Ace of base was absolutely MASSIVE in Canada in the mid 90s. I was born in '86, so I grew up in a time when europop was everywhere. Good memories. =D

Correction - the music in 2011 sounds like 90s pop...that is, SOME of the music in 2011. Katy Perry, Britney, tons of the boys (Taio Cruz, Chris Brown). Basically, what's happening is a handful of good pop-eared (as opposed to the shit talent hip-hop wanna be producers) like Dr. Luke are rebirthing the 90s melody and pop sensibilities. Plus, there's more of a techno/club/trance influence to top 40 now than ever before. But, it'll NEVER compare to the original mid-90s magic, in my opinion.

It's been copied by various artist since then. This low-key-beat version was recorded back in '94 by A`B whist Gaga was still learning how to perform.
