Why was the rocket so long? If it only needed a 24mm motor mount, why didn't they just design it as a minimal diameter rocket and just make it long renough to stay stable. Seince it isn't a scale model, and it is just going for altitude, why didn't they design it that way?
Sweet! I'm working on a similar rocket, scratch built though. It closely resembles the Aspire though. And I followed some of the suggestions in the technical publication on how to make it survive flight!

It is a 29mm minimun diameter rocket. The motor and the rocket are 29mm. I did not design it. It is a kit from apogee rocketry.
