I really like how you included that really huge number at the end.
Thank you for your kindness, to take the time to teach those of us interested in learning this fine language. I live in the United States of America and recently, working on family history, I found that I am a direct decendant of Rolo. I am his grandson ~ 29 generations! Rolo, as I understand, is the founder of Norway! Finding this out obviously caused me to want to understand more about Norway, its people and the language. This north american really apprecates your time and effort to help.
these videos really help, as you have the words on screen as well as you saying them. in future videos however, can you maybe say the pronounciations too? like october would be ohkt-toe-burr
@gregboyds You sure know nothing of Norway, so why bother posting ting's you have no clue about? so u say we have winter from October to may? or September to April? Then you forgot a few seasons... And if u think people from Norway is "extremely unfriendly, rude, arrogant, lazy and hypocritical" u sure have not visited the country very much.
O totally agree with you, was in Norway last summer, Oslo area, unforgettable memeries! People were very friendly and out-going. Everyone knows English which is a great advantage if you don't know Norwegian. Besides they are well organised, helpfull and very often they start to talk first. Once I had thought Nordic people are cold and talk-dodging but I changed my opinion very quickly. Skol ;)

i was wondering where in norway you are from, because the way you pronounce english is really odd. i'm sort of thinking you are from western norway ? funny vids though, keep up the good work !!
@gregboyds Norway is a great country. English is the "internacional language" because any fool can speak the tongue. You should enjoy these videos to learn something good but I doubt you will... you narrow-minded sucker!
@galstrim I Know that I hung on a Windy Tree for 9 long nights, wounded with a spear, dedicated to Odin. Myself to myself. On that tree that no one knows from where it's roots run. They gave me neither bread nor wine so I bent down in search. I recognized the runes. Wailing I grasped them.
The eleventh I remember as I lead old Friends to battle. I sing under the Shields, and they go forth with might.
Safe into the fray, safe out of the fray, wherever They come from.
@gregboyds You should watch you mouth. You clearly know nothing about norwegians, so why don't you shut the hell up? Stupid people shouldn't speak of things they don't have a clue about.
We do have long summers, depending on how far north you are, and you seem like the rude and arrogant person here!
you suck, i want to learn norwegian because its a cool language. i already understand norwegian and other nordish language when i listen exactly (because its roots grow to the german language)
but i still cant speak norwegian and it would be very nice if i could, because it sounds very nice
and by the way i could pray to oden in an authentic language
@knight7fox2 Actually, the language closest to the viking's are Icelandic. When the vikings ruled, Iceland was under Norway, and because Iceland is pretty isolated from the rest of the world, the language didn't change much trough the centuries :P
In other words, you could say that Icelandic is "Old-Norwegian".
I'm from Iceland. You people say that it sounds strange when you say "six" in Norwegian, but in Icelandic we say "sex" xD So it's written weird, and spoken weird ;)
Hi! Hvordan går det? Jeg lærer norsk bare fem måneder. Den video er veldi god for meg fordi jeg altid glemer tall og ordenstall. Kan jeg ha den video i mp3 kanskje?
Why on earth do you have that pounding bass playing all through the video - it makes it unwatchable for me. Don't you *want* people to hear what you're saying? I simply don't understand how your mind works.

du er flint.. jeg er fra america og jeg elske norge.. jeg er fra Oslo.. my norsk is very limited becuz i just started exactly a month ago with my parents, who kno it really well
oki info is that the "r's" aint spelled as he is. or it is in special ares ... u actually count different in different places u live ... not much evation from this tough :)
it is not that hard to learn norwegian at all!! i am from norway and thats the most patetic try to count i have ever seen. his dialekt is from a place close to bergen thats namedd stavanger. thats the most hard way to learn norwegian on. you shuld try to learn it in the way we speak in hedalen. thats really more easy. just to be nice.
thanks for the info... i was listening to this.. and the way he pronounces his words is completely different to how i learnt them.. so i was having a panic attack that what i learnt was wrong! haha
@NemanorTheAlmighty Why on Earth would you want to learn our language? No offense though. I mean, sure, if you learn our language you'll be able to understand Norwegian, Swedish and Danish (3 languages), but still... Almost everyone from Scandinavia are willing to adapt to English, and 95% of us knows English well.
You should learn German instead. It's similar to our language. And there are a lot of Germans who do not speak English at all, so learning it would be worth your while.
perhaps some native English speakers either have ancestors originating from Scandinavia (such as myself) or find the culture, history, etc. to be interesting. i won't ever question someone about why they are learning one language instead of another. at least not in a negative way.
i am falling in love with the norwegian language. i am greek and study translation, i wanted to learn a scandinavian language and i hesitated between norwegian and swedish...anyway i just just couldnt understand how we should pronounce 16, is it saisten???...
@aabbccgreece just to point it out. Not all norwegians pronounce the r's like that, thats a dialect ;) That's really a bitch in the norwegian language really, the dialects are very diffrent :)
@aabbccgreece That was pretty close. But you should not worry too much about the dialect. Our dialect changes tremendously depending on where we are in Norway. In fact, our dialect change every 10km. In order to learn it, you should live and work in Norway.
"16" in the most common dialect (south-eastern) would be pronounced sæi·sen even though it is written seks·ten.
@aabbccgreece Sorry about that... in my dialect, it would be seis'n, and in @galstrim dialect it would be sæis'n... the t and e at the end is silent... but when you put emphesis on it, as if explaining it, it would be sæis·en
@jangrimsrud I refer to Oslo as South-East because we cannot expect people who are not from Norway to know where East in Norway is. For all they know, East could've been up in Finnmark, or been the entire Swedish border.
I know that this is your opinion, but there are no New-Norwegian dialects in Norway, and there are no dialects in Norway that resembles New-Norwegian. Saying that New-Norwegian is a dialect is just wrong because it is a written language only.
:3 hey thanks man. Although if I hadn't recently learned that "and" was "og", then that might mess me up when you say and before the last number in some of the sequences.
Good thing as a german, most of the language is the same, so i hope i learn my third language faster than english :D

"æ" sounding like the "a" in "having"
in my dialect it would be pronounced sei·sen.
the "e" sounding like "a" in "bay"

@aabbccgreece Sorry about that... in my dialect, it would be seis'n, and in @galstrim dialect it would be sæis'n... the t and e at the end is silent... but when you put emphesis on it, as if explaining it, it would be sæis·en

No. I don't know where Galstrim is from, but it sounds like south-eastern part of Norway (Arendal?)
I'm from Rogaland, and I pronounce it like: sei-s'Tenn (rogaland)
"sæis - en" sounds like east-norwegian (Oslo-area), where they have silent t's.
Up on the westcoast where they speak in a "Nynorsk"dialect, it would sound like "seKs'ten" -
alteast thats my opinion :)

(I need more space to write, ugh).

:3 hey thanks man. Although if I hadn't recently learned that "and" was "og", then that might mess me up when you say and before the last number in some of the sequences.

just say tre. t-r-e. learn how to say the different letters in norwegian, and you should see that "tre" is pronounced just as it is spelled.
