jason father came to our school at bonar law high school because bullying was happen in our school, so he came up to new brunswick to talk about this story and it touch my heart RIP jason
I lived in Taber for a year and had a blast! Good times, not a bad place, but definitely more to it when you peel back the covers, not as straight forward as it appears to the newcomer or passerby.
it was a .22 sawed off shot gun. i know this because i just met jasons father. and i heard the story from him, himself. RIP jason. your greatly missed
K for one it was a .22 not a shotgun! and bullying is always goin to take place verbaly or physicaly it does not mean that shooting somone is the answer! that 14 year old has something wrong in his head!
i live in taber we actually got back from a family trip the day this happened. SO SAD. This lady i know says her son felt really guilty about this because he was one of the bullies and he feels like he should have been the one to die. people need to learn that bullying is a very powerful thing and the consequences can be fatal.
i go to this school and my brothers basketball coach was the one who stopped the kid from shooting more people... my brother was in the school at the time that this shooting happened...
Taber IS a shit hole. I've lived there my entire life, and just graduated from Myers last spring. ('09) And I can honestly say life outside of that town is SO much better.
ha we moved to taber like right after this happend! taber rocks my world! and wr myers is the best school ever! cant belive this happend though so sad!
school shootings can be prevented, its called stop bullying. i learned if i had a problem with gophers or other pest animals i trap or shoot them or the problem gets worse. if we think bullys are any different because they are human think again. the bullys have lowered themselves down the food chain ladder. thats why dylan and eric killed.
Me and my friend Heartshapedglases143 did an essay for school about this. Check it out on youtube.
Tragedy In Taber.
"For the first while, there were changes. But after a while, it went back to how it was. The people who went to school with me, it changed them a lot. But now everybody's graduated, and it's gone back to the same old cycle," Bell said. "If [Jason] were to come back and see how things are again now, I think he'd be pretty disappointed ... because it just went back to Taber."
Actually, you would be surprised how much things are different. I just graduated from Myers in 08 and sharing stories with my cousin who was there when the shooting took place, I can confidently say that at least the school has changed.
jason lang could have prevented this if he never was a bully the shooter, im not saying what the shooter did was right, cause it was not, but this is why you should not pick on anybody
W.R. Myers... I go there now and I see bullying and Teasing everywhere, things haven't changed... I am in the 10th grade, I am basically the outcast, I know that inside the pain is enormous but things CAN be solved another way, I think that it was this year or next that the kid who shot Jason is going to be released, I hope he has learned this... I'm not implying to anyone that he or anyone else for that matter is innocent, I am just voicing my opinion... I pray this never happens again...
i was there and i saw what happened i was so scared i ran he said nobody try to stop me or ill kill u and i went to get the teacher but by the time i got there jason my best firend he died it was all my fault i was too late! i should kill that lil fucking bastered for killing my best firend and i will never forget this he should be sentence to death for killing my best firend and killing ones family member. i will always remember my best firend Jason. Rest in peace my good firend hope u live ok.
He did a horrible thing but that does not make him a horrible person. He has to live with his demon every day of his life, he's paid a huge price for what he did but that does not make him less of a person then you or are I. It is human nature to fight back when your hurting and we all cope with things diffrently as far as i know he tried to ignore it but it didn't go away.. so he fought back the only way he could through extreme violence. TS is a good man regarless of his mistake.
taber sucks ass! i used to go there im in lethbridge now n every time i go bak i see alot of assholes that still think theyr hot shit but will never get outa thats shit hole...small fish in a small pound syndrome
honestly guys.. everyone knows what happended.. abuse and bullying will always be abuse and bullying .. wether its physical or mental.. soo to bash those who assumed when they heard bullying to be physical its an honest mistake...
i went to that school when i was younger and good thing i moved 3 days before it happened if i ever see that guy who did it well i wont say but he will get his that piece of shit what a fuckin loser i can say that now cuz he is a fuckin murderer he deseved gettin picked on cuz he is a piece of shit and i hate the fact that jason langs dad forgave that lil shit fuck him
Some people just dont know. I go to W.r.myers highschool.I am also good friends with Jasons younger sister, and i play sports with her. The lang family is sooo nice and i hope nothing in any nature griefs them again. I still have some of the teachers that were there that day. one of my teachers talked to todd when this was all happening, she told him to get to class and he responded by saying he didnt want to hurt her and told her to shut up.
You basters have never been bullied in your life. Lang, the PREACHER'S son, was one of the bullies. Who is ever going to go against the preacher's saintly jock son? A nerdy outcast was tormented. Have you ever had lighter fluid thrown on you? This was self defense.
Lang had never even met the shooter. And Lang was NOT a 'jock'. And this was NOT self defense, the Bullying the media kept going on about, it happened 2-3 years prior to the shooting.
Stop making stupid comments that have no basis on fact.
For those of you who are watching this video, the kid who did the shooting shot a .22 RIFLE... --NOT-- a shot-gun. If you are going to make a video like this, include the CORRECT information.
You have NO idea what you are talking about. I appreciate the kind video but I was there, he may have been bullied verbally but NEVER physically. Jason and the other boys he shot at never hurt him and they had to pay the price. There is something wrong with Tod and to this day he is still considered dangerous. He has escaped from the detention center many times and will not be released due to his condition. He needs help. If it wheren't for Rev Lang I wouldn't be able to even talk about it.
Forget it. I'm not even gonna argue anything with you. Sorry I mentioned your first name. My bad. People of Taber will believe whatever they want. I'm just glad I don't live in Taber anymore.
when he was in first grade i heard that someone poured lighter fluid on his head and threatened to set him on fire. poor kid and his unfortunate victim
the shooter did not kill go to school with a shotgun because he was bullied. The kid was really F*@cked up because of his family. His family are all whack jobs. Trust me. I know the Smiths first hand. If the cop wasn't there, he would have done more damage.
another taber guy here...i was at st.mary's when this happened but had lots of family and friends at myers...this brings back a very shitty time...but it's good to remember.
I was a studend at W.R Myers school, and was in Grade 9 the year of the shooting. Same grade as the shooter. I really found it offensive when I seen "the cause of the boys actions were simple." because if whoever wrote this had done some research they would realize alot more is going on. Bullying is a horrible event and is never okay and I am not trying to justify it. However millions of people are bullied and do not choose to take a gun and kill someone.
In my Health class we are doing a thing on school shootings and bullying and i chose this one .. this is a really touching video by the way and song made it more touching well yeah i cant believe how anyone could do this to someone.
I grew up being told that if I behaved and conducted myself in a civilised manner then I would be treated with respect. When I was bullied & made fun of, I didn't see any teacher run over and admonish my antagonists.
When the popular kids turned up late for class, stoned or whatever, I never saw anyone in a hurry to punish them to infringing a regulation. I guess I was misinformed about what to expect from life.
I went to the high school where it happened. My best friend was the shooter. I have alot of sympathy for the columbine victims as well as victims from other school shootings.
Yeah i used to live by taber my mom worked a Lamweston and we lived in a little village called Grassy Lake and we arived at grassy about a year after it happend.
Yeah. I graduated from there in 2002. Was there when it happened and was best friends with the guy who did it. Really sad. Were you living in Taber when all this took place Cran64?
Tasha it is so very sad that kid like to bully other young people! And we old people have to figure out how to stop it! But part of the plan the Bully has, is to make sure we are not told about it!
