It wont be long before this breed is overbred for money and ruined...they already have a very short lifespan of not more than 5yrs...yes some will live longer but many die before 5yrs old...cancer is their biggest inbred fault as well as bad hearts....like many dogs today..bred for the looks on the outside but NOT what goes on in the inside of the dog!...its hard to breed good solid long lived dogs..cos you dont know how long they will live until they die..by then many litters are already sold!

although they are from 1 family bloodline and the grandfather was my 1st, brought him to a show in 1994 and he got 4th place because he had a black mask (head) instead of red like the rest of the body, black masks werent popular yet, but he was bigger and overal physically more fit than the champ.. everyone agreed.

The light eyes and red coat not to mention the enormous heads where achieved by line breeding. My dog is half French Mastiff, half Pit Bull. He's such a cutie, and the sweetest dog in the world! He's super mellow and calm and he loves cuddling and meeting new people. When he meets someone new and gets really excited he wiggles his butt all over the place, it's so cute =) His only problem is that he always tries to hump me. In fact, when we were doing research on this breed, a couple of sites ranked this in a top 10 family dog category. For the record, ANY breed has the potential for attacking a human being. It's just that some breeds are capable of a greater degree of damage in a specific length of time. i think you will find if you do your research he also was said to have all DDB killed because of the loyalty to their owners. after he had this done the DDB was brought back from its low numbers by a man in france who started breeding them again in the 1960's
if you actually investiagte this you will find evidence of a direct instruction from the german high command to kill all DDBs because of their loyalty and agression to those who threatened their owners. He also made an attempt to eradicate certain gypsy groups so try not to comment where you are obviously unqualified to do so.

Dogue de Bordeaux hands down, bigger.. stronger ...faster.... more agile..... my Bordeaux towers over any Rotty I've come across and is almost as agile and quick as my parents Border Collie.....
Other thing is Rottweilers have a tendancy to be over weight which the Bordeaux's are not...
finally the Bodeaux breed are fantastic family pets. Great with kids & you can train them very well and are amazing guard dogs... huge, fearless but at the same time controllable..
I can recommend them higher than any other dogs I've handled such as Rotty's, German Shepherds, Collies and Labs... So i you want a big softy and a VERY safe house.... get yourself a Bordeaux or even a Bullmastiff which I also have.

Wrong actually. I love both breeds. Hell, I have over fifteen years of experience with both breeds, but if it really did come down to a fight, the Dogue would have a better chance of winning. First, his sheer size and strength would crush a Pitbull, along with the fact that his jaw size is the biggest of any other K-9s. It would take a LONG time before the Dogue tired out, for it was used to battle bears and MUCH stronger animals then the Pitbull. The Pitbull would most likely lose.
I have actually seen fights occur between a Dogue and a Pitbull. Of course, these fights were not intentional, but I have seen about three or four. All were between my dogs. One of my Pitbulls has even died because of an encounter with one of my untrained Dogue's. I feel guilty, but what can I say, without a lot of strength you just can't control the breed.

I have a Sinbad puppy. He is a great dog. He looks mean but he is a big 140lb teddy bear. Loves kids and meeting new people. Not so good with cats though.

I have two males, aged 3 and they are fantastic, but quite high maintenance !! These are not dogs to get on a whim, they need a lot of training and they will eat you out of house and home !!

finally the Bodeaux breed are fantastic family pets. Great with kids & you can train them very well and are amazing guard dogs... huge, fearless but at the same time controllable..
I can recommend them higher than any other dogs I've handled such as Rotty's, German Shepherds, Collies and Labs... So i you want a big softy and a VERY safe house.... get yourself a Bordeaux or even a Bullmastiff which I also have.

well actually they are better fighters then pitbulls (they beat pitbulls 85% of the time) although they are not used for that. They make excellent family pets. Beautiful dogs

nah, a french mastiff will tire out FAST because of the fat, and the overgrown head, which is actually an impediment instead of a useful tool, sure at first the mastiff will thrash the pit around, but the pit just WONT give up since he has the strongest will of ANY dog, eventually the ddb will tire and the pit will go in for the kill. simple

your speaking out your ass. you can train ANY dog of ANY size to become a fighter. all dogs are related MUCH closer than you think. Every single breed of dog is 99.9% wolf, and use that very small 0.01% for domestic house pets. the reason we can train them is becuase there dependant on a 'pack' just live wolves. I could train a border collie to be muscular and unforgiving in a fight, it just takes time. Pitbulls are disgusting excuses for a dog. why show off a dog which is ugly

nah you see your wrong. The ancestory isn't a gene that's carried over. for example, if pitbull 1 was a fighter. he then has a kid pitbull 2, there isnt a dependant pressure for that second pitbull to be just like its dad. It isnt in their DNA. it would become its own life in its own body as pitbull. Being vicious would happen if the owner taught the dog to do so, pitbulls are ugly but unfortunately also a good house pet. Face it KID it's the owner not the dog. go do one mate you fucking twat

Wrong actually. I love both breeds. Hell, I have over fifteen years of experience with both breeds, but if it really did come down to a fight, the Dogue would have a better chance of winning. First, his sheer size and strength would crush a Pitbull, along with the fact that his jaw size is the biggest of any other K-9s. It would take a LONG time before the Dogue tired out, for it was used to battle bears and MUCH stronger animals then the Pitbull. The Pitbull would most likely lose.

I have actually seen fights occur between a Dogue and a Pitbull. Of course, these fights were not intentional, but I have seen about three or four. All were between my dogs. One of my Pitbulls has even died because of an encounter with one of my untrained Dogue's. I feel guilty, but what can I say, without a lot of strength you just can't control the breed.

I have a Sinbad puppy. He is a great dog. He looks mean but he is a big 140lb teddy bear. Loves kids and meeting new people. Not so good with cats though.

Great to see that you have such respect for your dogs and the breed - some people unfortunately see them as status symbols and try to make out that they are aggressive dogs. I have two males, aged 3 and they are fantastic, but quite high maintenance !! These are not dogs to get on a whim, they need a lot of training and they will eat you out of house and home !!
