The audio quality in this video is worse than a youtube poop. It's like someone pirated this video off of usenet in 1995 and kept it on their 2GB hard drive in their basement for 15 years.
Either that or they recorded the vhs version to another vhs and then put it through the dishwasher.
Also the SIIA (formerly SPA) is an extortion racket.
ARGGGGG, set your firewal to interactively filter connections and use common sense. Thatll protect you from the evil SPA and CIA from showing up at your company home. Also visit place called The Pirate Bay Organization and another place call Mini Nova Commercial Site
I can't believe the whole software industry couldn't come up with a few Adobe studio programmers or game designers to volunteer to make these videos not suck. This makes me think all of these videos, especially the "sequel" floppy one, are a really subtle parody, or a sophisticated false flag op to make the software industry look like huge tools...
do u guys believe it is ok to make money using pirated software?
personally, I think that if you want to use software like photoshop or audio/video editing software to create a product that you sell, you should pay for it. and if you use it for your own enjoyment, you don't really have to buy it if you can't afford it.
The law does not determine what is right and wrong! What is right and wrong determines law! We need to stop eating this bullshit just because some suits and ties lobby away our rights without representing the public.
Don't want to live in fear of the threats groups like SIIA are always making? Two words, open source, where you legally don't have to pay for the software! Do a quick google search and you'll get some great info, Open Source is the future.
Should software patents even be legal? I don't think so and the point is still in contention.
oh yea i have that playstation piracy video, i have that on an old underground disc. that videos over 10 years old! things have changed and i dont see any reason why the esa would put me or my school on its priority list considering the things i use are for private use. they would rather focus on the people selling the bootlegged games. plus its all just propaganada to scare us not, like all that bullshit that smoking weed can kill you or heavy metal music makes people suicidal :)
Private use, public use, use with no shirts, usage by bluecollars... the ESA and SIIA (formerly the SPA) doesn't give a rat's sex device what you think of it, THEY LAY DOWN THE FREAKIN' LAW.
how do you expect them to find me and why do you think they would go after me in peticular? its all a load of bullshit it is impossible to contain piracy. do you know how many people use torrents and get away with it? i think we have much MUCH bigger problems in the world than piracy.
Piracy hurts legitimate consumers, legitimate developers, publishers, and retailers. They point out that many people who don't feel bad about making or using illegal copies would feel terrible if they had to steal a game from the store; ironically, it's the same thing.
No, its actually a bit different. If someone goes to Fry's Electronics and steals a copy of Photoshop, that store no long has a copy to sell. If you go online and download a copy, then the original company hasn't really "lost" anything. If someone never plans to invest $1000 or w/e for a copy of Photoshop CS4, and downloads it just because they can, then Adobe hasn't lost a dime. You could debate that they lost a potential customer, but thats about it.
Gee, you corporate types sure know what's best! I never realized how great the HD content you sell was until I saw this! I swear, I'll never pirate ANYTHING ever!
Lord knows you guys need all the money you can get to keep pumping out great vids like this without selling one of your mansions!
Did you guys watch the video capture before uploading? The actual video starts at 13 seconds, the volume was too high, AND it gets progressively out of sync. The frame rate could have been better, too.
But hey, you stopped me from copying *this* video...
I could probably find them some open source editing software and make a good copy of this video. Of course I don't want to take the chance they'll sue for me fixing their stuff.
i don't mind nonprofit copyright infringement until it gets ridiculous, but when it comes to companies copying software that they can actually afford in licensed volumes
Especially not that easy now that you have CALs, Terminal Service Cals, hosted web apps with licenses
This is why my shop is switching over to open source more and more. licenses will kill paid software, don't "evangelize" free software, I tell them we need to order 40 more cals, 40 licenses of XP Pro, antivirus, office, csr app, etc... and my boss says "Well can we do this with that Linux thing?"
Maybe more people would watch this if the audio wasn't clipping for the entire video. What the heck does your organization do? I never hear about them, and I really don't think anyone cares about some long forgotten advocacy group.
this is laughable. software compliance is not 'just that easy', there's commercial auditing software these days, not all licence agreements are anywhere near the same, different schemes. it's red-tape hell. no wonder the business world is moving to open source. it's gotten progessively worse since the production of this laggy, bad audio dub pro-copyright-lock-everything-down agenda film.

I was only able to suffer the first 1:30, but here's what I learned about copying software:
1) it makes middle management sweat - hard
2) it keeps kids occupied, teaches them to use their computers, and allows them to create new, original social interactions with peers
3) it betters prepares this guy to babysit for the weekend
4) it disentangles these people from attachment to earthly objects
5) it increases office productivity
6) it creates a new species of private sector secret police
