This is fantastic, perfect just perfect with this song, Bixby was the master of expression conveyed everything by a mere look, now that's rare magic. A true magician, never be another.
@Kenanee Thank you for your kind words, both for the video and for Bill Bixby. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video and agree with your well worded words about our magician hero. Sam
Hi again, Sam. Thanks very much for letting me know about this video, too. Another terrific job! Again, the song fits the content of the clips incredibly well! You are extremely talented and I really appreciate you sharing so much of what appears to be a great show, however short-lived it was.
Let's hope the DVD petition makes a difference. Meantime, I'm anxious to watch the episodes you posted. I will view them and comment as soon as I can. Thanks again. ~ Julie
You're welcome Julie. Thank you for your generous comments. I think you will also enjoy my friend Lordismyportion's "Illusion & dream" music video. It focuses more on the magic aspect of the series and is very well made. Thanks for having added your signature to the petition, they are needed! Sam
Sam this video is PERFECT. It is awesome. I have watched it four times and it gets better each time. I know how much work goes into making these videos--not just the technical part of editing, but the creative aspect of it. You nailed it. I love this! The only thing that would make it any better (and this is just me being picky because I expect I'll be watching this frequently) is if the white border were not present, and it looked more like a movie screen. That's just me being greedy.
It hits me on several levels I met with Bill Bixby and Talked w/ Larry Anderson from the show several times. The show is probably the main reasom I became a magician . Also the music you used was the music ( In the Air tonight By Phil Collins) We used for seeing through a woman when I worked on the Copperfield show and I must have done the illusion 300 times I still see every nuance in my mind when i hear this music.
Mike, thank you so much for your wonderful comment, very much appreciated. I'm so touched that this video is appreciated by the magic community and is receiving such an incredible response. Kind regards, Sam
I was 12 when this was on our tv so that's 36 years ago. I have never seen it since but also never forgot about it. I have rated this video 5 stars .I love, love, love it! Thank you!
Thanks, it was a great series for us fellow magicians, as Bill really learned all the Magic routines from Mark Wilson.
Somewhere, there are also 3 TV Magic specials, from the "70's that Bill was the Host on. They ran on Thanksgiving night. These would be great in a DVD collection of Bill "The Magician" Bixby.
I'm afraid I don't remember Kristina Holland. Although, I did recognize Elizabeth Ashley. In that outfit, @ 1:50-2:00, she looked just like Cote de Pablo from NCIS! I also recognized "Tony Blake's" partner, in the montage, as the same actor who played "Mark," Raymond Burr's bodyguard, on IRONSIDE. And, speaking of recognition? I rate this "thumb's up! Thank you for sharing this with us. :-)
Hi Cary, you got me intrigued about Jim Watkins being in Ironside. I researched it. Might it be that you're thinking of Don Mitchell playing Mark Sanger? :-) IMDb does not list Ironside for Watkins.
Fantastic vid Sam!! 5 stars! You did it again :) Yep, Miami Vice before Miami Vice. lol. Was that Brenda Bennett his former wife? She followed him on the Hulk once.
Yes that's her. When she did the Hulk they were divorced or just about. Bill always asked back his former guest stars. I'm watching a Goodnight Beantown and there's Christine Belford who also was in the Hulk. Most TM guest stars ended up in TIH. Thanks for the 5**** much appreciated, Cal!
Thank you for this great video. Any wait was worth it. I also signed the petition for the release of a dvd. I guess Paramount forgot how much money they made on Star Trek's dvd.
Thank you for this video. I also signed the Paramount petition. I guess they forgot how much they made on the Star Trek series when It was put out on a dvd edition.
My one regret about this ending up on reruns post-70s (and people selling the DVDs of episodes taped off the Sci-Fi channel from the early 90s) is that some of the best music from the series is edited for time.
From the audio tapes I have from '76, there are lots of cut/transition scenes where he's driving his Corvette and they play really terrific variations of the main theme music.
Unfortunately, sci-fi network reruns had to cut scenes those scenes for time.
I agree. I have this show in 2 formats. The VHS has some episodes not from SciFi & a few more scenes. I even found 1 in Spanish (!) here with an edited out scene & downloaded it right away: the next day his account had been suspended. If you type Spanish in my profile you should find it. Thanks for your comments. Sam
Haven't seen this episode since summer of '76 when ABC re-ran the series after midnight on a double-bill following Mannix reruns. Didn't have a VCR back then, so I audio-taped it and this episode in particular had beautiful incidental music in the background, such as a scene where he's trying to use a puppet to get info from a child. Beatiful music too in the scene where she says to him (knowing what's going to happen) "what if it all ended?"
What a beautiful video, the closeups of Bill and all the fade ins and over laps are awesome. Great song choice, and it almost mirrors that traumatic/volatile relationship he had with Brenda and the clips you chose of her are particularly poignant. You also have some great timing! and i love the Sepia tone effect to show 'flashbacks.'
Thank you very much, my friend for your kind words! I'm pleased to find so many beautiful comments from everyone. Glad it this music video has been enjoyed by so many already, had planned it almost 2 yrs ago.

This was one of my favorite shows. I became an apprentice magician after taking a class at the magic castle in Hollywood.

Nice job. If someone hadn't seen the original episode and known the woman's death was faked, this could be a very sad video.
