@darksniper1982 power to weight ratio is a very important factor to consider when making a car go fast (both corners and straight line). that's basic physics. but even if you have the best ratios it doesn't mean you'll be faster. you have to take in consideration resistance, traction, gearing, etc. but definetily not displacement. i know f1's are made for cornering but that doesn't mean they can't go into straight line. my point was that they can outrun many cars that have bigger displacement

And it is a full drag car... The 6 second dodge viper is still a full body car, and isn't fully modified yet by Heffner's Performance, they have said its a work in progress yet it has beat the fastest Honda (6.711 @ 207.46), with a 6.641 @ 211.26) I can show you 100's of 6 second V8's. show me one 4 cyl 6 second 1/4.

@bergaflickal not much of a difference. I got my 1998 Supra TT right off the lot at $29,000 with 19 miles on it. It ended up being close to $31,000 with tax and tag's and such though. Supra's are one of those rare car's that have kept their original MSRP value over the year's. I got my 97 for $24,500 in 2006 and put another $65,000 into it and got it to run 8's. Yes it cost's them a lot of money to run 8's, but once you get them to that point they are INSANE! =)

Yes a Turbo WILL help but a Turbo takes exhaust to spin the turbine in the Turbo. off the line a Camaro SHOULD have a better start because you can't build boost off the line (assuming you don't have a 2 step which most people don't for street use). It ends up being Boost vs More Displacement. The fact is that even with less displacement the Supra has more hp per cylinder

Never looked back.

@darksniper1982 power to weight ratio is a very important factor to consider when making a car go fast (both corners and straight line). that's basic physics. but even if you have the best ratios it doesn't mean you'll be faster. you have to take in consideration resistance, traction, gearing, etc. but definetily not displacement. i know f1's are made for cornering but that doesn't mean they can't go into straight line. my point was that they can outrun many cars that have bigger displacement

And it is a full drag car... The 6 second dodge viper is still a full body car, and isn't fully modified yet by Heffner's Performance, they have said its a work in progress yet it has beat the fastest Honda (6.711 @ 207.46), with a 6.641 @ 211.26) I can show you 100's of 6 second V8's. show me one 4 cyl 6 second 1/4.

@bergaflickal not much of a difference. I got my 1998 Supra TT right off the lot at $29,000 with 19 miles on it. It ended up being close to $31,000 with tax and tag's and such though. Supra's are one of those rare car's that have kept their original MSRP value over the year's. I got my 97 for $24,500 in 2006 and put another $65,000 into it and got it to run 8's. Yes it cost's them a lot of money to run 8's, but once you get them to that point they are INSANE! =)

Yes a Turbo WILL help but a Turbo takes exhaust to spin the turbine in the Turbo. off the line a Camaro SHOULD have a better start because you can't build boost off the line (assuming you don't have a 2 step which most people don't for street use). It ends up being Boost vs More Displacement. The fact is that even with less displacement the Supra has more hp per cylinder

I had an '02 Impala LS with the "legendary" 3.8L. That thing was the biggest piece of shit ever built, at 21K I had to get the intake manifold gasket replaced, at 35K I had to get it replaced again, 38K I needed two new wheel bearings, and a new ABS sensor, I traded it in for my Civic in '04 @ 48K when it needed a new trans. Never looked back.

@TheEdrooney I have not seen an LS1 for $3800 unless its in pretty beat up condition. I hate hondas but Fbods are garbage too. They can't handle for shit they are ugly and the LS1ers talk them up like they are the next coming of god. You guys are just as bad as the Mustang and Honda guys. Keep talking about HP per dollar. @TheEdrooney There are a few more differennces between the LS1 and 6. But besides that I have not seen any review where the WS6 got a .98G skidpad. And I will stand by my statement that Fbodies can't handle for shit. However you feel about it is the truth.
Now when I was saying LS1 for $3800, I meant LS1 Fbody. The cheapest I've seen a 98-02 fbody was for 5000 and that was a 200K mile car that was beat to hell.

@TheEdrooney I don't even know what type of motor is in MY Z06? After I personally installed a supercharger, blower cam, valve springs and longtube headers? The LS1 and LS6 have more differences than just the heads and cam. There is no oversimplifying that. The WS6 has not done a .98g skidpad on any review at all. Face it Fbodies handle like battle tanks. We had a guy in my autocross group with a heads cam camaro get owned by a bone stock S2000.

@QweenAIPVIP if they are both making the same power at the wheels 9 times out of 10 the auto will be much faster... with the gm tuning software available you can make your auto tranny act like a built auto tranny with just making a few changes. if you want a fast consistent v8 auto is the way to go. my buddy has a 06 gto with a 150 shot, slicks, headers and exhaust. full weight ran 11.68 @118.

true. a stock honda couldnt beat a stock ls1 camaro pushin 350. but we are talkin half the engine here. yea we may have too do a lil bit too keep up with a z28 or an ss, we are the underdogs here. thats how i see it.
i would rather spend less money knowing what im doing and be on the door of a V8 wondereing why hes not pulling me, than destroying him and sayin imports are better then demestics. in the end it comes down to what u prefer and like.

when u do rice races, your not really proving anything...I have a stratus turbo, This dude had a mustang king of the road. We raced. I was in front of him until we hit around 40mph bc I know my car better than he knows his car, so I know exactly when to shift and exactly when to floor it...but in the end I ended up about a quarter mile behind him
