  • Love it - miine will probably take eighteen months longer ...

  • I'm not quite sure what is wrong with this...

  • You just inspired me to buy a slab of african mahogany.

  • If I were a carepenter.....

Me can't get anything done in wood, except fire.

  • mediocre.......

  • really good video and very usefull too . . thanks

  • That's cool!!

  • How long did this take?

  • That's awesome! Makes me wanna make a signature Guitar with my own design on it!

  • That's REAL guitar shredding! Nice vid. Thanks.

  • I hate how easy you make it look XD

seriously though thats a very beautiful guitar, wish I had the tools to make my own, save me looking for a second hand one ><

  • that was badass

  • I had a Thrill Ride , Thank You :) QC

  • Any idiot who criticizes this craftsman or this video- for any reason- is part of the youtube cancer. This was just great. Ignore the bleating, naysaying morons. One of the better YT vids Ive seen in quite some time.

  • @WorldsBestGuitarists It was definitely not worth the beginner, or advanced, luthiers time.

not a bad guitar, just not good. its more or less just like a taylor or martin, both okay guitars, but not great. watch Ervin Somogyi's videos if you want to build a guitar. this and any like it, are a waste of time.

  • @killxthexsmile

Guys like you are all the same. You go on a video like this, say "Meh, not that great. Nothing compared to (insert premier practitioner here)!" as if dropping names gives you credibility. This isn't intended to be a tutorial. It's intended to show the process in a creative and artistic fashion. You clearly 'don't get it'. Oh well. Perhaps I should watch some of your videos to learn right? Oh, that's right... As usual, there are none.

  • Great Video!

  • outstanding........

  • very nice, but you left out a crucial part of the process. thats the part where the feds kick your door in and confiscate your fret boards SAY NO TO TYRANNY! NObama 2012!

  • @damnyancey

    what?

  • @CaptainErn huh?

  • @damnyancey who?

  • Nice work, very impressive

  • absolutely incredible. how do you shape the neck and body so perfectly? also, how long does it take to make a guitar?

  • cool.

  • great video! :D

    did you make a trussrod?

  • Would of like to here it.

  • Great Video...A job well done !!

  • How much did this cost you and how long did it take to make it?

  • awesome~

    want one

  • bonanza.com/booths/christmas20082009

    i make guitar templates

  • How do I get you to make me one sir?

  • How did you learn to do this? How do you space out the frets perfectly?

    I have so many questions?

  • what are those wood lines on the inside for, satbility and strenght? and how did you make the sides in shape?

  • holy shit!!

  • great video. I only wish I had the woodworking skills to do the same. Just a note but I find it funny that there was piano music on the video rather than guitar. lol

  • where to find this? 1:51 to 1:57 ?

  • where to find this 1:51 to 1:57

  • That is great, I just wish I had the knowledge and space to do all of that

  • what is the thing called at 4:43 ?

  • Thats amazing! What did you use to shape the neck with?

  • you definetly know ur shit dude, keep it up =)

  • you can tell hes good a jacking off

  • My only complaint is that we did not get to hear the guitar being played at the end....

    Besides that.... Awesome video !!!

  • @woofwoofwoofie I have some other videos showing how it sounds, check them out if you want.

  • Wow. Your giutar is soooooooooooooooo nice.

  • how in the world can someone dislike it?

i can only laugh at them

  • I would love to make me one,but I know I could buy one better.

  • Well done. Would love to hear how it sounds.

  • BEST 6 mins of my life

  • @megapotbellypig

    I almost cried

  • impressive!

  • it'a adhesives?

  • ......from one musician to another....."Very Cool"!

  • i would love to build my own guitar but i just don't have the tools needed to do so!!! grrr!!!!

  • Wow Loved it ! you are talented . I am possibly getting into the trade soon .Your video was very helpful . But please next time when you spray the guitar where long sleeves or do it outside. Send me a list of tools ,also the neck block positioning and set I missed. Plus would love to have heard the instrument. And put your name on the headstock. Peace -John

  • Keep it up.

  • BRAVO!!!

  • beautiful job!!!

  • great job !

have you taken a course on the subject or are you self-taught ?

  • Nice work!

  • @taylor301187 Indeed Brother.

    Indeed.

  • Love this video. Very interesting and entertaining. Nice job, except for one video issue. At the end, not a sound from your beautiful instrument, but chords from a piano. WHY? This makes NO sense!

  • @aninstrumentalvision

i agree. having this video end with anything other than a few chords is a crime in its self

  • IMPRESIVE YOU SHOULD MAKE WILD GUITARS AND SELL THEM AND MAKE A NAME FOR YOURSELF

  • Interesting awesome!

I saw the 6:28 minutes! xD

  • Very impressive for such a young fellow. Well done.

  • this was amazing!.. i've always wanted to build my own.. what directions were you following? how did you do figure out dimensions and bracing patters etc.. really really nice work! saw the video of you playing too.. also how did you get the bent piece? that is my biggest question.. as in the sides of the body

  • muito interessante

    gostei mesmo

  • Hey this looks so fun, I could seriously love doing this! Congrats on building that guitar!

  • you are great

  • ur grandpa would be so proud i bet

  • I'm really impressed that you were always in the frame! Great-looking guitar! Great video!

  • I'm really impressed that you were always in the frame!

  • 5:20 are you laquering your drill press? :)

  • thank you. I would like to know how it sounds.

  • This is the sloppiest operation with the most professional results, haha you are my hero.

like at 4:47 you're just like "meh, I think theres supposed to be holes right here, I'll drill a few."

  • @flyjackflay hahahah!. i was thinking the same thing! .. lol.. drill.. here.. umm.. here here here here here!

  • GOOD JOB MAN,doesn't matter whose tools you used!

  • Well done man you created a fine guitar....your givin taylor and martin a run for their money

  • Do you make electric guitars too?

  • ....wow...now I know a few tricks in my current acoustic guitar project... thanks for posting this video...you guitar turned out really great... awesome guitar!

  • I love watching instruments being made, good job dude!

  • I made a classical guitar with the help of a experienced luthier, took me a year to finish it. There is nothing like playing a guitar made by yourself.

    Nice video!!!

  • time to buy some better tools, a band saw, jointer, planer

  • really well done job. looks like a quality guitar that will serve you well for many years to come. :)

  • Great video, but you skipped the side bending.

  • didn't really take you seriously at first.. :)

that's pretty cool, I wonder if there's a video of it being played..

  • did you make the sides?

  • nice, but u could have put in some awesome inlays. go to ebay and search vinyl inlay stickers. all kinds of inlays. there. bought a couple and they look great!

  • Im actually building a classical guitar and there was a jig you used which I think was genius to hold the sides together. and the body in place if my jig I made doesn't work as well I am definitely using your idea. I made a lot of the neck for the classical but im not 100% satisfied with it. I think im going to start over on the neck I made the parallel holes too big and couple other things I am very glad I have the experience now to make a much better neck. I def. think the neck is hardest

  • dude ur a badass craftsman. i wish i could do that

  • very nice how long did this take?

  • i whant to buy a classic guitar

cuz i wanna know how to play on the guitar

i thing its cool that you can made your salfe "homemade" guitar

  • That was very cool...super job...you are a true craftsman...just one question though...Alla turca was a nice background choice...but why not a guitar version since the video was about making a guitar?

  • kawał dobrej roboty... kiedys bede musiał sprobowac...

    great job :D

  • Great job, great video. Really enjoyed it!

  • excellent video...thank you for posting this

  • REALLY great video dude.

  • awesome work! that looks like a beautiful guitar.

  • Thats Really Cool

  • Nice work!

Can u play guitar ur self. And can u buid electric guitar?!

  • would of been nice to see the sides built. they magically appeared.

  • your a ing nerd lol this is weird cool but wierd

  • cool

  • You sir, are a maestro.

  • If only it were really that fast...

  • AWESOME !!! Were you using that 5 hour energy boost or what ??!!! Nice ....

  • Thanks for the vid. That was pretty cool.

  • you are without a doubt very skilled, but i found u made it too much like carpentry than art, i allways found when doing luthierian work u need to have a real element of art in either the design or the making.

  • Your comments are very condescending, I guess only you are privy to the correct process of making a guitar. You suggest a lack of "artistry" in the "design or the making". As for the design, you've no clue what his design process was. Yer talking outta yer ass! As for "the making", he made what appears to be a fine guitar, which IS a work of art by nature, RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE! If his tools or techniques are not the same as the ones that you prefer, fine, let's see YOUR guitar build vid!!

  • great job havent you got a vid of how it sounds

  • respect man now ive seen this i want to learn how i can bould my own guitar !!!

  • I just wanted to thank you for this video... it was very enjoyable to watch... I've over to see how it sounds now! Nice craftsmanship!

    Bill

  • good job

  • What about the bridge and nut installs? Most important.....great job...

  • job well done

  • was all the equipment dear and were the woods dear too i want to build one im much younger than you and i have not had any experience with wood NON AT ALL =)

  • Just awesome. Thank you for sharing this great video.

  • Wow, I've never seen a guitar made before. I was actually searching for some kind of video that could teach more about guitars but I think your video was pretty amazing. It obvious shows that you spent a good amount of time working on that guitar, I think you did a wonderful work!

p.s nice choice of music :D

  • How you did to bend the wood on the side?

  • @victorbtc He had a bending iron, if you watch later in the video where he bends the binding. He probably forgot to film that bit.

  • holy shit

  • i wish i could put my strings on that fast, they are a PAIN

  • aww I wanted 2 hear ya play. lol

  • Wow. Awsome, Respect.

  • wow,justgreat

  • wow! i salute ya!!

  • Is there such a thing as a guitar making holiday? I'd seriously consider it!!

  • Looks nice! Very similar to how I build instruments, with a few differences. I've been building for about 16 years now. It's an addiction!

  • RESPECT! How long do you take for that guitar?

  • looks like someone was in a rush! lol

  • Nice video !!

  • freak'n nice ass guitar. great job on making one ur self

  • Very cool video. Everything is cooler when sped up.

  • if only it were that easy... :)

  • man that was beautuiful

  • woooooooow i wish i could build my own 1

  • slow down

  • Wow, the Guitar looked great.

Would like to build a guitar of my own somedays.

Was thinking of making a guitar of a six-stringed bass.

  • This is a VERY nice build. am a joiner myself and i am thinking about trying to build a guitar myself. It would be cool if you could tell me something about your experience, what materials you used and maybe your profession???

  • Well I can't say his proffesion, but I know you'll need some good wood. I can't say I have much experience in wood either but this is the most common stuff for guitars. Top wood- Spruce or Ceder Sides/Back- Rosewood, Mahogany or maple. Neck- Maple? Fretboard- Rosewood (don't use ebony because it's really really dense and easy to crack).

  • iasdjniadbfuag u are a genius, who thinks he is a genius?

  • i know you had to drop quite a bit of dough into specialized luthiery tools. the circle attachment for the dremel and the router mount for the dremel together cost you over 100 dollars american. the bits for those run between 15 and 25 dollars american a piece. not to mention youre using a real bending iron and not a pipe/blowtorch...those retail for about 180 dollars american. so just for materials not even going into the guitar you spent over 300 american.

  • This is not just about price, you should not be building something like this to save money.

  • that's exactly my point...there was some discussion earlier on here about the simplicity of the tools. my point is, youre gonna have to drop some cash and give it a go a few times to get a good product. i was merely quoting prices (which are quite accurrate) to give other folks the message that "hey, this isnt cheap or easy" ....still ...i bet it's really REALLY satisfying. ive already started to amass tools and jigs myself to get a build going.

  • also I think you should have made a cut away

  • I liked the bridge

  • to be honest my Grandpa who might have liked to work with me on this passed away many years ago. You are right, many of the tools I used are not mine, however a good many are and if you want a list of all the specific tools which are mine and those that aren't I could get it to you but I think it silly and unnecessary.

  • actually, I made a list of the tools used which are not mine: Table saw, Belt Sander Drill Adjustable wrench Hammer Air compressor Dremel Camera&tripod. The shop is an old trailer-house many years past its prime of life, and you're right I don't own it. And this guitar although my first guitar was not my first stringed instrument, my first instruments were much more crude and less complex, but that was them, and this is what it is.
  • @oilwise I thought that comment was unnecessary. He DID built the guitar. and thats a fact. you're just being jealous.

  • @oilwise I know this is a year old, but really who gives a shit. It was still done and he did alot of work on it. Thats like rebuilding an old car with your dad and someone telling you, you didn't do shit.

  • @oilwise ...what is your problem...we can clearly see him performing most if not all the work in the vid...HATER..!

  • @oilwise You are an idiot. In the video, it clearly shows that he did most of the work. And besides, he never said that he did it all by himself. But what does it matter if he had received help? You build a guitar on your own, and post it up. Don't like this video, don't watch it. Geez...

  • @oilwise Can i see your video of the guitar you built.

  • u are genius

  • bravo! bravo!

  • I completely and thoroughly enjoyed that!

  • wow!!!! you just make all with your free hand... amazing... hehehehe

  • i wish i had all those tools (or tools that would look like that) but even if i had the tools i won`t be able to make a guitar

    nice job :D

  • Is all this your own or did you rent the tools?

  • beauty!!!

  • Absolutely superb video. Well done.

  • That was really good! The guitar looks beautiful! My best compliments!

  • Wow, that was awesome

I watched the entire thing without looking away once.

  • you shouldnt have piano music to a guitar video

    nice guitar tho

  • You are a big! Could you give me some information about materials and mesure? Thanks

  • can u plz make for me?

  • GJ M8!

  • well done :D

  • can i come to your house and you teach me how to do this

like you tell me what to do ^_^

kinda like middle school tech ed

  • ...now you need a decal with your name

  • of course he is a luthier, anyone who can make a guitar is a luthier. also boo bolt on necks, im more into making lutes

  • are you a luthier?

how much did the total material cost
