The minimum pay for every OTR driver should be no less than 85k due to the inconvienience of being away..due to all the sacrifices...missed holidays....sorry dock staff..getn screwed by dispatch..if drivers would stick together we could get it. Instead drivers don't stick together.. end result..26 cents a mile for you

Some of them are worth their weight in gold, and some could care less and are in it for the money. The trainers in that video were all of the first sort. I'd experienced the latter in my own training and got myself re-assigned. Any company has its "politics". If you're going to be an employee, you just have to do your job to the best of your ability; not sit around the lounge complaining about "the Company". If you were "the Company", you wouldn't do much to support the complainers either.

as far as Swift is concerned, it sounds like their mentors are grossly overpaid where that money should be going to the drivers. F'n ridiculous considering what they start you out at and their is no guarantee of stable miles.

what the motor vehicle divisions fail to teach regular motorists is how to drive with truckers. On the other side of the coin, their are just truckers that are bad period and I almost learned the hard way. Best advice to give newbies is to keep your eyes peeled for slow moving vehicles on the highway. I was driving a rig in broad daylight and dry conditions on the interstate and didn't see the vehicles hazard lights because of what color is was. Quick thinking saved me from a collision.
