  • Very informative, thanks. I tried soldering a Deans connector with a 25w iron last week, and it nearly drove me insane. Needless to say, it was a complete failure! I realize now that I need something in the 40w-60w range with a good temp control.

  • Great Video and very helpful. I also like to work desk you have there. Wish I had room in my unit for one of those :)

  • For all of you British chaps that keep posting comments about pronouncing it "Sodder" in stead of "soul-der", please stop! I will simply erase the post. That is how we say it over here so get used to it. When you stop prunouncing Aluminum like " Al-You-Mini-Um", them you can say something about the way we pronounce the word Solder.

  • Nice job..

  • good vid tho lol

  • Thank you. This was a well recorded instructional video.

  • Nice video, very good tutorial, next time point the sharp part of your modelling knife to the other side

  • Beautiful job! Awesome tutorial! Thanks for the tips. Where do you get that small vice you are using?

  • It is a 40 watt Weller Iron with a 3/16 wide chisel tip.

  • What iron are you using?

  • Nice tutorial. Thanks. A better camera angle would've been nice for the moment of actual soldering, though.

  • Yes, that is the size tip I use on my soldering iron.

  • My soldering iron has an .25'' chisel tip. Is this alright to use?

  • Great video Lucien. Deans are challenging with large wires.

Do you like Deans better or Eflite E3's?

  • ty

  • Thanks for the great tip of putting the soldering iron inbetween the wire & the connector.

  • The one thing I'd like to see in R/C is an affordable and sufficiently idiot-proof crimping connector system. Soldering may be sufficient, but crimp connections are still superior.

  • where can i get deans connetor

  • @ILOVEDRUMING You should get them at most stores setting RC electronics.

  • nice job well done :)

  • Thanks man, that was very informative and well put together.

  • good job dude.

    very well done indeed.

  • Great job! Thanks Lucien!

  • Thanks Lucien. Nice to see a face to go with the voice. I like the technique of putting a little solder on the iron and putting the iron between the wire and the connector. Good idea and looks strong. Thanks again.

  • Nicely done, those are beautiful joints. +1 for remembering to put the shrink tubing on first!
