Actually this movie footage was used to promote anime studio 5 back then. It's not made by whoever posted this video, but from an actual animation studio. The only thing here that wasnt made on anime studio is the intro logos but the animation itself could be done on that software.

Theres several reasons why this looks 'professional' aside from the fact it is.

1st, let me first say its just about never the application, its the artist, and his understanding of motion timing and scene layout, not to mention camera work.

The biggest mistake amatures make in animation is not animating.

This artist is tweening from pose to pose, not flipping images. look at the camera work, and render quality.  expressions from pose to pose.

Freakish Kid / Greykid Pictures are often seen in the Anime Studio forums and their website clearly states that they use ASP alongside of Adobe AE. If someone can prove that it was indeed created in version "5", then show me, because I "know" it wasn't.

All I can come up with is that stills from this short were on the box for Anime Studio when I got it way back ago. Also, animation to this quality-though rare- on Anime Studio IS possible. If you care enough, you could check out my video "Animation Testimation". It's not exactly toe-to-toe with this level of quality, but I think you'd get the picture. Sure, I may be self-advertising, but I honestly don't care about fame right now.
