you never want to increase your tolerance - if something happens, and you REALLY need pain meds, what happens when you have too much of a tolerance? Laying on the operating table in severe pain b/c the meds don't work right can really suck. it's kind of like a bank account - the more opiates you have to take, the more your "bank account" decreases... causing you to have to take more and more. Save your tolerance for when/if you need it (i.e. you're in the hospital).
