You should never believe 100% of what you hear, NO MATTER WHAT the source. Find a source that you trust to be your primary, then use what everyone else tells you. Then, you have to use your own skills to decide what you think the "truth" is.
Sometimes, news is fluid... and a reporter has to accept that what he said isn't 100% accurate.
