  • I read the book, great information and well written!

  • Nice. Now, too bad when someone goes to schedule an appointment.. They then find out this guy charges 5k for it

  • "will be published in SA" "Meddle East Brain" ,,,, SO what

    ,,,????

  • This guy's a dweeb, ritalin obviously along with any other psychiatric drug, can only cause you harm. WWJD? Would Jesus condone psychiatric drugs? No!

  • This man would be better suited to selling things from a suitcase on the street. He is arrogant, he quotes huge numbers to try to impress and convince you. How does he know how many stars there are in the universe? How does he know just how many neurons there are? He doesn't. He's a grade "A" Bullshitter. The thought of this pompous little prick weilding a scalpel is enough to make your skin crawl. A shameless little self promoter. We should open up his brain and look why he loves himself so.

  • I have been unknowingly addicted to Caffeine in high doses for over 2+ years. Every day I have worked out for as long as I can remember. I have been using this drink call 'Power Pump 7' by VPX. There is no Caffeine or obvious stimulants listed. However recently I created a link between the drink and my need for it just to function. 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine is one of the ingredients. It is pretty much caffeine. This is deception. After 3 days of hell and pain I am starting to think again.

  • Very informative and good observations. I still feel that we are capable to change our results when we change our thinking and reprogram our minds. As the old computer saying goes garbage in garbage out". So if form birth we hear and get considerably more negative feedback than positive is it any wonder why we live in such a negative, self centered world?

  • fuck yes

  • The most complex thing in the known universe.

  • He's a modern day astrologer, his charts are of the inner sky. Also contemplate why the brain is the most complex organ PERCEIVABLE to our brains

  • I wish all psychiatrists were as wise and as learned as Daniel Amen

  • @AndyJK45 Thank you.

  • May I humbly remind you--Oral Roberts University graduate--that God chose to use a President with an imperfect brain to lean over into the ear of Gorbachov and whisper, "Nyet!" To stand up to the Soviets who respected/feared him? To end the cold & help tear down the Berlin Wall? Until this man appeared I feared the realistic possibility of nuclear missiles my way. God used a man with a failing brain to change history. Pres. Reagan had conscience & conviction.

  • i stopped watching the moment you started talking about how it can determine how close you are to god an what type of minister you are etc. it seems you are to religious an this a presumption not a statement you are to religious to percieve the fact the brain an the mind have nuffin to do witha god figure human mind made up the figure an fables storys etc to form a system of control by installing faith and a set of rules the brain is a brilliant thing but it is also easally mislead

  • @mingdamerci

You would have to be a god to know for a fact there is not one. About 95% of people believe there's a god. Isn't it godlike to presume superiority over the rest of us schmucks? Einstein & Newton I'm sure were smarter than we and yet they were smart enough to realize how little they knew. They were also Deists. The more you know the less you will realize you know. Not meant to insult you because we are all human & lack humility--myself included. P.N. (190 I.Q. & feel stupid!)

  • @pjmnash i agree mate i do feel stupid so stupid it kills me to know how many even more brain dead people there are out there an i blame that on the education systems being SHIT! i jus dont believe or percieve the god that all religion portrats as being god to be what it really is

  • @mingdamerci

Mate, I appreciate your civility despite religious persuasions. Although a Christian, I'm appalled by our image in this world! Not the God I know. What's sad is that others know I'm hesitant to give my opinion (although my I.Q. was publicized here) & yet they blithely give out ignorant flippant opinions! They know I feel unqualified to give opinions i.e. I feel stupid-& they lack any humility! It's not about I.Q. anyway but about conscience--doing the right thing in courage!

  • @pjmnash fully appreciate what your saying, and i dont meen to offend by anything i may say.... i wouldnt ever try to pursuade u otherwise about your beliefs.. only thing i ever tell people is to research the history of how the religion became to be. and make your own assumptions as a human not as a religious person. im sure ur a very intelligent person and if researched u could find an see why i hate the image that is portrayed of "GOD"

  • just stopping by...

  • what about being born with a perfect brain and then being a child of abussive alocoholic parents, I think nurture is being short changed by you, i believe from my experience is proper nurturing is by far! the most important factor whenit comes to behavior and function, i have seen it in my experince, even with adhd proper nurturing will over come this. abuse as a child should be 1 priority. You treat the after affects of abuse which is a beautiful thing and you do it well.

  • Don't miss your chance to meet Dr. Daniel Amen and attend his upcoming lecture. February 19th & 20th, 2011 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL for the "Yes ... We Can Think Outside The Box" Next Generation Conference on Science-Based Medicine. THe conference is presented by The Robert Fishman Institute for Training and Research. • Wow, thanks for laying that out you make it seem like its a no brainer :) many thanks sir

  • Wow, thanks for laying that out you make it seem like its a no brainer :) many thanks sir

  • eat alot of fish and green tea liek the asians do and meditation and water and fruit and not too much meat which is harmful to the brain and the drinkign water with lithuima nd floride in it very bad for our brains wacth alex jones show lithim in water supply

  • your brain is you and there for you are responabe for you so you can change your thinking if you truly want to

  • What ever you immerse your self in is what you become.. The Brain grows that way!

  • i have had one problem after another and i am going to listen for once and listen to what Daniel Amen has to say , i think hes great ...

  • this quack doc is full of shit

  • @ytertyu

Do you know better? Please share.

  • @ytertyu What is it that he is saying is not true? What is your qualification?

  • iF YOU CAN MAKE BENZPHENTAMINE INTO A NON ADDICTIVE DRUG SOMEHOW, YOU WILL HAVE THE BEST TREATMENT FOR THE INATTENTIVE TYPE ADD. WHAT IF IT WERE A PATCH?. WOULD IT THEN BE ADDICTIVE?IT EVEN HELPS WITH THE TIREDNESS. LOOK AT THIS STUFF.JUST 1 WORKS ALL DAY BUT NO DOCTOR WILL GIVE IT. EXPERIMENT WITH IT.

  • What are neurotransmitters doing in a hyper adhd brain that they are doing differently in a sluggish inattentive type brain?

  • Love this amazing

  • at 3.54 see healthy brain and broken brain, side by side. He also says Zanex is bad for the brain as he sees from brain scans. Ginko Biloba is GOOD for the brain.

  • you can't teach us fuck all !!!!! You can't even convince me to buy your shit book!

  • I wished Doctor Who was on television in my coutry. Until then I will continue to watch it online at lastnightstvshows (.) com

  • my memory sicks now a days, what should i do, i don't trust my memory any more :(

  • To be intelligent you must use and try your imagination .

  • Our brains are locked for a reason but if you don't seek the truth than you will never know.....................

  • how old is he? Odd association of Oral Roberts University. I think fish oil has been found ito be high in mercury.

  • the broken english in his scans put me off, more than anything.

  • Nokia007able: I have the opposite angle for your question. Brain cells die and are NEVER replaced. So be careful, very careful what you drink, smoke, and intake into your body.

  • how do you stop seizures?

  • In response to your question - Kepra is a medication that can control seizures.

My 81 year old mother is on the generic Kepra and is working for her. It is important to see a neurologist who can diagnose you and see if this is best for you. Certain other medications can cause seizures; so please read any side effects of those medications, and consult your physician. The very best of luck to you.

  • So one day, we could create a robot that actually feels and behaves like a mortal 'person' by creating that many connections in a computer until it thinks just like a human being. We have only just scratched the surface with computers, one day, we will be able to create a computer that actually thinks for itself. It's probably not that far away.

  • How do you know that the human brain is the most complex thing in the universe? That is not possible to know!

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo what makes you think the brain is not a complex thing,u know there are millions of neurons in the brain almost equivalent to the number of stars in the universe. You are here watching this video, commenting on it only because of your brain. You know science haven't yet found out from where does our thoughts arrive, does that itself makes our brain the most complicated thing. And our entire life is a thought.

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo Do you know of anything that might be more complex? Do you know of anything that has been able to do what man has accomplished?

  • @BazzNewYork Your not proving Marcelo wrong even if he doesn't know of anything more complex than the human brain. He is saying that it is not possible to know that it is the most compex organism in the universe. We are not aware of every organism in the universe !

What Amen should have said is that the human brain is the most complicated organism in the universe that we know of !

  • @MattFinsteinThat is because you don’t know the purpose of human existence.

  • @BazzNewYork Enlighten me ....... What is the purpose of human existence ?

  • @MattFinstein If you are really sincere get on your knees and ask God to show you, and He will. But if you refuse and make light of what I am saying to you, then you really did not want to know, but is only looking for something to ridicule.

  • @BazzNewYork I am not someone out to ridicule anyone. I respect all people who show respect to me. It is my belief that no one is aware of every organism in existence. I apologize if i am somehow threatening any religious views you may have. You have every right to have them. However, you make it your business to have faith in the bible . Surely you can entertain the idea, even if you don't believe it, that there may be things out there undiscovered more complicated than the human brain

  • @MattFinstein Nothing that may be discovered can compare to the human brain. Man's (mankind) potential is far greater than he can ever imagine. Man was made to become like God.....He or she, was made to share ruler ship over all things with God….co ruler if you will. Of course, for human beings to attain to that we need the Spirit of God and a new brain.

I can't say anymore because there is only so much one can post here.

  • @BazzNewYork I am going to try hard to be respectful and not mock you. You seem to be so sure of all these christian teachings.... why ? here's my hypothesis, (may be wrong)... You were raised in family or community that valued and instilled these teachings in you at a very early age. Consider that there are billions of other human beings living in the world who are just as sure as you are that their belief system is true. why are they wrong and you right ?

  • @MattFinstein You are incorrect about how I learnt what I am telling you. Question; how do you know that what you believe is correct? Any question you can ask me can easily be turned back at you. I would suggest to you (because I have had skeptics such as yourself make that same statement to me many times) that before you challenge what someone else believe, challenge your own first.

  • @BazzNewYork Don't feel scared to question the teachings of your religion. You will not be judged for using your mind. Break out of your bubble ! There's more out there than what someone else tells you is true ! I realize this may be belittling to you. I apologize.....but i really believe you must try to understand what has happened to you. Trust yourself !

  • @MattFinstein I am not into religion.....I tell people what Jesus taught, and He never taught religion. You ask me to challenge my religion, but have you taken your own advice? Have you challenged what you believe?

  • @BazzNewYork Ok . you are clearly an intelligent person and I like that we have kept the respect going throughout this discourse. You are also right that these questions i pose you can easily be turned to me. The difference however is that I do not adhere to one particular belief system or another. I believe in life ..in love... and in truth..... wherever i can find it. I do not presume to "know" anything that cannot be rationally explained or proven.

  • @MattFinstein Well I believe in love and truth. In fact, the Bible says that God is love and His word is truth. God loves human beings so much that He sent His Son to give His life for us, so that we can be one with Him and spend eternity with Him forever in total peace and harmony. If man had the answer to the purpose of life and how to live in peace and harmony the world would not be the way it is today. And there are truth that is beyond the human mind to discover on its own.

  • @BazzNewYork The idea is to keep your mind open. Just because their is nothing that man has come across that is more complex than the human brain doesn't mean their couldn't be somewhere ! you say "Nothing that can be discovered can be compared to the human brain" you are presuming to definitively "know" something that you cannot possibly know. Then you back up your reasoning with religious beliefs. .... Thus taking someone else's word for it. Somewhere along the line you stop thinking.

  • @MattFinstein My mind is open to God's word and He has to say. I say man's brain is the most complex because man is not just a physical creation......man is a spiritual being. The Bible says that there is a spirit in man. We have a body with a brain, but our mind is spirit. But the thing about spirit is it cannot be observed via the five senses. In order to know that spirit exist God must reveal it to us.

  • @BazzNewYork Your brain has turned to poo, so in your case the brain isn't the most complex organ in the universe.

  • @PrinceZappa Why is it that people such as yourself can't have a decent and respectful conversation and not resort to insult?

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo He said complex organ, not thing...

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo he did not say thing, he said organ. most complex organ iin the universe.

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo Complex organ... not complex thing but nice try

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo

UR probably right--impossible to know for sure but a statement made by deduction factoring math (the TRILLIONS of connections) and cognition of consciousness. We doubt that non-organic matter in the universe is aware of itself. Human cognition means that you are aware enough to respond intelligently to this video. Matter interacting with matter? Amazing. Your brain feels too, falls in love, questions everything? UR complex! :-)

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo Yea but it's something we might now, it is something we have facts behind?

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo If time is infinite, all possibilities will be met, correct?

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo The brain is the most complex (known) thing in the universe. Common sense makes that implied.

  • @marcelomarinhoaraujo Actually, if you use comparitive reasoning, there is on other possible conclusion. Time has proven that we have the capacity to eventually understand every component of our universe. Yet, our understanding of the brain is paltry compared to other complexities (the universe, physics, micro-organisms, etc.

  • haha. He's really dumbing it down for everyone. "Your brain even determines what kind of person you are."

  • what is the number 1 way to improve your brain ?

  • this guy sent me an email saying a dead person left me 30 million dollars?!

  • This science helped me so much. I was able to rise to a place of compassion for my self and others by looking at behaviors through this lense. It clearly provides a pathway to understand cruelty and forgive it.

  • My son had Raccoon roundworm Encephalitis

  • Very Interesting, i have 2 audiobooks from dr david amen

  • Ahoy, '09, March 11th, Mates, I could have used this information by Dr. Daniel Amen, back when Don and I had our little son, Kristopher, diagnosed w/ ADhD(AttentionDeficitw/HyperactivityDisorder). There was a Dr. Rabb, on the Oprah show, I believe, who spoke of nutrician and the 'rotation diet' for behavior disorder. I read books such as "The Difficult Child". We stayed w/ Dr.Daniel Becker of Mobile, AL, and the damned Ritalin, ..until our son became "toxic" on it and did display ticsshaking.

  • Dr. Doris Rapp- Author of the Is This Your Child series. I took my sons there when they were young. I now preach her gospel to others. Your library had her books. Support them.
