I actually liked this film! Probably coz I heard so much about it saying how bad it was and how little he was in NY, but I went in with low expectations and I ended up enjoying it, it had some cool scenes on the boat and the end in NY was still pretty good fun... wish he had a machete and started slashing EVERYONE in his way, that would've made it more fun!

I remember when I was in elementary school, my parents took me to see Turner & Hooch/Three Fugitives as a double feature at the drive-in back in '89. As soon as Turner and Hooch ended, I watched Friday VIII playing on the screen behind us. I had to pretend I gave a shit about Three Fugitives otherwise I woulda got caught. This was my first Jason experience and it was amazing!

The First friday the 13th movie was a classic it wasn't suposed to have Jason in it, they only mention him drowing as child. the beauty of the movie is that his mother was the killer. if it wasn't for that movie. there would be no Friday the 13th.

@bigbill1991 fuck you, I think the opposite is true. this movie's biggest problem is its trailer and its subtitle: Jason takes Manhattan. If they had just called it something that referred to the boat or the trip and made his arrival at Manhattan a surprise (as it was for me watching the movie without expectations), it would have been much better.
