This film was actually based on something that really happened: When he won his oscar for Philadelphia, Tom Hanks thanked his gay high school teacher whose name I think is Rawley Farnsworth, I think that's his name. So I'm sure the makers of this film have gratitude to Tom for inspiring the film. Although here, we get to see the after effects of that incident.

I found this movie to be outrageous. Think about it, Cameron Drake (Matt Dillon) says on live television that Howard Brackett's gay & Howard Brackett lost the respect of everyone he knows, his job, his carrier & the women he loved. Cameron Drake ruined his teachers life & he did it on purpose.

If I were to rewrite this movie, this wouldn't be a Comedy, it would be a movie with drama, greed & revenge.
