The Ravnes have always been about a grind it out style of play, they don't neccessarily require a great QB to lead the team, as long as they have a solid runnig game. Flacco did a great job in his 1st season for the Ravens. It was hard to tell who truly deserved it cuz one had a great week, then the other came back n had a great week so it was hard to tell who truly deserved it to me. even though his team lost, Matt Ryan is better because he led his team to the playoffs with a bad defense and receivers who people thought were draft busts when vick was throwing to them. flacco did not lead the ravens to the playoffs, the defense did. the revens also had good receivers including heap, mason, and clayton and they were also the 4th best rushing team

The Falcon's recievers were our achilles heel until this season(and now they're all world all of a sudden).
Flacco is going to be great for the Ravens,but all I have to say is:give Matt Ryan a top 5--hell,top 12 defense--and you'll see how far this cat can take you.

Amen. What people don't understand is that Flacco had the #2 or #3 defense in the NFL along with a pretty solid run game. And he passes about 12-14 times a game. The Falcons have the 23rd ranked defense in the NFL as of last season- after we draft some stud at OLB like Aaron Curry and get a solid #1 CB and a good safety, Ryan will get the ball more and not have the entire game on his shoulders which = better stats!!

So I guess the fact that Joe Flacco has the number 2 ranked defence on his team, and Atlanta's defence is 25th means nothing to you. and Ryan's passer rating was 73 and flacco's was 51.

receivers dont make the qb, qb makes the recievers. look at tom brady before moss and welker. he put up great numbers without anybody significant. Flacco has the better arm strength, i recognize that. but his accuracy isnt lk ryan's. besides, flacco practices with a great D, so if anything, tht wuld make him better. sry for a late response on this one =p

I am happy that Ryan won. I am even more happy that C Johnson didn't! What little respect I had for that bitch was lost when he complained to the media about not getting more votes for the ROY award. He is such a cocky prick. I hope he gets destroyed in his first playoff game. Johnson and White make for the dumbest running back duo in the game. I would have voted for Ryan, Slaton, Forte, D Jackson, Flacco, and K Jones before Johnson. Oh, I'm not a Falcon fan either, but like what Ryan has done!

Not really. I mean Ryan obviously deserved Rookie of the Year, but if anyone on the Falcons deserves MVP it is Michael Turner- all his runs and threat as a runner set up Ryan's ability to make good plays from the pocket- because opposing defenses are expecting the run (remember all those play action bootleg plays we ran??)
