  • 1:48 is freaking me out 0..o

  • I love these cats what a genius idea, it just makes them look more exotic if I had 15000 i surely would paint all five of my furry kids! I do know that my kats would love to have them selfs painted how special these cats must feel,

  • $15000 ?! I spend like $60 on my hair. Lol

  • Sorry but these ARE Photoshopped...

  • This is so COOL!

The clowncat creeped me out, but then: clowns just creep me out.

    But the paintjobs are stunning.

I'd like a cat like that, all pwetty.

  • They look better with natural markings! cats are beautiful they don't need that to look cute

  • its not animal cruelty.......they wouldnt be allowed to publish the book if it was...calm down......they have paint and hair dye for animals...groomers use it all the time

  • You folks protesting that this is animal torture are hilarious. After the paintjob, the animal couldn't care less. Plus, the dyes arent harmful at all. The hair dye that humans use is much more harmful for us and everything else.

  • does anybody know anything about that woman at 0:53 ??

  • Good job on your vid! I received pic's of painted cats in an email also, and I too created a vid. I looked on the whimsical side of the subject. If people are willing to spend "thousands" of dollars to have their cat painted they would ensure their cats well being. Otherwise that would be insane, narcissistic, ludicrous. Oops, my bad, there are people like that. Look on the lighter side of life and be amused by the pictures, not judgmental.

  • They feel bad about that and its YUCK TOO !Torchering animals!

  • I would like to know how they do it. they would have to put the cat asleep for the time it takes to paint and that's probably hrs. But they look cool thro

  • im surprised no one took a rosetted bengal and did a connect the dots thing... still its not like our pets get humiliated over this and its not harming them and if people feel they really need to spend that much money to make their pets look like a potted plant or butterfly... well thats their choice.. what i wonder is how they could get the cats to sit still long enough to be painted in the first place

  • Have people got fuck all better to do!!!

  • its crual......but some look kinda kool

  • i feel bad for the last cat

  • If people dye their dogs fur funky colors, then why not cats. the people who do this are trianed profectionals and would never use any chemicals that would cause the cat harm.

  • They're not photoshoped! All of these photos are straight out of a book called "Why Paint Cats?" It's not abusive either. It's been done for centuries in places like India where cats are considered to be good omens. Cats wouldn't stand for it if they really hated it. They're too independent for that. Also, the paint is vegetable based so it doesn't hurt them in any way. Great job to the artists!

  • FYI ~ that book is a JOKE... the author.. is a WELL KNOW NZ comedian.. he did this as a farce.. to see how many naive people( like yourself) would buy into this crap :) good job tho.

  • thank you for informing and insulting me. i don't think burton silver is at all well known outside of new zealand. no need to be so rude. i was a kid when i saw that book and thought it was cool. it's pretty funny crap, now that i get it, so thanks again for enlightening me.

  • they may put them to sleep to get that done to avoid getting your skin clawed to hell

  • I bet the people who do this are absolutely covered in scratches.

  • \i dont understand how this is not animal cruelty. its fucking ridiculous

  • Shut the fuck up you moron. You think you're well funny with the gay/cat marriage thing. Go fuck Sarah Palin you close minded, sick freak.

  • Hooray for ska :D

  • wouldn't the dye affect the cat as it would be ingested as the cat groomed it's self?

  • mhmn i dont think soO ..

cus its like not toxic or chemical paint...its done with vegetable paint...so its not harmfull..other wize it wud be harming the kat

  • 1:37 is my background

  • How and where do you get this done?

  • um... well you might not be asking after you know it costs anwhere from $15,000 to $40,000

    :/

if you can do that well then i dont know..

    :[

  • haha! cool! :D ;eople r very good at that!

  • (To the comment a few below)

Theres no way these were photoshopped!! Anyways, the people that did these did some really amazing, intricate jobs. Some of these amazed me, so origional!! Ive never seem anything like this!! When I was little I used to put makeup on my pets (kinda mean now that I think about it but I was really young and they were safe/didnt get hurt)but in no way did they ever look this good, I bet theres alot of money to be made doing this, great job to everyone that did these!!

  • lol, when you were little,ya still put lipstick on Diva but she'd look awesome with a complete paint job!

  • a great clip .

  • it's stupid x/

  • Photoshop work this intricate takes talent.

  • AWESome!!!!!!

  • I feel sorry for these cats, having to be painted on.I really am, but, the only good thing is that one organization painted some cats because they never got a home and they received one which is wonderful...

  • um...they're not really painted, the pics are fake. how could you paint a cat? it wouldn't stay still. also, you wouldn't get these colors. and you'll go to jail for animal cruelty.

  • I am a cat lover and these people who are thinking that these cats are abused ever stopped to think about a cats personality? Think about it - Would a cat lie there and sit and let you paint his face so neatly if he wasn't enjoying it?

  • this is pointless the cat might have feelings of its own plus i have 3 cool looking cats

    (none painted)

  • fantastic but if you help childrens is honderful

  • not normal

  • No it isn't fake, not a one of them, it's true that some people DO paint their animals and the cost is sometimes extreme, even more than the $30,000 posted on the vid. I would not do that to my cats, but the paint is similar to the same type of body paints for humans only it is safe and non-toxic to animals. BTW: I did like the skeleton one too, that one looked pretty cool for a Halloween costumed cat! So don't get upset, this does not harm the animal in any way.

  • This has to be Bush's fault,too!! ;)

  • I really got inspired by these cats so I painted my own cat with with creasote wood preservative, and non-drip gloss. It looked great for a while.

  • i really hope that these pics are digitally analyzed and these ppl really didn't paint their cats

  • Why paint cats? Why not!

  • lol, i like the skelleton one

  • god why are u epople so sensitive to this?its NOT A BIG DEAL!!!

  • This is just wrong. If people want cool looking cats, they should just go to a shelter and look for one with NATURAL cool markings. Why would anyone want to disgrace these beautiful creatures with such an ugly work of art. If you like to paint, save it for the paper. Not the fur.

  • what i think is, that some of those are fake. I mean paints not cat's, i think they've made by computer

  • some of it is pretty, but alot of it eill make the cat suicidal!

  • that is just wrong

  • thats pretty disgusting that people do that to animals. but i think all the dyes they use are harmlesstill though... cats are pretty enough as is.

  • how cruel!

  • I have 4cats and i would never do such a horrible thing too them how could anyone do that!

  • is it really paint or photoshoped?

  • real dye

  • they were cool but y would u do that 2 a cat!!?

  • i have a whole book of pictures of painted cats. its called "why paint cats?" i do feel kinda sorry for the cats, though. i mean, having 2 b r5e-painted every 3 months? ouch.

  • My buddy let his nieces dye his white dog blue with Kool-aid. They had a blast and it's totally harmless.

    Cool pictures.

  • discusting to see what a person will do to an animal.

  • these pictures are from the book "Why paint cats" The artists use vegitable-based dyes and the cats are calmed first, stroked etc before the dying starts. There is also a spoof book called "Why cats paint"

  • yeah well i dont think it affects the animal in any way except its dignity
