  • 1:20 "..this poorly wrote documentation."

  • @maw88ify I know its off topic, but is there a chance I can get the wallpaper you are using in this video?

  • @ulisezzz Ya sure just google "Linux showtime wallpapers" I'll put a link above ...

  • What text to speech do you use?

  • @thejoesteiger AT&T text to speech... it's free online...

  • @maw88ify oh, yeah, i saw that one. I was going to use that for my channel but it's not allowed for commercial use.

  • @thejoesteiger I wouldn't call youtube video's commercial use unless you were making money off of youtube.

The commercial use is "Use for the purposes of monetary reward"

  • @maw88ify Yeah i know, but i wouldn't be allowed to become a youtube partner

  • Ditch linux its useless.

  • @NuclearHoaxFuel Now I come to find out Ubuntu 11.04 no longer works this way, and they changed everything again so I have to start all over again ... HAHAHA

  • @maw88ify Part of the problem is that you are updating for no reason. I don't understand why people get their systems set up the way they like them, then upgrade to the next release, the day it's released. That's fucking asinine. That's the idea about versions.. features change. Try keeping a newer Wacom tablet running between kernel updates without some command-line intervention.. but really, why update at all if everything is working? Security? Trust me - no one is trying to hack you.

  • @downwithdinosaurs Here is the truth about Ubuntu every release has bugs. For example the one I was using in this video pen pressure did NOT work in GIMP, but in 11.04 pressure does work in GIMP, but Blender3D 2.5 crashed all the time, and it has tons of new bugs. In Ubuntu 9.04 sound didn't work on my computer PulseAudio bug... So basically all Ubuntu releases are buggy , and this is why I'm looking for a new Linux distribution.

  • @maw88ify Every piece of software has bugs, bro. Windows has em. OSX has em. The way people rag on Ubuntu and other distributions for doing the same and often even better than their mainstream competitors, is a double-standard.

Let me ask you this. In all of your complaining about how bad Ubuntu seems to be, have you once complained to the tablet manufacturer, for not supporting your legitimate choice of OS?

Distro hopping may be fun, but it doesn't solve problems. They're all Linux.

  • @downwithdinosaurs Sure every OS has bugs, but Linux distribution just have more bugs . Let us talk about double-standards . Every Linux user I've ever spoke with always say "switch to Linux it's way better than Windows" , but if I even hint that there is a bug in Linux people like you will say "it's the manufacturer fault for not supporting your Linux distribution", but if Windows did the same exact thing you would say "it's because Windows is crap switch to Linux it's way better"

  • @maw88ify I never said any of those things. ..but it's clear you can not speak rationally because you have to steam roll your claims as facts. "Here is the truth about Ubuntu every release has bugs" .. yet the closest you will come to acknowledge that the same is flatly true for every other available OS, is "Every OS has bugs, but Linux .. just have more bugs" That is not a fact.. it is your personal conjecture.

You have a right to complain but you lose credibility by generalizing so much.

  • @downwithdinosaurs Distribution hopping doesn't solve anything like 700 versions of Linux desktops doesn't solve . You "complained to the tablet manufacturer to support your OS"will only make it work on my distribution , but what about all the other distribution . The problem is companies don't want to make packages for all the Linux distro's that all have different bugs, because it is a waist of time/money. Linux programmers need to focus on only a few Linux distributions to make great.

  • @maw88ify You also refuse to answer the question of why you feel the need to upgrade so regularly? Why can't you just get your system stable and leave it be? You don't need to upgrade every 6 months, just because they release something. Are you trying to tell me that no one has ever had a problem upgrading to a new version of Windows or OSX?.. ..or that you are given a new version every 6 months? Stop unnecessarily upgrading. Plenty of people have that tablet working fine - it must be you.

  • @downwithdinosaurs NO I didn't refuse to answer you as I said NONE of the version are stable. Every release of Ubuntu is buggy. Ubuntu 9.04 sound PulseAudio bug 9.10 Graphics driver bug, 10.04 sound and video bugs, 10.10 Pen pressure doesn't work correctly in some programs 11.04 Blender 3D and Firefox crash , Graphics driver bug, icons missing , and more ...

  • @maw88ify ..but you continue to ignore the fact that every version of Windows and OSX also has just as many crazy bugs. It depends way too much upon exacting hardware specifications and peripheral choices for you to generalize so much. It's really unfair to say: "Every version of every operating system has bugs, but because Ubuntu is frustrating me, it is automatically the worst."

You are trash-talking the entire distribution because of a single (cheap) tablet that other people have working.

  • @downwithdinosaurs Yes I'm using a (cheap) tablet on a (FREE) OS... Thank you for clearing that up for me ... You are correct cheap , and free equal crap . So I'm going to go buy Window 7 , and a Cintiq 21UX Pen Display . The other people have it working correctly DON'T HAVE THE SAME COMPUTER HARDWARE. I hope that clears things up for you .

  • @maw88ify You should try communicating with some other people if the documentation isn't working for you.. and just because you don't believe in communicating with manufacturers, doesn't mean that it does not work. How are they going to know you are having problems or that you even USE the operating system, if you don't tell them about it? This is the kind of mentality that I don't understand.. You want it to work, knowing the philosophy and nature of the OS, but don't want to participate?

    D:

  • @downwithdinosaurs Do you know what the Genius tablets manufacturers said when I emailed them in 2009 ? Nothing they never e-mail back. Any company I e-mail about Linux NEVER e-mail me back, and NEVER make their product work with Linux .

  • @maw88ify I use ubuntu for a relatively long time and that never happened for me o_õ

Only thing I ever needed using ubuntu was having a little patience to make everything work out the way it used to when using windows.
