I laugh everytime I hear somebody describe Mantovani's masterpieces as "elevator music".....what a joke....this guy was a genius and so was his arranger.
when I was a young lad in London, had the chance to see Mantovani in rehearsals when he was recording for 'Decca'. Even in rehearsals all the bows on the violins were in sequence together.........lovely man!!
What a richly delicious sound! Does anyone perform this music like this anymore? I grew up on this kind of music and really miss it, there's not much quality out in the music world that i ever hear anymore.
My mother has always said that the golden age of elegance is gone. Ralph Lauren in an interview said "That back then, there were more heroes in the world, and the world was a bit more magical"
Ahh another great beautiful music artist. Mantovani was the Percy Faith of the UK. I have so many of his cd's. This song was one of my favorites. Also another fav of mine from Mantovani is Leaving On A Jet Plane.
You seem to be wanting to force me to choose another browser other than Google. You folks need to realize I don't make any changes to my computers unless I know what I am doing. You provide no real reason other than a modern browser and/or I will not be able to use the modern features. I need more than this or I just quit using my favorites and U-Tube. Its kind of sad but I sure have enjoyed the items put on by the public.
@davandra019 It's strange to hear someone speak of being a projectionist in the "old days." During WWII, when my brothers were drafted in the Army, I replaced them as the head operator at the then-new Redskin Theatre, in Oklahoma City. I was about 15 at the time. I am 82 now, and I can still thread up the Simplex 7 machines (in my head).

Another one of my favourites, thank you. I used to have a vinyl collection of Mantovani, sadly they have disappeared forever.
