Being religious has nothing to do with it. The shame is just how stupid and easily led many Americans are to the point they will vote against their own best interests based on a former comedian ( BECK) and a present idiot ( Hannity). They want to turn over a Banana Republic to their corporate handlers.
you can thank the religious right for convincing the avg American voter that being rich = being righteous (at least implicitly) and the vast armies of conservative think-tankers duping the avg voter into thinking they, too, can be wealthy beyond imagination one day, if they just follow some mythical set of rules.
