  • free in depth, beginners guide to music theory! We have, "Learn How to Read Music," tutorials, as well! We have free video lessons! This site originally was being developed to help people considering becoming music majors prepare for music theory classes, but we decided to help people who were just starting to read music, as well. Our lessons are in a specific order, developed in a way that teaches you what you should know, in the best order to learn it in. Again, all of this for FREE!

  • This was perfect

  • This is what im looking for..to understand how to play the beats from the notes..tq so much!!!

  • 1:25 - the e of 2 on mesure 26 dragged

  • What key are you playing?...Sorry I dont know how to read music thats y I am on youtube for HELP!!

  • awsome thanks i needed that rythhm

  • Adictum thanks for the very very sensible insight in understanding rhythm. What people take years to grasp you have condensed in an effortless video. Thanks a million for your effort.

  • Aha! My daughter needs to learn this for class..Please do more!

  • can,t anybody explain things properly? every tutorial for reading music launches straight into jargon, useless to someone who knows nothing people seem to assume that everyone has some prior knowledge, elitist bullshit if you ask me

  • my finger hurt :(

  • tnx

  • Middle C that didnt help.

  • is there any software like this video is using? where you can write music on then automatically play it?

  • it's just a c played a million times in rhythm i already understand.

  • this vid is more of a helper for music timing

  • This is good. Thank you.

  • This is very helpful. I am a part of a group called themusicmeetingplace. It is yahoo group design to help people in the music industry to come together and network and succeed.

  • Thank you:)

  • This is great! Thank you!

  • useful

  • For some easy tunes in bass clef see my video!

  • that was so simple but very amazing technique...this was so helpful...=)

  • simple and easy, yet EXTREMLY HELPFUL! u can sheet music really fast like this.

  • Very Helpful!

  • Thanks for the video. Rgds Bosco

  • heyyy guys u know the celf evryone tlk about the manin two wt about the others o heard there ar 7 celf ......

  • Great video. Very instructional. How about adding quarter note and eighth note triplets and dotted notes as well?

  • alguem aprendeu algo?

  • no nada

  • how can u distinguished the denominator of the key singnature? for example, if 4/4 the numerator tells the beat per bar/measure..how about the denominator of the key signature? thnx..

  • the denominater tells what note holds the beat as in 4/4 the quarter note gets the beat, in 6/8 there is 6 beats per measuer, but eith notes get the beat, so quarter notes would be like half notes in that case.

  • this has helped me so much in teaching the music to the hearing impaired...this is the most helpful! thanks ;)

  • Thanks for posting this. Now I know how to type the rythm, Now I know when to type slow and and then fast after echother!

    THANKS

  • Wow! When I need help to read music. The site just happens to be under a maintence service and is offline. What else could go wrong with my day. *_*

  • thank you!! this is really fun.

  • good stuff, waiting for my girlfriend to get dressed, good practice doing this in the meantime!

  • It was easy all durations were on once note.

  • good. yeah kind of complicated. i need a good video of reading music sheet tutorial and how to apply it on piano!=]

  • Um still dont help me sorry

  • This video helped me understand sheet music better than all the stuff I read online. Thanks!

  • i get it now!

  • WHY is it so complicated GODD

  • nothing is easy in life everything takes dedication

  • I just started looking at this stuff... all complicated somewhat... full, half and quarter notes are easy though.... just watch the video...

The whole note (Hollow circle) is a 4 beat note. You count 1-2-3-4 and you have just 1 note from 1, that's a whole note.

Half note, you count 1-2-3-4 as well. You have 2 notes. first note on 1, and second on 3 count.

Quarter is a note every count. 1-2-3-4. A note every beat. Hope this was not confusing but it's the way i interpret all this.

  • This video won't help you read music.. but it will help you count rythym.

  • @xToatsies counting rhythm is part of reading music.

  • @xToatsies and that's not part of reading music...?

  • I actually pressed every note to figure out which note it was and finally found the middle C :|

  • basic and most effective. thankyou.

  • this is great for learning how to count.

If you want to learn to read the notes there's a channel called pianofortemaestro. I think that one is best for learning notes even though the guy is just learning how to make videos.

  • thanks

  • haha i dont know wat note it is either XD

  • C note

  • same here lol x

  • that sorta helped! but still i dunno how to no what note it is

  • You know just a little subtittle could work fine, but for less than 2 minutes it's of the best o've seen around!!

  • That's gret! Thanks!

  • *great

  • Wow. Despite the simplicity of that vid, i just learned note measures in under 2 Minutes!!! Thanks alot. U should do more vids!
