMAN BEINGS!
IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE MAN, NOT RELIGION!
joeocho88 4 years ago 23
Catholic Pope was Slavic when in same time. our Orthodox Russian pope was Swedish Scandinavian.
RussianBoxer84 2 years ago
YEah it shows you Poland is more patriotic Slavic nation. It has most Slavs percentage wise. Russia has more population wise.
