  • its on the 11 fret not on the 12

  • im not a guitar expert but it looks more like an epiphone more then a gibson

  • @NeilDynomite its a gibson

  • dude great lesson but maybe tabs on future stuff? i'll continue to watch regardless but it would really help. thanks

  • make sure you tune the guitar down a half step

  • irish ? :D

  • im sorry man but thts wrong its everything u played with the intro but 1 fret lower listen to it with the song

  • @Vdominoman Its played on the 12th fret, but the guitar is tuned down a semitone. :)

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar umm.. so if my guitar is in standard tuning, i should play it 1 fret lower or in 12th fret? :D

  • @juhaaasd well, its up to you. Either way will be correct.

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar the actual song is recorded with the entire guitar tuned a half step down so if your going to try to play with the song you need to tune down but if your just hangin with friends or just want to show off then dont take the time to tune it works. just as an fyi i dont mean to make myself sound rude so dont take this comment the wrong way. thanks for the vid man it really helped

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar teach us some fusion stuff

  • @XxicruffesionalxX ill make sure its my next video!

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar o kl. but dont jus teach us a couple licks.. like teach us the concept around it (examples, using 4ths or 9ths in improvise) and probably show us 2 examples to start us off. and some chromaticism stuff would be kl tho..(jazz/fusion chromatic stuff that go over normal chords) .... yea.. another thing useful would be telling us the chords that can go over this stuff. cuz its quite useless without that..

  • @Vdominoman 1st thing I noticed. You're not tuned down.

  • One of the best tutorials I have ever seen on here. Excellent & Thank you for taking the time to do this.

  • I can get the exact sound through a first act amp with my lez paul and distortion pedal!

  • Thank you so much man. You made everything clear and very easy to understand. I can play this song now! lol.

  • nice

  • what guitar is that ?

  • @lhequatro looks like either a Epiphone Les Paul Custom or Gibson Les Paul Custom

  • @ElementzOfAwesome its a Epiphone custom i have the same one

  • @boxofsharpobjects663 This is a gibson dude, although the epiphone custom is great.

  • Slash does not tune down for this song. If you have a humbuckers, a nice overdrive and the crybaby on and set to a spot where it sounds like the lead from this song you'll get it. He also uses the rythme pickup. This is a good lesson, I watched Slash in videos to learn this and Darren here has it exact. Good lesson video!

  • Great...........my fingers are tied in a knot and I cant set the guitar down.

  • @FluidDesignsHD you need humbuckers. Other than that, preferances would be a mahoganny body- also, don't forget to tune 1/2 a step down.

If you want to get it spot on, a wah pedal is also necessary.

  • Love the lesson! I changed the A on the 15th for the 10th on the D and it seemed a lot easier. But awesome tho :-)

  • thanks!!! great!!

  • oh man THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sub from me ;)

  • It's a Jim Deacon! Just got one today!

  • @leonnumber9ne what the hell are you talking about paramore, green day,my chemical romance etc. Is not rock! Don't even insult rock you want to hear rock listen to led zeppelin, bon jovi, the stooges, joy division. That's real rock, not that sissy shit your talking about.

  • Thanks really helped me out,Merry Christmas

  • how do you stop that weird noise after you play the 14 on the e and the 14 on the G i keep getting this weird sound.

  • Hey what effects do you use and also what amp please message me thanks man. Likd & sub.

  • Hey what effects and on what amp do you use bro please message me thatnks so much.

  • Thanks.

  • I've learned the intro in just 15 minutes. THANK YOU!

  • fuck!! i dont get it at the arrpegio u dont explain a single thing!!!

    this lesson sucks!!

  • @loginstrength I have to agree he really does not explain a damn thing.

  • Is that a custom shop Gibson with gold hardware? Or is that a Black Beauty with just 2 pick-ups? I thought that the Black Beauty only had 3 pickups in it. But when I went to my local Pro Music Shop in Des Moines, they labeled one as a Black Beauty with 2 pickups.

Anybody know? I'm very curious. I've looked into getting one.

  • @FromTheAshes7 i think its black beauty cos of the thickness of the white edge

  • @FromTheAshes7 Sorry, Black Beauties have THREE gold pickups. Anything other than that isn't a true BB, though dealers or people may call them what they will.

  • this is a epiphone guitare or gibson ?

  • @amine4507 - Izza Gibson! Epi's and Gibson's have different headstocks. I caught a glipse of this one and it's not an Epi. For what's it's worth, these Customs, as well as the Black Beauties, are wider at the nut so the neck is wider all the way down. Epi's are narrower and for me anyway, easier to play. You could get the Epi version and swap out the pickups for real Gibson's and you'd do a lot better tone-wise at a much smaller price. BUT, the value won't increase over the years.

  • Do you mix the overdrive with a distortion and a analog delay?

  • Comment removed

  • what is the amp set up ?

  • Wish I had electric guitar...

  • your guitar is gibson less paul custom eb gh????

  • i have that guitar!!!!!!

  • anyone else notice the wierd fuzzy thing going on every time he moves his hands?

  • wow ur damn good...

  • What guitar is this ?:)

  • @whatevaUsay2 I have, and it doesn't count as music. It's just sort of an atrocity that should have been killed as soon as it was born.

  • try to learn the song sweet child o mine, but what effects do you use to play it.

do you think the boss ME-70 or ME-50 are a good option is not very good English:)

  • YAY TY bro

  • fucking nice guitar dude

  • great lesson

  • @leonumber9ne its all real music you rainbow faget its called expanding your variety of music i listen to it wall so no rock shouldnt die YOU SHOULD!!!!

  • @leonumber9ne fuck off

  • @leonumber9ne If you ever appreciated music as an art form, you would never say this. Here's to the 1% who believe that music is amazing, no matter what form it takes.

  • It's a les Paul custom note the two humbuckers les Paul black beauty has 3 humbuckers

  • what are the amp settings for this song?? O_o

  • @sazomet its a custom

  • Do you have the tab?? tienes la tablatura passme please

  • What kind of Les Paul is that? That's the one I want.

  • @GuitarIsGodly I think it's called a Black Beauty

  • slash tunes his guitar a half step down so if u wanna play it sorrectley in standerd tuning play it the exact way except start on the 11th fret ;) other than tht good job bro

  • how can i get a more 80s rock sound?

  • @Broman186 Use JCM800s at hi-gain with overdrives... Slash used those on Appetite I think

  • @Broman186 experiment ,lovey

  • @Broman186: Go on eBay & buy a old 1980's Marshall JCM 800 amp

  • @Broman186 dont use cheap gear. spend alot of time tweaking your sound and experiment alot with pedals and ur signal chain. reverb chorus are two huge 80's metal effects and obviously a jcm 800 with vintage 30's never hurts either

  • @Broman186 grow your hair that usually works

  • @BMXBOBO also on top of what you said get a top hat and buy a 5000 dollar Gibson

  • where is the arpeggio section played in the song

  • tabs with would be better

    thanks for the great tutorial

  • Chord Structive!! lol

  • It's played 11th fret of you are in standard. 12th if in half step down

  • HEY DOVE thx for backing me up dude lol

  • Gracia culia!

  • he's right, it starts at the 11th fret. XD

  • @doveinthesand yay i have friends

  • the intro isnt right

its played on the 11th fret not the 12th

its ok i made the same mistake

  • @l361tprodigy It's played on the 12th if you tune your guitar to Eb, which he probably did.

  • Hey can you please send me the tab? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Nice tut but to much echo O.o

  • this is very helpful thank you for the video its cool to be learning this sick ass song

  • you're the only one on youtube who explains the arpeggio section slowly, thanks dude

  • that was amazing thank youvso much it helped ALOT!!!!!

  • Awesome. This was the best tutorial I have seen so far.I under stood it for once.

  • Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial! I couldn't figure it out for the life of me.

  • love the accent! <3

  • me llegas al pincho mierda

  • I can't thankyou enuff for this amazing video. I have the intro down perfect it was the arpeggio part that I needed. It sounds so cool. Thanks a million. Karma is looking down upon you. Off to practice. Love your accent by the way!

@alifiz1996 you don't need tabs for this! Just watch and listen. Even if you have to do it many times. Take a section and memorize what you hear and then apply to the fretboard. Works for me! Just a suggestion!

  • no tabs?

  • what tuning is it in?

  • I don't understand the last 3 minutes because he just says go back but doesn't say to which fret or string.

  • This song (or at least the intro) is in Eb Minor Pentatonic, not E. Other than that, great job :)

  • @GoogieStereo Its actually in D flat Mixolydian. I didnt tune down a half step because it would confuse people. :)

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar but in doing so you confused those who began with a general idea behind the theory of the tune ha.

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar no its in D major. you can see the E dorian shape around the main riff.

  • @DarrenDonohoeguitar hey man awsome ima new guitar player and i want to know do i have to have echo and what would it wound like if i didnt tune down half step thanks u subed and favorited :)

  • @GoogieStereo pwned!

  • @GoogieStereo

its only in eb for the solo and breakdown :)

  • @GoogieStereo the chorus appregio part is wrong. Just listen to the record and you hear the first chord he is playing is half a step too sharp.I know that the song is tuned down 1/2 step so maybe you forgot you were in standard tuning for that bit?

  • Customs are pretty but lack of maple top misses the classic sound of a Les Paul Standard

  • @no they do have a maple top check the site

  • isn't this song supposed to be played in e flat?

  • take off reverb

  • when the solo is commign???

  • That sound is horrible

  • yoo mayne good explaining, thnx!

  • i want your guitar...

  • You Republic or Northern? I'm half Irish and I'm from Maghio I think :)

  • what is your guitar? thanks for reply btw great tutorial

  • you play really neatly .... but man .. Your guitars are awesome ! you must be having some equipment !

  • Hey dude your pretty much entirely correct aside from the Intro its played the same on the 11Th fret instead of 12Th thats how the recording is on the album Appetite for Destruction (non-live version). Other than that pretty good job. trust me its the 11Th fret not the 12Th I learned it correctly and also played along to the song. Just to help you out thas all

  • @Guitaramaniack no you boob.. its E dropped a half step down in tuning. slash does it on the 12th. also they use natural chords not power chords. half step down

  • Nice one Darren , by breaking down in to separate loop sections help me a great deal, Top Banana
