  • i guess some ppl r more protein sincitive than others, cause most of those products have protein in them, i have an overload right now n im afraid to put anything with protein 4 now, im using the infusium 23 products which is protien free, n shae butter mixture with olive oil an castor oil only, oh n i use bottled water only , n i do a porosity treatment wkly, and a deep condition with DPR 11 by elasta QP, im starting to feel my hair coming back too normal in just 2 wks.

  • I love your energy! i'm a curly girl (3a/3b) and although I am Caucasian , I enjoy "black" hair care products because my hair texture is close to mixed sister (adopted). My hair soaks up conditioners and oils just like her hair! I'm gonna make some of this for me and my sis and her daughter. I love your videos and subscribed instantly!!! Oh and is mane & tail silicone & sulfate free?

  • Thanx for the reply...I appreciate it. I'm gonna try the protrin tip and see if it works. Once again thanx for the reply.

  • Maybe you have product build up... even shampoos leave a build up.

  • Hi I'm new to this world (being natural), I have a question: how do u know if u r protein sensitive and how do u find out?

  • @mommasgur01 try a protein treatment and if your hair feels really dry and brittle you are protein sensitive the only way to know is to try

  • @tiannadeshon how can you fish it after? I just tried this like an hour ago i never even knew about being protein sensitive or anything my hair feels horrible. i was just wondering if there is anything i can use to make it better or if it just goes back to normal after a few days on its own.

  • @wormo239 deeeeeeep condition if it feels really dry itll just get worse if youu dont!

  • @tiannadeshon ok thanks. Do you suggest any thing in particular to deep condition with?

  • " Armpit Lenght" you are too funny.

  • I clicked the "like" button as soon as i heard you say "I'm a G" lol

  • If you let the Shea butter just soften (like room temperature) or put it in the microwave just to soften it a little the using a blender or hand blender to mix everything.. You should get a more creamy look instead of the water or that throw up look you talked about..lol

  • @tetebaby1313 Lol thanks love=)

  • @tetebaby1313 i agree, i melt my shea butter in the microwave to soften it up a bit.

  • how do i find out if my hair is protien sensitve or not?

  • pleez check out my very first video i have post sub and rate!! how long has it been since it been since you combed your hair? whoop! whoop! thrift stores!! lol!!

  • pleez check out my very first video i have post sub and rate!!

  • I like your vids. Thanks. Can you please when you have the time post the benefits of certain ingredients or why you chose that ingredient over another? Thank you so much for your time and energy. It's good to see AA women doing things.

  • @TyraNeche Sure! In fact I will do a video on it and post it around the beginning of February so stay tuned. Thanks for watching and your support love!

  • Gurl, you crazy! (In a wonderful way! :D) I loved your video, and all the box comments that kept popping up!! I'm on my own hair journey, and I think your "protein free" recipe might just save my life (or at least my hair!). Right now I'm trying to keep my hair from breaking further w/all the protein I threw at it, like a fool. Bright blessings, and keep the videos coming!

  • @starler Awww thanks love for watching and good luck with the treatment. I hope it helps

  • Hey...jus wnted 2 say that i tried this concoction the other day....and it works great for my hair. It's stil very moisturized, soft & no sheddin whatsoever....thank U so much 4 sharin this recipe..i realy needed sumtin like this cuz..Iam highly proten sen Ques..how often do u use this...every time u wash? or do u hav a routine?..Oh n I used tea trea as essential/ tresseme natural as conditioner/ the same olive oil...Girl I luv it thanks again

  • @MsSwtGirl1 That's great! I am so glad it has worked for you! No I no longer use this after every wash. Right now, I only use this treatment after wearing my hair in protective styles for several weeks.

  • @AdamsRib84 yea that makes sense...it does leave hair very moisturized though..1st time using it...n I think I'll space it out too. Thanks a lot...& have a hapy and safe thanks giving Be well!!!

  • you are TOOOOOO funny, my days lolz :)

  • @angi0517 Well I'm no expert but from experience, if you notice breakage after saturating your hair with oil, you may be OVER moisturizing it. In that case, (although this has never happened to me) I would try a LIGHT protein treatment so that your hair can have that balance. When styling my hair, I only use a styling agent every other night. My hair loves pure shea butter as well however, after a while, shea butter will make your hair "look" dull and dengy. Use it sparingly. I hope this helped

  • Do U still use this method??? ...oh I luv ur rambling..it's so funy ( :

  • @MsSwtGirl1 LOL thanks. I don't even realized I'm doing it most of the time=) Yes I do use this method. Usually after I have had my hair braided up several weeks. The only thing is now, I no longer use the cocoa butter. It's not necessary.

  • @AdamsRib84 oh..ok..yea its a very interesting method..which might be good for me, being Iam protein sensitive..Thanks

  • I thought I was the only one w/tempermental hair!

  • Yay! My hair is PS too. And it's acting funny after 2 yrs NO heat completely natural. Folks don't get it when i say that. I don't get it either! I recently flat ironed and that helped me to see all the knots and splits and just cut those out by dusting. But, yeah, it's totally different. In the past, this was the point where I relaxed my hair into oblivion.

LOL 'I didn't know what the heck Y'ALL *points* was talkin about,' was cute. Thank you for mentioning about getting the correct amla oil.

  • @083770 Thanks for watching love=) Wow no heat! That's freaking awesome! Your hair must be extremely healthy and luscious!

  • how do u know when ur hair is protein sensitive?

  • @measchueax I promise I will do a video to answer this question in more detail because I get it all the time. My answer is longer than the comment box can hold so please stay tuned for that vid for more detail. I will say this that intitally you will not know if your hair protein sensitive unless you experiment w/ protein based products (i.e hair mayo, aphogee products, almond oil, avocado etc.). My hair becomes very dry & "crunchy" when I use these products. Hope this helps for the meantime

  • I just LOVE your videos!!!! You bring great information as well as a good laugh. LOL!!! I do have a question. What are some sympton's that your hair is protein sensitive? I have seen a few people mention the term but they never say what the symptoms are. Thanks!

  • I really love you vids. So informative!!!!!

  • @tmchun Thanks love! I can be all over the place at times so I'm relieved that it helped. Thanks for watching

  • i have a ridiculous question: what do you use to pull your hair back into that gorgeous puff? a head band? a stretched out hair band??

  • @jellysofa Lol that's not a ridiculous question love! First of all I'm not sure if you were aware but this is a phony pony in my hair in this video. However, when doing my real puffs, I use either a nylon stalking or a stretched out head band....whichever one I can find at the time Lol

  • @AdamsRib84 oh wow! haha i had no clue :P...oh okay good to know, i think i'll try that!

    you're gorgeous, btw

    thanks so much!

  • @jellysofa Awww thanks love and you're welcome=)

  • Honey is a moisturizer for hair. No protein. LOL Yeah, I'm learning myself and just found out that Avocado and almond butters are protein.

  • @adamsribs, so sorry it took me this long to respond. but since i have oily hair, some spots are still dry (around my edges) but i shampoo once a week, condition daily.

  • your so bubbly, i love it! xxxxx

  • @rinaloveyou1996 Awwww thanks suga! I really enjoy making these vids! It's really fun

  • LOls so funny , I love yur vids already nd I just subscribe

  • @kaykayhype6 Awww LOL! Thanks girlie for subbing=) It's amazing to me b/c I really don't "try" to be funny but as you can see, I have some serious issues LOL....but Im working on it

  • luvvv your hair It reminds me of mine my hair is esp protien sensitive as well, but just so you know Giovanni SAS has protien in it but oddly its a protien that my hair likes!

  • @txw8065 Thanks love=) Yes I did realize that Giovanni has protein. Fortunately, its at the bottom and its a very mild protein (soybean) so my hair can handle it in small amounts. I think I posted that within the video as a precaution but let me make sure that I did. Thanks for the heads up

  • how do u know if your hair is protein sensitive? and what do it mean when a product gives you a headache?

  • @khiema Headache? Did I say that? I'm not sure why I said that, I will view the video again and see what I was referring to. Anyway, check your inbox for the protein question. The answer is a little long=)

  • Thank you for the video. May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.

  • @naturally4us Thanks love! I hope it was helpful. Be blessed sis

  • I'm not trying to be rude but why would you not comb your hair? Hair tangles. I'm just a bit confused thats it.

  • @LeticiaRamirezTV That's not a rude question love=) It was simply a challenge I was trying. I did it for about of month. Instead of combing my hair with an actual comb, I finger combed it which is less abrasive to the hair. This method is not a favorite of all naturals but some of love it. I actually prefer a comb because it's quicker so I probably wont be doing the challenge again but I'm glad I tried it

  • @AdamsRib84 lol OH! ok i thought thats wat u meant b/c i occasionally finger comb also thnx love :)

  • @LeticiaRamirezTV No problem sis!

  • I'm glad to find someone who has very protein sensative hair! I can't explain how much money I have spent on products. My hair pretty ,much hates everything I throw on it. It did lie the Miss jessies buttercreame and deep conditiner, but too expensive for me to buy all the time. thank you so much, My hair loves the natural products.

  • @salamsabee No problem love! Yes indeed, Miss Jessie products are very expensive but I've heard pretty good things about them. However, I've never personally used them....just can't afford it=( A friend of mine who has been natural for 10 plus years told me the reason why most naturals tend to be so "protein sensitive" is b/c natural hair produces more natural protein than relaxed hair. Pretty interesting huh? That is why my hair LOVED protein when I was relaxed...now it hates it!

  • @AdamsRib84

I swear, I have spent so much time ad money on products that just damaged my hair or made it feel like straw. It seems every black product out on the market is protein hell! Miss Jessies creame and deep conditioner are the TRUTH! It sems some naturals can eat up the protein? i always found that ODD! my hair just has a nasty attitude! lol! Our hair is similar, so I'm glad to have bumped into your page and hair type. A product tha i dont care for either is Cantu Shea.

  • I have one question. Being that i am only 16 and i am newly natural journey i do not know if my hair is protein sensitive can you please tell me what to look for because i use cantu shea butter leave in conditioner and i heard it has a lot of protein

  • @Andrea29556 First let me ask you how long have you been using the cantu shea butter? Have you noticed a "brittleness" at the ends of your hair? Does your hair feel or appear dry? These are all the signs of protein overload. I absolutely LOVED the cantu shea butter when I first went natural. It's still the only product to this day that defined my twistouts so perfectly. However, my hair started to break BADLY! Come to find out, cantu was the culprit. Check your inbox for the rest of this message

  • @AdamsRib84 i have been using it for about 2 months and it depends on the way i use it whether or not my hair turns out dry. if i apply it to my hair and just wear it in an afro it turns VERY dry but if i put it in 2 strand twist and let them sit overnight and pick them out in the morning my hair is VERY soft

  • my hair is oily and im black (Jamaican), it all depends on the person

  • @iluvnyc07 You are very right Iluvnyc07. It does depend on the person. I just did this particular video b/c a few of my subscribers and I have really dry hair so I figured there was some type of connection. So with your hair being oily, how often do you have to wash your hair.....if you don't mind me asking?

  • you're really pretty =D thanks so much im gonna try this conditoner. i dont know anything about the protien thing though because i have medium thickness, straight hair. i am so clueless about the protien/no protien thing....but ill try it anyway!! <3 thanks so much ill sub!

  • @CrossCountry4Lyffe Awww thanks sweetie:) I hope this works for you. May I ask what ethnicity are you? The reason why I ask is b/c African American hair tends to be a bit more dry and "protein senstive" than Caucasian hair. Many of my Caucasian friends tend to have oily, over moisturized hair. However, it truly just depends on the person. If you still want to try this, just make sure you use a little. It can be too mositurizing if you use too much. Thanks for subbing in advanced:)

  • @AdamsRib84 hi again! im caucasian, but although my hair is oily at the roots, i have heat damage and dry ends. so i tried a little on the ends and it was great. thanks again!

  • @CrossCountry4Lyffe Awesome! Im so happy it worked out=)

  • jus found u today and like watchd all ur vids :)))

    subbing!!'

  • @vannagoesnatural Awww thanks lady:)

  • lol, your funny!

  • @Prime1018 Lol!!! Yeah I can be a hot mess at times. I really dont try to be though:)

  • Visited Sage Naturalseuticals while in ATL. Wonderful store and the owner was as nice as you said she was. Will do a video on what I purchased. Thanks again ;-)

  • @concedenothing Great!!!!!!!!! I cant wait to see what cha got!!! Keep me posted:)

  • I'm A G!!!!!! Luv it! Can't beat that with a stick!

Like the video & your concoction You should write the acronym book for naturals... just a thought!

  • where did u get ur ponytail puff and wats the name of it?

  • @diandrab1 Hey there! I got it at a local BSS. This particular store was the only store that I could find that sold the "big" puffs. Are you in ATL? If not, the company name is called Afro Beauty. Im not quite sure if you can order it.

  • loving the hair

  • @kidmclain Thanks Love!

  • So all you have on your hair now in this video is the MNT detangler and shea butter and eco olive oil gel? How often do you put them on your protective style in week/day? Do you wash it out before reapplying?

    Thanks

  • @TaShar16 Well actually....no. I use the MNT detangler however, I have not used it for 2 weeks since Ive implemented the no comb method (Just finger comb w/conditioner). There was really no point of using it since I haven't been combing my hair. So all I have in my hair currently is giovanni direct leave-in (moisturizer), shea butter (sealer), and eco styler Krstal gel (The strongest hold). The gel has such a strong hold, you simply only have to smooth it down. I hope this helps!

  • @AdamsRib84 Thank you

  • Is there a particular group you are doing that is doing the product swap? Is anyone welcome?

  • @KreativeKutie Hey love....yes the name of the specific group is called Atlanta Naturals and yes anyone is welcome. However, you must go on the website (Meetup.com), join the group (Atlanta Naturals), and then RSVP to get the address. However, if it's easier I can give it to you. Are you in Atl? If not, there are other cities around the country that have these same type of groups as well.

  • @AdamsRib84 Well I have signed up but I didn't receive an update about one this month. Could you please forward it to me? Thanks!

  • @KreativeKutie Oh no!!!! There muct be a glitch with the website. I got you though girl:) Check your inbox for the address.

  • How do you know when your heading is shedding excessively?

  • @TiffonaFontee Well there is not a "set" way to tell, however, I started to notice more breakage than excessive shedding. I started to get more "little" pieces of hair in my comb while detangling. The little pieces are ALWAYS breakage. Shedding is normal so no worries with that! Those are usaully the long to medium hairs. However, if what you think is "alot" of shedding, it may actually be breakage. Im not an expert so I hope this helps sis:)

  • @AdamsRib84 It does thanks!

  • Hey girl! glad you're back! Your hair looks too cute like that! I'm doing the protective styling thing too because I have been having the same probs as you...shedding and breakage. Only been doing it 2 wks but it seems like it's helping. Girl where do you find out about the product swaps here in the A? I've been trying to find one with no luck!

  • @4EvaAGAPeach Aww thanks sis! Ok, the product swaps.....I found out about meetup.com here on YT and from there, I found ATL naturals and every few months, we have meetups. This is the second product swap we've had so I am sooooooo excited! I have so much stuff girl it's sad Lol! Would you like to attend this Sat? If you cant, you can still join the group! Just go on meetup.com and look for Atlanta Naturals.

  • @AdamsRib84 I so wish I could go this Sat! My niece will be with me this wknd so I can't. I just signed up on the site so I hope to be able to attend the next one. Girl this is so what I have been looking for. I never heard of meetup.com before. Where have I been?! lol good looking out!

  • What's the name of the store in Atlanta you referenced? I'll be in Atlanta this weekend for the Maxwell concert so I'd love to check this store out.

  • @concedenothing There are two stores that I go to that sell many of these natural products. The store where I buy my essential oils and butters is called Nature's Gift. This store is located in Stonecrest Mall (Top floor). The other store I mentioned is called Sage Naturalseuticals. She sells many of the Afroveda products and other lines as well. You can check out her website for more info. I posted it in the video a fe minutes ago:) Hope this helps! Have a good time at the concert!

  • @AdamsRib84 Oh btw, the store (Sage Naturalseuticals) is located downtown in the Castleberry Hill shopping area.

  • @AdamsRib84 THanks! I'll check both out.
