For the big key room: if you walk out and back in, any skeletons or one-eyed monsters that you killed will still be gone, but the pots will respawn. You don't have to take any damage at all :)
Yep, I found this out belatedly after watching another LP of a swordless run. Works a lot better then running head first into the pots all the time. That tactic is better for speedrunners. Glad you're enjoying it though ^_^
I think it took me about an hour to do on SNES 9.x with a 600frame/s skip on it. Assuming a standard 30frame/s during regular the play, the math will be:
1hr * 600frame/s = X * 30frame/s
X = (1hr * 600frame/s) / (30frame/s) = 20hr
Twenty hours o-o If you do attempt this, you'll need a turbo figure controller so you can hold down A and than another controller with it's cover off so you can enact the exploration glitches, but I think it is doable.
@SuzakuBlitz I thought it was 60 fps, not 30. either way, thats still a long time.
I was actually planning on modding my snes controller to allow for up+down+left+right, so this is just more incentive to do so. Now there's just the issue of getting a turbo controller...

Cool! Taking a look at trying this myself.

So, if i have a ton of time to waste, is this possible on an actual console? And how long would it take? This would be a really fun project to try!

@SuzakuBlitz Thanks!
They're actually not that much on ebay, probably not a good sign in terms of quality...

As long as the A Button and the D Pad still works, that's all you need, right?

@SuzakuBlitz lol, true.
