I can't recommend "Ghost-Opus Eponymous" enough to fans of Blue Oyster Cult's "darker" moments.. think BOC mixed with Mercyful fate, just as catchy, and a bit on the "devilish" side. Nice to see some great influence on a new band. Just search up "Ghost ritual sweden" on here if you are interested.

This song was for the part when Taarna is called upon to fulfill the pact and destroy the loc nar. however, the movies director felt the song didnt truly capture what was happening. the only song on this album that actually was put in the movie, ironically, wasnt made for the movie (veteran of the psychic wars)

Guitar hero is a game. Having once-long ago-been in bands, I can honestly say that NO game came can ever replace the feeling of really being up there, playing your heart out. Another mystery solved.For decades now I never knew what those blue things were in thier hands on the album cover. Blue frozen water was my best guess at the time.Thanks to Youtube comments,it's got to be Blue Oyster Cult beings holding, duh, I should have known, ,blue oysters. I think.
BOC was so ahead of their time. Just look at the album cover... alchemical symbols everywhere, those colourful robes, the masks, it's a piece of art in itself. The whole album is an amazing piece of artwork.
I don't think video games are killing anything. When you talk about working on cars, kids can still do that, I play racing games, and work on my car. Just because there are video games out there doesn't mean kids won't have an interest in cars, or playing guitar.
The best guitar player I know loves GH, in fact most of the people who play in the school's PepBand (rock cover band) play GH and RB. The stuff is still out there, nothing is dying because of video games.

You know something, I HATE video games. Back when I was young, we'd sit in our rooms, or the basement, and try to learn to play these songs on REAL guitars, and.....if we were into musclecars, we'd build REAL cars in parking lots, or a friend's garage......none of it was done sitting on a couch with a "controller" in our hands. @JahJoJah I'm 16 and rockin the Psychic Wars. But its true no one knows many of BOC's songs. Cities on Flame is a rare one to hear someone talk about, too.Their best songs are the least well known, I think though. Sole Survivor and Vengeance are probably my favorites by them.

There is just so much amazing material from this band that many have never heard! 'The Red and the Black', or how about 'ETI (Extra-Terrestrial intelligence)', 'Cities On Flame', 'Black Blade' or just the entire Agents Of Fortune album not just '...the Reaper'.
Joan Crawford is also on this album, fantastic song. If you haven't heard Imaginos, you haven't heard what many believe to be the best 'metal' album of the 80's. You need to pickup Club Ninja just to hear 'Perfect Water' and 'Dancin' In The Ruins', both are great. 'Harvest Moon' is also worth a listen.
my favorite part is "i think im falling down in a deep, dark....hooooole".. i waited for that at a BOC show and some douche blabbed at that very moment. i had to kill him.

Another mystery solved.For decades now I never knew what those blue things were in thier hands on the album cover. Blue frozen water was my best guess at the time.Thanks to Youtube comments,it's got to be Blue Oyster Cult beings holding, duh, I should have known, ,blue oysters. I think.

BOC was so ahead of their time. Just look at the album cover... alchemical symbols everywhere, those colourful robes, the masks, it's a piece of art in itself. The whole album is an amazing piece of artwork.

I don't think video games are killing anything. When you talk about working on cars, kids can still do that, I play racing games, and work on my car. Just because there are video games out there doesn't mean kids won't have an interest in cars, or playing guitar.
The best guitar player I know loves GH, in fact most of the people who play in the school's PepBand (rock cover band) play GH and RB. The stuff is still out there, nothing is dying because of video games.

I agree. I grew up in this generation, but we were poor, and my choice was a guitar or video games. Man I gotta tell you, game systems have changed a shitload over the last ten years. But you still play a guitar the same way..... Hmmm....And to top it off, a pack of new strings is five bux... what's the cheapest new video game? Last, but not least, are there any video game heros creating REAL art?

You know something, I HATE video games. Back when I was young, we'd sit in our rooms, or the basement, and try to learn to play these songs on REAL guitars, and.....if we were into musclecars, we'd build REAL cars in parking lots, or a friend's garage......none of it was done sitting on a couch with a "controller" in our hands. We busted and bloodied our knuckles, and damn, it was GREAT.

I suppose they can be judged, because that is what humans do. I am just saying the generation you are talking about doesn't consist of only the people who worship RB, or GH. Sure there are people who do that, but I am not sure if I would say we are "too lazy to acknowledge the full breadth of an artists talent." well the generation that i speak of is my own. how else would i be able to comment on it. and ours is one of a thousand songs of one thousand artists on an ipod. and these songs have only been purchased because they are supposedly the 'best' from an artists collection, as recommended by the music industry( pop culture rather). they claim to love music, they serve only efficiency. neither you nor any of your friends are audiophiles. wildehfag

I'm in high school and I love classic rock, I don't listen to anything but; I'll be honest, I like Rock Band, because it's fun and I open up to more music. I just disagree with the thought that only old people can like good, old music. Youth can be embrace it too. I just don't appreciate it when people say that kids only like old songs on GH, or RB. I LOVE classic rock/metal, and I learned to play the bass guitar, years back....(Yes, kiddies, an ACTUAL guitar) Now, they sit in front of the damn games, and that's it. What's next? I had a kid tell (while I was working on my ACTUAL classic car) "you can just build those in blah-blah blah game, ya know...." Oh, sounds lovely......I'll just park the game at the next car show.....

@JahJoJah For the most part you are correct. Most teenagers dont listen to the good stuff from BOC like this song, or fire of unkown origin. (Hell, this whole album kick ass.) But not all teenagers only listen to Cities on Flame or Don't Fear the Reaper. Im 14 and i bearly ever listen to those songs. Not sayin that they're bad by any means, but they arent as good as this album. Im not tryin to diss. Just sayin....not ALL kids will kill the classics.

@JahJoJah I'm 16 and rockin the Psychic Wars. But its true no one knows many of BOC's songs. Cities on Flame is a rare one to hear someone talk about, too.Their best songs are the least well known, I think though. Sole Survivor and Vengeance are probably my favorites by them.

There is just so much amazing material from this band that many have never heard! 'The Red and the Black', or how about 'ETI (Extra-Terrestrial intelligence)', 'Cities On Flame', 'Black Blade' or just the entire Agents Of Fortune album not just '...the Reaper'.

Joan Crawford is also on this album, fantastic song. If you haven't heard Imaginos, you haven't heard what many believe to be the best 'metal' album of the 80's. You need to pickup Club Ninja just to hear 'Perfect Water' and 'Dancin' In The Ruins', both are great. 'Harvest Moon' is also worth a listen.
