  • FOR 5'5 HOLLIDAY IS FAST AS HELL

  • amazing, bob hayes ran 10.05 47 yrs ago to win the gold medal in the 64 olympics 100m(ON DIRT TRACK)all these guys today with modern equipment and on modern

surface tracks running right at what hayes ran on cinder. fastest football player of all time bob hayes, i can imagine what he would have run the 100meters on todays surfaces.

  • hella good quality

  • please stop putting in who wins the race in such a difficult to avoid place when i click on the link. i like the suspense

  • i ran a 10.9 this year as a freshman but i have been having so many injuries i might not be able to qualify for the minnesota state meet

  • no.

  • richard mash dem up!!! ha! don't hate cause we won!

  • my lil dawg bradley sylve ran a 10.58 as a freshmen and ran a 10.30 as a sophmore now its his junior yr. yall watch out for da next lsu star in track and football he also plays football he da fastest person in high school in louisiana her from PORT SULPHUR, LOUISIANA

  • naw my boy, Brandon Stewart is one of the fastest ppl in the south, hes 15 and he qualified to run in Italy for the junior Olympics, this past summer. he didnt go though. Shreveport la

  • Yeah ur right ur dude might be one of the fastest in the state n i dont knock him or nuthing but as of right now Bradley Sylve is the fastest in the state of louisiana he qualified for the italy olympics..jus look him up on google

  • i ran 9.98 this year, PA 100m CHAMP!

  • high school isnt lazer timed...so they arent even exact times its like the average of 3 idiots with fucking stop watches....so you cant even take those into consideration when comparing to olympic or college times...

  • well I dont know where your from, but in Florida they use laser timing.

  • i ran 11.3 as a freshman, 11.7 in 8th grade, 13.0 in 7th.........sophomore year 10.8?

  • I'd be surprised if u didnt run faster than 10.8 ur sophomore year. my freshman year i was at 11.7, my sophomore year i was at 10.8 and 10.9. just train smart!

  • are you white?

  • @NorthernMoose yeah but that doesn't really matter

  • yes it does. There has only ever been one white man that ran under 10 and he ran a 9.999 which they rounded up to 10 anyways.

  • Track isn't a "white" sport. It's not white encouraged, if that makes sense.

There aren't any great black hockey players or skiers, that doesn't mean that blacks are incapable of playing hockey or skiing. It just means it's not an encouraged sport within that demographic.

If you watch Winter Olympics, it's about 99% white. That's just because those are the sports whites go for. But physical ability has nothing to do with race.

  • I AM WHITE AND I DISAGREE WITH YOUR COMMENT. I believe that ''black'' people tend to have fast twitch muscles so they tend to be naturally faster than ''whites'' but that dose not mean that they tend to stay away from the sport. sport is about equality!!!!! not superiority!!!!! be grateful for our races differences!!!!I

    :)

  • @bionicboy11 great comment...way to have an open mind and not get into a battles of the races!

  • @bionicboy11

Black people tend to have fast twitch muscles? How does a person "tend" to have fast twitch muscles? Can you show some scientific evidence, perhaps a study, that backs your claim that blacks tend to have more fast twitchers than whites?

  • @BenjaminPipic

ok, heres the deal, people from east africa (kenya, ethiopia) tend to have more endurance than just about anyone else in the world, people from west africa (and because of the slave trade, the carribean) tend to have the best fast twitch muscles in the world, so yes, your heritage can make a huge difference in your speed, and people descendant from west africa tend to be the fastest

  • @mistergingerbreadman

Okay, I asked for a scientific explanation or a study. You saying it's so doesn't make it so.

Fast twitch muscles are required for every power sport. About 95% of notable powerlifters and strongman competitors are white and from scandinavian countries. Both powerlifting and strongman competitions are almost entirely dependent on fast twitch muscles. Why aren't there any black powerlifters or strongman record holders?

  • @BenjaminPipic

This idea that blacks tend to have the "best" fast twitch muscles is complete B.S. There is no genetic difference between blacks and whites as far as muscle fibers are concerned. If anyone thinks so, show me the science. I don't wanna hear some pseudo scientific claim like "blacks have more pure genes" or w/e.

As far as running, powerlifting, etc. is concerned, it's not that blacks have different muscles than whites. It's a cultural thing. Nothing more.

  • @BenjaminPipic actually it is proven that most jamaicans generally have longer achilles heels and the fast twitch muscle thing is true whether u wanna believe it or not

  • @TotalDistinction

What's the difference between Jamaican blacks and American blacks? There isn't any so this "study" that "Jamaicans have longer blah blah" is nonsense. The only difference is the boat that they came off of.

  • @BenjaminPipic I'm not God so I don't know, but then why do you generally (if not every time) see blacks and not whites in sprinting events. I think sprinting is a strength for blacks and not necessarily for whites. How many blacks do you see do swimming? That is mostly whites because that is their strength.

  • @TotalDistinction

Like I said earlier in my comments, it's cultural.

It's the same thing with boxing; most boxers are hispanic or black, most MMA fighters are white. It's not strength, it's black and white culture that draws individuals to certain sports.

  • @TotalDistinction I don't mean to be racist, but black people who come from slaves were bred, the strongest pair of men and women, tragically led to a more athletic afro american people. Speed is all in the genes, if you were to breed white people in the same manner for 100's of years, you would then see them able to compete in the sprints. Eg. Ivet Lalova from Bulgaria, her parents were mediocre sprinters, Ivet blazes a 10.77 faster than her fathers time! It can happen in one generation.

  • @mistergingerbreadman im from west africa 13 years old and alot of teachers see me do the 40 yard dash and beg me to join the school track team

  • @bionicboy11 dont be a damn hippie. and everyone has fast twitch muscle fibers, so you sound stupid.

  • ROFL!!!!

  • @GLT1230 how did you drop 1.3 sec in one year

  • shoot im runnin a 10.57 as a sophmore

  • proud of you! And I am being Sarcastic mother fucker!

  • god danm. i have no career in running. my fastest is 12.24 an im in 8th grade. i should just give up now. haha :D

  • im 7th and i got 12.66

  • no u shouldn't. there are high school girls who run those times as their fastest. I mean, you're only in the eighth grade. You have plenty of time to get better. i actually think that's pretty good.

  • i ran a 11.91 in 9th grade last year... but my time slacked because of injuries

  • my home boy Brandon is a freshman in high school, and he ran a 10.80! I think he may become one of the fastest in the world!

  • fool ppl in houston running 10.3s and shit fool

  • not as freshmen....

  • in texas a boy ran 10.08 in the state championchip this year. your buddy still has some work to do

  • not as a God dang freshman! we run track all over the south and hes had one of the fastest sprinters for his age in the south! and the fastest 100 meter time for any high schooler was 10.00 by Jeff Demps last year at the U.S. Olympic trials! so aint no way in hell these Texas boyz running collegiate times!!!

  • jeff demps ran 10.01 on a notoriously fast track with a back wind. he hasnt come close to that since in college

and yes, everybody in texas ran really fast. the winner who ran 10.08 wasnt even winning until the last 50 meters

if you dont believe me go on flotrack and watch the video of the texas state final

  • Man my boy Trindon took 3rd. Man he got a brite fututre just like me. I am exactly like him. I am a real fast sprinter and and good football player. Man he is my inspiration. I think he has a future in both sports. He would be a crazy return man and fast sprinter.

  • you are no holliday i can promise you that

  • dix was saving up for those olympics i guess lol

  • he was battling injuries all season, but it does seam like he saved it for the olympics haha

  • you dont save anything for the olympics when your looking to win a D-1 track tiitle

  • It had nothing to do with saving for the Olympics, Dix was battling a hamstring injury all season and as such didn't have time to train and wasn't even completely healthy in this race, hence why his start was so bad. He actually didn't even compete for the first time until about a month before the 08 NCAA championships. So he missed the majority of the outdoor season. And if you remember Richard Thompson beat Dix again in the Olympic 100m finals in Beijing.

  • oh yeah i forgot about thompson in the olympics... he is so overlook because of usain. im suprised dix was able to do as well as he did in this race now i had completely forgotten about the hamstring injury. his olympic race was great tho, every one wrote him off and was expecting a duel between usain and gay.

  • trindon holliday plays football for LSU too right?

  • yea

  • no he used too but was drafted from the team to do track and field

  • holdin it down for trinidad represent

  • lane 5 was a bit like a ben johnson start, not quite the same but near.

  • rich tohmpson is the man

  • its kept buffering

  • silver and bronze went to collegiate athletes

  • I really dont watch college track and field but what I do notice is that in olympic years the majority of the NCAA champs don't amount to anything in the trials. Take these NCAA's for example the 100m top 2 USA guys did not even make the finals it was Dix the 4th place guy who did something in the trial he made the 100 and 200. So I have come to the conclusion that while others were thinkig NCAA tittle Dix was thinking Olympics. So why do these NCAA champs "choke" in the trials?

  • Richard Thompson, the winner, is from Trinidad and he's already qualified for the Olympics.

  • I know but I was speaking in regards to USA track athletes. I dont want to come thrue as bias or impartial but I dont care much for runners in other countries only USA athletes.

  • well i don't know, i just personally think Walter Dix is the most talented collegiate runner. There is only one flaw in his race, while it is a giant flaw, and that is his start. It takes him about 30-40m before he can really get into the next gear and get that turnover going, but when he does its lights out. With more training i think he'll be a special talent. Trindon Holliday on the other hand is the exact opposite, he starts like a bullet but he doesn't have any top-end speed.

  • And now he's won the silver!

  • @jazzcyclist yup and got second. plus alot of these guys dont make the US team.

  • @jazzcyclist hey dont forget the rest of team USA that would smoke these guys.

  • one from jaimca and the other from trinidad and tobago

  • USA athletes only!

  • Its not that they choked in the olympic trials, other's think bigger.Dix(fsu)knew what he needed to do so that his team could win in the NCAA championships.Dix, comming off an injury, did enough so that his team could win and not to reinjure his hammy.Remember, dix won the 100 and 200 last year, so at this point, he is thinking olympics. Dix did not run full speed, but he needed to place at least 4th.If you look at the trial times, dix killed the other's NCAA times. Dix just played it smart.

  • This years Trial times and NCAA times cannot be compared. Are you kiddin me? The wind at the trials was rediculous. Stupid comment.

  • umm the champ here got second in the olympics what are you talking about

  • I was speaking in regards to USA athletes only. He did great I know.

  • @jaimesandoval1988 Richard Thompson came 2nd at the olympics, NCAA athletes came 2nd and 3rd....

  • @jaimesandoval1988

richard thompson, silver medal in the 100m final.

  • @jaimesandoval1988

Its true alot of college guys don't do very well in Olympic trials and the only reason I can really think of besides more pressure is that the collegiate athletes train to peak at their conference championships while the pros train to peak at those trails then again in the Olympics. It is probably to hard to switch into the pro schedule right after the college season.

  • @jaimesandoval1988 Usually they pursie other careers like football and dont train as much for track

  • Padgett is the truth but he needs to loosen up a bit. After 60 meters he tightens up and the last 20 meters he can barely move his legs. He should have qualified in the olympics if he would have relaxed and thats why that unknown at this level closed in on him and took the 3rd and final spot at the trials.

  • "Travis Padgett a complete unkown at this level..." Who is this guy giving the interview? The man needs to do his research. 2 years ago he finishes 4th as a freshman, 1 year ago he finishes 3rd as a sophomore and this year he finishes 2nd. Not too mention the kid runs a 9.89 today in the quarterfinal for the U.S. Olympic 100m team.

  • walter dix or trindon holliday should have won the race
