  • You know when mtv just said kurt cobain just comit a suicide ... I was eating and you know after those words ... my world just became in shade of grey ...

    Kurt i miss you buddy

  • Why don't we hear any live Nirvana on the radio stations? It's always the same old classics off of Nevermind. C'mon!! Damn corporate radio stations. There are so many great live Nirvana songs that could be played.

  • The only person I have any respect for as a songwriter over the last 10 years is Kurt Cobain. He was the perfect cross between Lennon and McCartney. He belted it out like Lennon, but his melodies were so Paul McCartney. They were dead bouncy up and down - jolly melodies - but he was a miserable fuck at the same time. Noel Gallagher, quoted in Guitar World (1996-05).

  • remember watching Kurt come through and thinking, "God, this music is nuclear," This is really splitting the atom. They raised the temperature for everybody. Manufactured pop never looked so cold as when that heat was around. Nirvana made everything else look silly. Bono, quoted in Lorraine Ali, "Cries From The Heart," Newsweek (2002-10-28).

  • best band ever folks.

  • 3:45 the BEST headbanging EVER!!!

  • killr

  • Love this concert ♥

  • I taped this off of MTV and watched it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

  • Kurt's hair looks awesome!!

  • Nirvana kicked major ass!!!

  • It's kinda creepy see kurt walking at the beggining with the lights off.

  • That ending was sick! Even through my computer screen it still gives me a rush of adrenaline and deep inside a feeling of nostalgia. RIP Kurt

  • Darn, I misheard the second lyric. I heard it as "I think you know our policy" But sites list it as "Invasion of our piracy" Now I'm hearing it in the latter way.

  • invasion of our piracy

  • heroin !

  • 3:56 holy shit, Dave!

  • one of the best shows ever played.

  • nirvana is my all time favorite band. it's just too bad i'll never get to see them play live. watching this is the next best thing.

  • Release a fucking DVD/Blu-ray of this concert including the rehearsel!!

    1993

  • @Cagnam

    12/13/1993

  • Great song

  • 4:20

  • I remember watching this show on mtv and how unbelievably in awe i was at just how much better they were than any other band on the planet. This fucking rocks.

  • Name me one band as good as Nirvana today? I'll wait. 3 year later.....

  • @royalsteven THEM CROOCKED VULTURES QOTSA MUSE

  • Oh, Foo Fighters!

  • @royalsteven I would say Pearl Jam, if any but yet again they've had year and years going from the same era. Other wise from the year 2000 until now, I have a lot of trouble trying thinking of one ;)

  • Yes maybe Pearl Jam. I think Foo Fighters or Rage, but they are from the 90's also :D From 2000 maybe White Stripes or Arcade Fire and some underground rap. But they are not nearly as mindblowing as Nirvana :D

  • @royalsteven Depends on what you mean by "As good as Nirvana". I can name two bands I enjoy very much - The New Pornographers and Flipron. They're nothing like Nirvana though.

  • Well equally as good musically, performing live, influential, impact, the whole package. I don´t think any band in the new millenium is as big or good as Nirvana. The 90's had way more competition.

  • @royalsteven That's a pretty high bill, Nirvana are one of the most successful bands. If you're looking for a band very, very similar to Nirvana you'll probably never find them. And how is it even possible for them to be as influential unless they were also like The Beatles who had people going crazy over them?

  • Um dos melhores shows do nirvana *----*

  • Dave was beating the CRAP out of that drum set!! Nice!!

  • nice video... I AM THE PROVIDER

  • READ!

It's not a good idea to go to biebers video & click the dislike button cause every time we go to his video he gets payed a few cents cause his vid's sponsered. Instead we pick songs like this & get as many people as we can to watch so by the 1st of march on biebers birthday all rock videos will be most viewed +fav on youtube charts. This will get the younger audience to listen to good music & might have good rock bands form again.PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE! THUMBS UP

  • @rubberneckful shut up about him, even when wankers like you talk about him negatively it contributes to his fan base, just stop im tierd of it

  • Comment removed

  • pat throwing his cig at 0.37 was pretty bad ass :)

  • thanks... this is a gem. i taped it off tv when i was a kid.. doesn't work now. big up!!!

  • nirvana has nothing to do with "grunge". grunge is a fucking lame assed title that music critics stapled onto a "scene" that somehow got caught in between rock and punk. nirvana is more punk than anything. nirvana has always been good and original with or without the fame, its a shame that people let the "fame" thing get in the way of enjoying a good band. pearl jam is basically shit. any dumb fuck can be talented at their instruments, but try to structure a good song like nirvana. you cant.

  • @mcfurly This is the first comment that I read in years, about only thing in life that matters;NIRVANA, that makes fckn sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    MCFURLY Im ur dedicated follower

    Petar, Croatia

  • @mcfurly

actually nirvana based a lot of their song structures around the pixies.

  • @sytmatt nirvana used the same song writing format as the pixies. loud in the verse quiet in the chorus or vise versa. the musical term is called dynamics

  • best nirvana tune going

  • he never use the jag stang live??

i read a little and says he do play with jag stang some

    in utero concerts but...

    I CANT FOUND THE VIDEOS!!

    help me... TT.TT

  • @AcidParanoid well its gonna be hard to find cause he didnt like the guitar at all really

  • @AcidParanoid I believe he used it in Rome when he played Very Ape live

  • Dave's snare sounds phat

  • They're tearing down Pier 44 where this was shot in Seattle. Sad day.

  • I remember watching this on New Year's Eve! I was only about 13 or 14 then....damn I feel old!

  • @LadyofWar1980 I was that age in '93 too. I remember being blown away at how awesome this was. I hate being old! Screw it, grunge for life. Don't forget Foo Fighters concert in europe (eur-ok Im-ok) that was equally awesome.

  • What guitar was kurt using?????

  • @dagrither147 Mustang!

  • Love to blast this song whenever I'm feeling down. Thank you Kurt

  • @AJBUCSFAN fuck you asshole it was just a question

  • Kurt, i love you and will always miss you

  • for a SECOND in the beginning I thought this was NOXSHI . . .

  • I'm not going to say Pat Smear made Nirvana better live but i like how with his intensity he made the made a wii bit more fast paced, i think it's kinda fun to watch

  • what does kurts shirt say?

  • love thad s.s.decontrol shirt

  • @joed424 *that

  • OH MY GOD BEST CONCERT EVER ! FUCK! AWESOME!

  • cigarette burn's...

  • AWESOME CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Que de bon souvenir !!

  • fucking love nirvana

  • Greatest band ever... too bad we'll never get to see a show like this again.

  • has someone the CD of this show with a few other live songs?

  • pat smear doesnt know how to move on stage

  • Is there a DVD of that?!?!? I WANT !!!

  • thank you kurt!! i love you so much :D

  • The guitar Kurt's using is a 65' 1993 reissue Sonic Blue Fender Mustang Japanese Lefty with Red Tortoise Pickguard. Single Coil Neck Pickup full sized Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker. Dean Markley 10-52 strings. What Pedal Effects and Amplifier did he use during this concert?

  • @lolita88love2 such a beautiful guitar.

  • A super powerful performance of this song. Great pick to open the show with. Geez, when will MTV put out this show on DVD. It would be a #1 seller for sure!

  • love it

  • its not self loathing its just not giving a fuck

  • I love how agressive they were this show, this along with the reading festival have to be their two best live performances. Kurt always rose to the ocassion on the biggest stages, unplugged, reading, and this are probably all in the top 10 for live performances by any band of all time, though admittedly nirvanas normal live shows weren't all that great. Except when kurt put his mind to something his talent superceded anyone elses.

  • @shane31lv dude...define good.

cause i love it when he fucks up songs for fun, cause i've heard the studio versions so many times that i pretty much love everything that comes from his guitar.

    but i know watcha mean.

  • This has to be one of the best live performances of all time. I just can't stop watching this concert. For those of you who dont know, Pearl Jam was supposed to play this gig as well but bailed like a week prior. Goddamn i was 10 when this went on i'm 26 now and I still can't believe how great they are.

  • Kurt is the best, hands down

  • Fuck.... I love this Guitar.... But i can't find i anywhere and it would sure as hell cost a fortune..

  • My water broke

    Wich I was there

Nirvana Live And Loud is the best

  • @94rickygarcia I wonder what Kurt would think about today's music.

  • Grohl is a beast on those drums...

  • fuck i cant stop laghuing... this is fucking funny at 3:47, look at kurdt, looks like he have epilepsia (thats the name in english) srry for bad english, and nothing against moving when playing XD

  • I wish i could hav been at this concert and met Kurt and got that blue jagstang guitar especially cause I play lefty RIP KURT COBAIN

  • Right, but this is not a jagstang ! It's a mustang !

  • @saimon1969 im sorry your right

  • what was nirvanas first band name?

  • the sellouts,i think

  • i could be wrong but im pretty sure its the bliss

  • Actually it was Skid Row I think...kind of a shame lol

  • im not sure but i think it was "fecal matter"

  • Fecal Matter.

  • This is my seventh favourite thing, next to Kurt Cobain, bagels, The Who, Music and Nirvana

  • what a gig, amazing!!!!!

  • @tyson10682 The best Nirvana gig ever caught on film imo.

  • wouldn't that kick butt if kurdt was still alive?!

  • That depends, He wasn't content with the whole rock star living.

  • does anyone know where i can find nirvana live and loud on dvd?

  • Hi,

Does anyone know how i can get Nirvana Live and Loud on MP3? I love it!!

    Thanx

  • download with soulseek

  • I agree Grunge never died but "Grunges sounds like an insult or something. I just call it "free-minded-beings."

    Haahaa!

  • i think I would shoot my self but i had like 2 years in 94 so... I heard nirvana like till 10 years old but I still get depress for such a waste of talent

    R.I.P KURT COBAIN

  • u really gotta wonder just how many people commited suicide soon after hearing the news of kurts "suicide"..

  • Yes but I'm sure some people killed themselves after Michael Jackson died too. And John Lennon. And Elvis. Anyone who even thinks of doing that just because their favorite musician died needs help.

  • @101Volts when kurt cobain died alot of teenagers killed themselves

  • @Milesback1 Yes, I realize that must have happened. Its really stupid.

  • I keep coming back to these videos. Man theyre going crazy here.

  • when was this concert recorded? 93 or 94?

  • december 1993

  • this isnt grunge you assholes after the people named nevermind grunge in utero was just more hardcore and critics said they went away from grunge

  • @Gowolves95

But bands like Pearl Jam are also grunge and sound absolutely nothing like Nirvana at all. It isn't so much the sound, as Grunge = Punk + 80s metal. In Utero was simply less radio friendly and raw. Grunge is just as much about the area (Seattle), the attitude (self-loathing at least a little, hatred/discomfort with fame) and the humbleness then it is what it sounds like.

  • @FyreNail2 pearl jam doesn't really sound like nirvana becouse like kurt said nirvana is more punk rock and becouse it was in the area of seattle and it sounded a little like grune evry one said it was grunge but according to kurt it was punk but in my opinion they are both freaking good

  • @FyreNail2 thats what i love about nirvana there awesome unique sound

  • @FyreNail2 Grunge is an alternative name for alternative rock that has just a bit more guts and roughness. There's no Grunge for real.

  • @FyreNail2 Grunge to me is 1st. Attitude 2nd. Guitars 3rd. Seattle. Jerry Cantrell said they were a Metal band. Kurt said they were a Punk band. Certainly every Seattle band was influenced by many bands and genres. every band was influence by Sabbath and Zeppelin, but Kurt was inspired by 80's Punk and Indie rock

  • @FyreNail2 agreed but pearl jam are stadium rock from seattle basicly, grunge or i mean real grunge(nirvana, mudhoney, green river, malfunkshun*, afghan wigs, L7, etc is influenced by late 70's punk and 60-70's hard rock and you can tell that through their music, alice in chains at least had a real grunge sound to them though they took thier surburban metal roots to it but pearl jam just sound like a rock band, their a great rock band but to put them in the grunge category is just wrong

  • @FyreNail2 ya but pearl jam shouldnt count cause eddie vedder is just a dude with long hair singing about how sad he is with a rock band behind him, grunge is nirvana, mudhoney, L7, afghan wigs, green river, aka heavy metal with punk overtones, pearl jam are just an arena rock band

  • @FyreNail2 no pearl jam grunge is punk with 80's metal, even though only 2 of the members have any punk roots, eddie was in a RHCP cover band and now he wants to be grunge, no he and pearl jam are MTV grunge not Grunge

  • @FyreNail2 depends, i dont find they sound like grunge, pearl jam are a depressing hard rock band, in other words they were post grunge while grunge was in the limelight, and grunge is more real grunge is more punk + 70's metal, pearl jam is 80's metal + Arena Rock, they didnt even have the attitude or background and thats why they were always talked shit about, theyre a great hard rock band but grunge IMO they are not

  • @FyreNail2 Grunge is the name used by the media to make money. The music at the time needed a label behind it, you can't sell nothing but you can sell grunge. Crappy bands like pearl jam shouldn't be in the same genre as the melvins.

  • @ItsNotColdEnough pearl jam isnt crappy, u just like more heavier music i like metal too but i like melody even more which is why i like pearl jam.melvins r good but pearl jam doesn't suck.

  • @antipopboner Are you seriously telling me which bands are crappy and which ones are not? I happen to dislike pearl jams music, don't tell me they're good, thats all on you. If you like them, then listen to them. I don't so i wont.
