All I can say I WOW! What a talented performer! Such wisdom and talent all rolled into one. Greg Lake is a natural musician. Genius performer and singer. I can't listen to this enough! Thanks so much for the post.
The work, dedication, effort, balls, strain, whatever you wish to call it - to achieve this level of musical ability will never be attained by the "Children of The X-Factor" they seem to want it NOW, FULL-TIME, no effort required or spent - someone forgot to tell them they need to be TALENTED and then work like fuck to hone their talent, then, maybe, they will become STARS!
@billyconnearly It's not that us musicians from this time, know not the righteous path to follow in order to reach certain level... It's just that we don't have any sort of hope now... Besides, do you think Greg Lake had the inmense ammount of music tools, bands to hear and critical judgements to carry on as we do now? Dont' think so, guess you're missing the big picture.
Is he using his pinky to finger pick as well here when he is hybrid picking? I normally only use the pick then my middle and ring fingers when hybrid picking and am interested to see if the pinky could be competently used.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer, all three amazingly accomplished at such a young age. Their music betters with age like a fine wine to a sophisticated palate.
The is called "the Sage" and is very easy to play with exception to the middle piece which isnt terribly difficult, but is well crafted. I love this song. It describes my internal feelings more often than not.
