Hey man, thanx a lot for this video! I own a Mac, but heard or read that you couldn't unlock the GNex with a Mac, and thus I tried two different methods on my PC at work, neither of which worked, but both of which were the most freaking annoying faling processes of my life. Thanks for posting this video!!!!!! And I had no idea how to boot into fastboot mode, but from reading the comments, I now know that as well :) Thanks!
@woogetyboogety nah, load of crap. You can unlock the Galaxy Nexus from a Mac, Linux or Windows machine. You just need the right tools, which is adb (android debugging bridge) which can be obtained from the sdk and fastboot which can be downloaded from the internet or you can build it yourself from source (google if you really want to, otherwise, just download the right file for your operating system).
If it says it can't find the folder its because you did not go to the right folder in your terminal. I draged and dropped and it didnt work for me eaither so you have to cd to the folder...google how to do this.
@mulishamaiden88 Make sure your phone is in fastboot mode. Power the device off until it vibrates and then hold down both volume buttons and the power button until you feel another vibrate. There should be an image of a robot with his front panel open.
@zachtaylor2173 Also, make sure your phone is in fastboot mode. Power the device off until it vibrates and then hold down both volume buttons and the power button until you feel another vibrate. There should be an image of a robot with his front panel open.
Great unlocking video. I followed the steps yet when i get to the terminal command part it tells me theres no such file in the directory! is there another place i could put it in order for it to be located by the terminal command when entering? Thanks
@MrWinstonLane Make sure you move the unzipped fastboot file to the platform-tools folder. Also, make sure its named fastboot not fastboot-mac. It has to be in the platform-tools folder because thats where adb (android debugging bridge) is which is how your computer communicates to the phone.
@gatorman55 I'm having the same issue telling me theres no such file directory and have made sure its in the proper folder as well naming it to fastboot.
@MrWinstonLane You need to have the adb-mac (its just adb on the sdk) file as well. This allows files to be transferred to the device. I'm uploading another video for root, you can cd to those folders to unlock the phone, too.

@jobarobe Checklist:
1) is it in platform-tools of the sdk?
2) is adb present in the folder (should be)
3) fastboot should not be inside its own folder, it comes that way so it can be zipped and placed as a file to download online.
