Gotta love do-op! I remember my grandma had an old copy of Lee Andrews & the Hearts but the album cover had 2 women and a handsome guy...I think it was from the 70's. We played it on an old record player and the songs were really cool. I wish I could find a Cd of it today?...
Dirkaninja I am very Much aware of lee Andrew's son being a drummer. I said no SCREAMING OR HEADBANGING included with the rap crap don't be selective. P.s have you seen Lee Andrews and the hearts? or do you support any Doo Wop shows? I have seen lee Andrews 4 times..BUt thank you anyway! Joe Bklyn 1952..
What a song!!.....I'm thinking of our lost romance and how it should have been..oh if we only could start over again....great stuff..!! no rap crap..no screaming headbanging.. it's all about the words and harmony
@hardsly i hate to tell you this but lee andrews son is ?uestlove this drummer for the hip-hop group the roots. so really if you think about it hip-hop was influenced by music like this. so stop the complaining, i mean jazz was considered 'the devils music' in 1900 and now we have people like you whining about how it should come back to that.
I heard the original version on Questlove's KQED interview on 3/13/09.....it was BEAUTIFUL! Lee's voice was so mellow when he was 15 yrs old. It still is but was great back then!
Thanks for posting - I was able to find lots of his songs! Very grateful.
A great great song For ALL time...yeas Lee was older here I saw them a couple of times in this period his voice is gravelly...BUT that's OK>> I'm lonely and I'm blue yet I'll try to get along with out you!! I sit in my room looking out at the rain..my tears are like crytals they cover my window pane..
Lee is around 65 years old in this video. That's fifty years after he made this great soneg "Teardrops." Doo-Wop, the geatest sounding music to one's ear."
