When I heard this song I think more and more how often to we seek the depths of truth within art. Jill Scott is everything of what an artist is and should be. She sold her performance with something far more priceless than any "so called" necessity to capture the senses. That's "Soul"..If anyone who didnt feel this joint is clearly emotionally numb and artistically dumb. Jill I love U..there's none other like you.
Wow, there were so many different elements to her performance, and all on point. There was a story and substance to her lyrics, and while metaphoric and universal the message is still absolutely clear. While her vocals weren't as fluid as normal, I see why, she focused on the emotions. She committed to the song without overselling it like many singers. And above it all the music had it's own flavor that was uniquely Jill Scott and not someone else. I love it, way to represent Philly Jill.
