  • Nice to see a RBC in action! I just purchased a RBC-1 and a RBC-2 with power supplies and speakers for a ridiculously low price, and they work! They need some alignment and tweaking, but in they're in fair physical condition. I've been wondering if I should do any painting of chips/scratches or if they should be left in original condition.

  • I happen to be in the possession of an RBH-1 in working order with the navy ID plates still on it.

Would you have any idea on how to verify it's use on board ship?

    Thanks and great video!

  • This is so cool!! I'm so glad to see some life being put back into this great ship and museum.

  • This is cool, could have almost past as then, except for the hat...It's dead give--away.

  • To Cool!!

  • Wow! Thanks for posting this video. I've been three, in Radio II, a long time ago. I was very young, and I don't remember much of it. But I do remember that the guy there opened up one of the transmitters and showed me the vacuum tubes inside, and we listened to some code. I don't remember the circumstances, how we were able to get there. I'd completely forgotten, thanks for bringing those memories back.

  • Although I used email fax and telex when im still working onboard ship, I miss sending and receiving morse almost 10 years now, CW is still on my mind, i can receive and sending its still there.

  • I haven't operated code in 10 years but it sounded like one of the stations is N1EPL I think... really cool to stumble on to this video.

  • This is cool beyond belief. Big Mamie is ALIVE!!!!

  • WOW, I haven't seen a TBM since 1965! It was built like a tank and had an 861 in the final, about 200 watts output.

  • That's in Radio II! Fantastic you were able to get down there. I volunteer aboard her occasionally and have been down there a few times.

  • This makes me think of my father, who was a Chief Radioman in WW2 and operated the same equipment. Thanks so much for making this video available. 73, Dave, W6YTG.

  • Thanks for checking in, Dave. What ship(s) did your father serve on?
