awwwwww c'mon.....it is actually called a thickness planer...and In England a rabbet joint is called a rebate...there is a difference in England between a board and a plank...they use the metric system for measurement and we use the empirical system...in England half blind dovetails are called lapped dovetail....they are not wrong ....just different. no need to call him a bastard....no matter how you misspell it.
I think you will find that this is a project for students to help teach them the basic cabinetmaking skills (NOT JOINERY Mr Neckomac) Not just a receptacle for a few friggin tools.
@jess25space .. O zaman türkçe video da yapsınlar amına koyi.. Çinlilere de çine video yapsınlar.. İngilizce öğren amcık. International Languaga is english. Saygın olsun biraz .Sikik...
german way...it shows yoy the right position...your handmade dovetails at the beginning of the video are too smal.....it has to be material thickness...i can send you a example if you want....but after all very nice work!!!!!
I use the triangle... I got it from a Continental maker. But I was taught to number the corners. So the triangle isn't obligatory. I use it, because it's impossible to go wrong, unless you are not thinking!
Nice work RC, but I would have used a framed and panelled back on such a nice piece.
It's not the German way at all. It's the English way, but generally used only by Cabinet-makers as opposed to Joiners. It's pretty much fallen out of use in the UK... And it's a nit-picky criticism you're making.
@scheppach69 sure do as u like but it's, not the the work of a joiner it's more like handyman...but if u like it do have it ur way why not.....i did not want to tell somebody what to to, i just left a comment...:D

Very attractive cabinet. Was the inside designed in any specific manner? Shelves or hooks for tools?

Looks nice. Overbuilt maybe? for tool storage.

You should read Scot LAndis's 'The Toolbox Book', if you want to see 'over-built' solutions for tool storage!
But they are all 'cool'!
