Not all religious people are idiots. There are extreme sects in EVERY religion. Religion can empower and uplift. That said, the Quiverfull movement is destructive and hurtful not just to women but also the children.
@missyouho0 well i'm only expecting my first baby and i seriously doubt ill have more than 5. But I am put down a lot for that too. My shock is just the strong hateful reactions since it really seems over the top to hate people who want a lot of children. Just because most people in the West chose to have 1.5 babies doesnt mean that they should hate people who chose to have a lot more. I guess its the rage that shocks me, not the disagreement with their choices.

We live in a finite world, with finite resources. This means that the per capita share of food and water, to name two important resources, will DECLINE with increased population. Also, overpopulation would directly affect the people of already marginal third world countries waaay before it effects N'Yorkers or Angelinos.
@watermelonygoodness Ever looked out of an airplane window while traveling cross-country? There's miles & miles & miles of green areas, dense forests & farmlands between the tiny cities I see below. If NYC or LA is over populated, they need 2 move, spread out.
