  • The end of "The Legend of Zelda 1"... So they KNEW they were going to make another one I guess?

  • NO, REALLY!!!!

  • I just had to note here that, although you've stated you use cheats where you can, it's funny, cause you still have 255 rupees when you get Zelda, where you need to shoot at least one arrow to kill Gannon.

  • c'mon link get laid for once or at least a kiss!or marriage, wait he has had a kiss no possibility of being laid but not sure about marriage

  • Thank you, link but that bitch is in another castle! Ha Ha, gotcha. I'm just shitting.

  • In the true ending, Zelda kicks you in the dodongos & steals all 255 of your Rupees!

To do this, you first need to start a new game and register your name as "GANNON!" This will start you on the "3rd Quest". -VGO

  • Yes, peace returns to Hyrule. Then, several hundred years later, the gods flood Hyrule because it's a terrible place. You tell me wtf?!

  • 0:29 God,my eyes...

  • Wait..............what?

  • YOU ARE GREAT.

  • So link never gets laid with her hmmmmm

  • Wisdom and power... For the triforce of wisdom and triforce of power link recovered

  • This ending looks identical to the ending you get for beating quest 1. What if any makes the ending different than the ending to the first quest. I love if somebody could let me know.Thank you.

  • @rastachucker The screen flashes red in the first ending and green in the second. Other then that the only other difference is that the first ending says "Another quest will start from here." after the credits and after the credits the second time you get "You have amazing wisdom and power."

  • man this ending sucks

  • "You have an amazing wisdom and power"(?) Wow...just wow....

  • You are Great.... lol. Good Job btw

  • I did this once getting thru the second quest by myself. Not easy espiecally with those red bubbles.

  • captured the first time, not her fault. captured again, she sould have bought a gun

  • @bitcheznhos hahaha omg this was like fuckin 2 million years b4 christ u remember?

  • @sentryshooter777 But she should have learned the first time that someone wanted to capture her. If she even bought the red or blue bow and arrow she could have defended herself. Even the wax candle could have thrown some fire and she could have ran away.

  • I think the first zelda on NES is really awesome game and all of the series. This game is really good to start all series, but, I think this is stupid, that you must complete this game 2 times to complete it in "100%"..... I completed it only 1 time....

  • Yea the ending is the same if memory servers as 1st quest.

I found out the same thing from MAsters quest on OOT. IT had the exact same ending as well as normal OOT.

  • they're basically the same thing

    lol

  • thats it

  • 5 guys made this game?!?!?!

  • S. Miyahon?!!? BLASPHEMY!!!!

  • A lot of old video game makers would put nicknames instead of their real names when they were on the credits.

Examples are things like Keiji Inafune calling himself Inaking or some people in the Street Fighter 2 credits calling themselves names like Mokomoko-chan and such.

  • S.Miyahon isnt his nickname that was an issue of translation

  • A similar thing happened to Castlevania in the end credits.

All of the Japanese developers had their names chopped out and replaced with fictional Western names outside Japan.

For example, Kinuyo Yamashita (the composer of the music) was credited as James Banana.

  • Japs are weird, and they're not getting any less weird.

  • @Alfrunk

Even after watching clips of the TV shows they have now I find it hard to really stick up for their sanity as a nation. lol.

  • thankyou for doing this

  • Apparently "hon" and "moto" are denoted by the same japanese character.

  • @0ddler Veeeery old comment, but the explanation is simple: They transcribed the 本 part of Miyamoto's name as "hon" ("Chinese" reading) while it should have been "moto" ("native" reading).

But don't ask me how they came up with "Konchan" instead of "Kondou" (this time, "tou/dou" is the Chinese reading and correct here), because "藤" doesn't seem to have a "chan" reading at all (native would be "fuji")

(I don't speak any JP or ZH but I have a basic idea of how the characters work)

  • Isn't it awesome to know a group of 5 guys got together and made a game that can still beat some of the games made today that consist of a huge team?

  • Ironically: the 5 guys who made this game produced a better experience than all of the 3D Zeldas combined.

  • wrong Oot kick ass and is the greatest game ever produced

  • thanks link, youre the hero of hyrule

    ... no shit

  • I will never forget how fucking relieved I was to discover that I was the hero of hyrule and not some other bastard.

  • HAHAHAHA! Fucking hilarious comment. :)

  • I actually started playing this again... on the Wii this time. Beat Quest 1 and lost everything. I was wondering, does the same happen when you beat Quest 2? I would hate to beat it and then be forced to start a new quest and lose everything again.

  • I don't remember. But I think so.

  • Link: What fuck the 2nd quest, I worked my ass so hard to find all these 8 well hidden dungeons n you give me a 2nd quest bitch? screw dis ganon you can keep this bitch.

thats what I would say if I was link for real. I'm damn impressed you beat the 2nd quest without dieing congratualtions man.

  • Thanks lol. I had plenty of years to get this shit right haha.

  • it must take alot of time to do that I'm pretty impressed with that AR :)

I mostly don't complain about some games beeing hard to beat but this zelda game had alot of secrets you can easily not find.

I ain't beaten Phantom hour glass yet but I have the golden guide book I just hate the idea of redoing the same puzzles all the time :( but I have beaten all the other zelda games alot except for the Philips Cdi games of course cause I never played em.

  • Yeah I know what you mean. Back when this game first came out, the only thing I had around to help me was Nintendo Power but not even that covered the 2nd quest dungeon locations and stuff. Those were a pain in the ass to find. And I haven't played the Cdi game lol. I don't want to.

  • Argh I will never play the Cdi game I knew it was a bad game but I thought it would be fun to play to take the piss out of it but when AVGN showed how bad this game is I was angry just looking at it O_O I wonder what the fuck the designers were smoking for real that game is the no.1 worst game I've ever seen.

  • Yeah that game is poop lol. I don't think Nintendo had anything to do with that one.

  • I think nintendo would rather just forget that such a badly done game did exist like they said the same thing about the Super mario bros live action film they hate that film to lol

  • omg don't even bring that movie up rofl. That thing was an abomination. I mean really? The casting director can't even get real Italians to play Mario and Luigi? c'mon..... haha. Yeah as you can tell I didn't really care for that movie. Thankfully no one has made a Zelda movie yet.

  • Well I wouldn't mind for once watching the zelda film if it wasn't fake lol n I can't believe that there is gonna be two new shit films coming out, new street fighter live action film and dragonballZ.

  • Yeah I don't get it. Movies based on video games never did well. Silent Hill is the only one I can think of but that's about it.

  • Tombradier and Sillent Hill were the only movies based on games I ever liked I still have the resident evil quadrillogy.

  • theres a movie?

  • No 3rd Quest!?

How could it have been made harder if there was a 3rd quest??

  • lol "You have AN amazing wisdom and power"..

They didnt proof read, i gather :P

  • You are great ... indeed.

  • You have an amazing wisdom and power!

  • Woah, It took 7 people to make this game. Ha, the good ol' days....

  • try 9 people

  • nah, 7

  • a game could still be made with such little people...it would probably kick major ass actaully, less time on graphical bullshit and music and more time on fun and gameplay

  • they must have been pretty confedent that they were going 2 have a sequel

  • LMAO XD

  • umm what was diffrent beside from the epileptic color flash???????????

  • I read all of that in CD-i Zelda's voice

  • This game is mega cool. I love listening the Mario Rpg music.

  • [1:06] What does that ''Zelda - 0'' mean?

  • lol thats his death count for that playthrough.. Which means he didnt die at all ._.; lucky him I died like 536476348458695 times in that game.. And dont get me started on the second quest XD

  • Damn Second Quest!

  • Considering how they put "END OF ZELDA 1" just told you there's going to be a sequel.

  • lol i love the grammar

  • Lol.. The game was made by seven people. The good 'ol days...

  • Did yuo know that if you input Zelda as the profile name, you automatically start the second quest?

  • This is the end of zelda 1. They fucking knew that would make more weather we liked it or not, thank god we did!

  • By the time they had translated this for English-speaking markets, Zelda II already existed in Japan. You've got it the other way around.

  • it made me so happy when i realised it was a second quest i was like no way this game is liek brand new again :O :) ... and oh you think there is a second quest like this to zelda link tho the past for super cause if there is i wanna know how to getit

  • Well technically there aren't any 2nd quests for a link to the past within the cartridge itself. But there are some rom hacks out there made by fans of the game, that change around alot of stuff and make it more difficult.

  • oh and another thing, gannons castle in second quest was smaller by a few rooms and also i could never ever find the last two yeart pices for two full rows i never did in the first wquest either they must be hard huh and who woulda thougth blowing your wistle in the grave yard was to open door way for castle six lmao oh and why are the maps of letters spelling zelda :S lmao in the dungoens

  • ok guys im in on this comment stuff now how did they decide to come up witht he second quest anyyways i played it and i beat it and eyah i won t lie it was fucking hard and the hardest thing wasnt even finding castle 8 i did that by fluke since iw as so enthrrawled that you can walk through walls that you cant blow up now lol so i randomly blue bombs everywhere and poof a cave hahah lol but yeah hardest thign was finding that regular store with the blue ring in it now that was hard

  • so i was wondering, once you finish the second quest, does it allow you to keep your progress? or does it erase it like with the first quest.

  • The hardest part of the second quest was finding i believe the 8th dungeon. you had to use the ladder and lean across a river and place a bomb.

it took me a long time to find that dungeon.

I recently downloaded Zelda with the Wii and i am playing again with my son

  • "I recently downloaded Zelda with the Wii and i am playing again with my son" That's awesome. There are alot of important values and morals we should teach our children but I think we should also impart to them some of our own childhood/early teen experiences, such as wholesome games we've played as kids as well. I'm not saying games are more important for your child than healthy civilized morals or education of course, that parts up to you.

  • I solved the first quest on April 14th 1988.

My wife and I were awaiting our first child and she was having contractions and the doctor told her to wait until they were two minutes apart before leaving to the hospital. Well we had to wait all night for that to happen and I played Zelda while I set up with her and beat the Ganon around 5am and we left for the hospital just after :)

  • lol you made Hyrule safe for your child to enter, just in time :)

  • what is the difference between the two quests ? is it harder or what.. ?

  • 2nd quest is much harder. The dungeons, stores and secret rooms are in different locations. Harder combinations of enemies are put into the dungeons and the dungeons themselves are rearranged to be freakin hard XD

  • WTF! As much a i love the NES and this game, that ending sucked. But i know it's NES and you can't expect much, holding up the triforce was the best nding. And to be truthful i liked it, unlike the Mario endings where the fat italion plumber gets a kiss. Sorry link, your not getting lucky tonight!

  • Even in the 80's, Koji Kondo knew how to write great video game music.

  • wow men you are great indeed, but i never liked the ending of zelda 1 anyway it was a great game with a horrible ending.. thanks for uploading the 2d quest ending! =D

  • Thats it thank you!!!!1

  • cool!! you passed the game with 0 continues.

    awesome!!

  • Nice, nice...

  • nesrobot: Because it was his "nickname".

  • cone-headed bastards

  • Why do they call Miyamoto, Miyahon?

  • whats the difference

  • The only difference I can see is in the 1st one Link didn't get the Red Ring and Zelda was white like Link and the text when all the shit scrolled up was different.

  • second quest is harder

  • I'll have to try it then!
