I adored this house and would love an update....But the presenter is an annoying, silly twit, and seems to have an obsession about the use of the bottles in the walls. I wish he would stop criticising it ( they look gorgeous)- there must be better than him for a presenter surely.
I could so happily live in this house, light and airy but warm and comforting as well. Great job and I loved how much they did themselves and with volunteers. And loved the use of the tires, great recycling
Those bottled walls look really pretty. The rotunda rumpus-looking room had a really nice eastern Asian feel. All over, the house had a gorgeous rough-but-original look which is really warm to come home to.
i love it that there are still people who are close to nature and willing to live differently, recycle, embrace what's natural and positive. Gotta say, the rough-looking, unfinished touches and textures and niches and whatnot are the true charm of the house, and the earthiness combined paradoxically with a light airiness is amazing. I think this is one of those breathtaking houses that must touch you in some way or another.
wen i was in UK i make sure i dont miss a single episode. im very upset that i cannot watch this programme and can neither use CHANNEL4OD because im back in my country.
lovely house, designers/ building conglomerates dont want you to know you can build your own houses cheaply with little or no money. look up building with cob on utube cob houses are beautiful. cheap and anyone can do it! even in damp climates like uk devon has lots of cob houses hundreds of years old. earthships are very similar but suited to drier climates.
@rolficus - You can find plenty of earthship designs online and can also get the books on how to design & do it yourself on amazon. They're great ideas for living & are completely off the grid. They sort of remind me of a modern take on Bilbo Baggins house. I think they're really cool.
Can you upload more of these?? You should definitely upload some more videos if you can because these are the kinds of videos that keep me sane during a 5 hour lecture in class.
You can build them. There is a community of them somewhere in America. I am helping to build one in my local community park. Its great fun. And the finished product is amazing!
@rottenbot labouring, havent seen whole episode but if it took longer than scheduled and they had no fixed quotes then there wouldve been many more expenditures. or if they changed design ideas throughout the project they wouldve had to pay more to the architect
this is an absolutely lovely house!
