@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx Dunno much about the SPAS and I've never even handled one. I've shot an M4 and all I remember thinking was that it was frickin' heavy. The SPAS doesn't have a particuarly good rep generally (stamped parts, complicated, fiddly), and parts are scarce. So if you want a serious-use boomstick I vote for the M4, if those are your only choices.
@Coder06 It's not bad, actually... I'm actually right handed but shoot long guns lefty because I'm strongly left-eye dominant. I manipulate the bolt/load/etc with my strong hand. Works out fine. :)
@WeWantGoodCovers Depends what you mean... if I wanted to bet my life on the semi-auto fuction, I'd run buckshot or slugs. I've had no malfuntions in SA with "heavy" loads. If you want 100% reliable function with cheap/target loads, run it in pump mode. :)
Regarding the FTE you had when firing left-handed, it looks like the stock-placement also might have something to do with it. Your right shoulder is coming around pretty far. Try altering the pad on your stock to get a shorter length-of-pull, it might help you get your left shoulder behind the shotgun more.
hey jeffshootsstuff do you think you can make a video on how to dissasemble the benelli m3 super 90 or a link to a detailed review if you know one thanks rocker356
@rocker356 Full disassembly instructions are in the manual, available from benelli. I'll send you a message with the link; youtube won't let me post it here. I'll do a vid when I remember. :D
@RazerTNT Yes, if you use Improved Cylinder or more open chokes. Generally you don't want to shoot steel shot through modified or full (there may be exceptions). But why would you want to? Steel is waaaay more expensive and less effective than lead. If for environmental concerns, I guess I could see the reason.
First of all, very nice shotgun, you've got an M3 with the extended tube AND the ghost ring sights AND the pistol grip stock. I can't find one configured like this, so bravo to you, sir. Second, I see yours can hold 8 shells, is that 7 plus 1 in the chamber or 8 in the tube? Do you know the capacity for 3 inch shells as well? Thanks, and again, very nice shotgun.
@Yournamehere945 I checked and it holds 7 2 3/4" shells in the mag. I didn't get a chance to check 3" yet. The 7th juuust goes in, and I wager some of the longer roll crimps on some brands of slugs would prevent a 7th round. However, you can also 'float' one cartridge on the elevator, right below the bolt. So you can have 9 2 3/4" cartridges in the gun. Pretty cool.
@jeffshootsstuff eeek the SPAS, what a SPAZ!! lol. That has got to be the most overrated shotgun of the century! It wasnt really all that special. I guess all the 80s movies gave it a big rep? LOL
I'll make a review video of it asap. Its raining this weekend so I am bummed.
This is my fisrt Benelli and I am very impressed with it features, build quality and surprisingly....the price? It was actually cheaper than a Remington and the Mossberg 590 models with similar ghost ring sights.
Nice shotgun. For such an expensive shotgun you'd think it would reliably cycle everything you feed it? I am buying a Supernova tactical tomorrow (pump obviously). I passed on the M3 and got me a Mossberg 930SPX which runs cheap WalMart bulk birdshot like water so far. I love it. I really like the idea of switching from semi to pump still. I just wish it was less picky with ammo.
Yeah... honestly I was surprised it did as well as it did with the lighter loads, though. Last time I shot it it wouldn't cycle the "cheap" stuff. This time it did great as long as the dram eq. was 3 1/8 or higher. Let us know how your Supernova turns out!

If anything, the guy looks more like Jim Gaffigan. Everyone who has a beard does not look like Zach Galifianakis.

this shotgun actually has low recoil! or is it the gauge size?
olegario39 9 months ago
@olegario39 Actually it has quite significant felt recoil compared to heavier and/or gas-operated guns. It's a 12 gauge FYI.
