Hi i was just wondering when i do this all of the clones but the first one all apper to be a little see through, is this ment to happen and if not how do i fix it. Thanks
Trouble was, I wanted to take all these cool shots, and I had all these great ideas... but I didn't know how to get started... and I didn't think I had all the specialist equipment I'd need.
haha great vid. easy instructions for those who wanna learn. But man, you need some cardio work out! panting after a few back and forth plus a jump haha ><!

I really appreciate all of your tutorials! I'm an aspiring photographer but it's hard learning these tricks. It's like a magician who never tells. But you're being so helpful!

Having some issue with the black brush.(erasing the image) I think I have a black brush and when I erase the image it turns white? Also, what are the specs on brush info..hardness etc. Thx!
Big picture question from a newbie...for the first image, how is it that you are able to erase yourself with the brush so cleanly and not erase the rest of the picture (i.e. the bench and tree behind you)?
@cmgoskate In the tools palette, hold and click the brush icon for several seconds until a drop down box appears, then select the Brush Tool and start over.
@sosvocaloid Oh, yes sir. Just look at what the shutter speed and aperture is when the camera is in automatic mode then manually punch in those same settings after switching over to manual mode.
@willyboydd3311 CS5. Try to update if you can. Anything below CS3 is pretty much outdated. If there is no script there, then you will have to load each image into a single PS document as layers by coping and pasting.
@chispee Just use F4-F11, I wasn't dramatically moving myself throughout the frame, so the focus point wasn't very important. I just focused on the bench then turned off autofocus.
OK having a little trouble here ... I have loaded all the photos and clicked on the Layer/vector mask but when I chose a black brush it colours the person black and does not erase. I am using CS3. What have I done wrong ?
@Lensmeister Make sure to click the "make layer mask" button only once, if you click it twice it will make a vector mask. After you have made the normal layer mask, click on the empty white space to the right of the layer thumbnail and then try again
@dealwitheunice07 Ahh that;'s just "Photoshop 7.0", not "Photoshop CS7". Anyways, that is a very very old version of Photoshop (the newer ones have "CS" in the title). I'd update to CS3 or higher, CS5 is the newest version as of right now (6/4/2011) and is the best one available.
so pls tell me how to focus the camera(auto or manual), where to put the camera and how to get all 3 or 4 of me in diff parts of the frame in perfect focus. i want the final edited image to look as natural as possible.
@liahglask Use manual focus. Focus on the ground where you will be standing in the first location, then take the shots, leaving the focus alone. Use F11 if you want to make sure everything is really sharp, but only use F11 if you are outside and/or have lots of light to work with.
i tried for it but some problems hpnd. pls help me.
my setup is as follows:
nikon d40 with 18-55mm lens in autofocus mode on a tripod and a remote. im shooting inside my room.
first i put the camera on af and focussed on the area where i will be standing first and then turned AF off. i took 3 shots with me at 3 places and all 3 came out of focus.
then i put the camera back on AF mode and took 3 shots with me at 3 parts of the frame.all came out gud but there's some prblm
@LUKE8822 I might have used autofocus for this, but it is best to focus and then turn Auto-Focus off when taking all the pictures to ensure the focusing does not change
@geeway4me Just drag and drop the photos ontop of each other so they become separate layers inside the photoshop document, or simply copy and paste them into the same photoshop document.
I can't seem to make this work, i get as far as inverting the photo but then i can see the first image along with the second, when I select the layer mask my photoshop wont allow me to use the brush tool on it, does anyone have a clue what I'm doing wrong ?
@ClariceMcClellan Make sure you click on the layer mask because you use the brush to make sure that the layer mask is selected, and make sure that you are using the opposite color of the layer mask on your brush (black/white). Also make sure that nothing else is selected in the frame (to do this, grab the rectangular marquee tool and simply click inside the picture once)
When i start coloring over it, the original one only fades slightly. so i have to repeatedly paint over instead of just once like in the video. im using the trial of CS5, i follow all the steps. why isnt it working efficiantly?
Wooo! First view!. Nice video by the way, Vlue. I do have a question though; what version of Windows are you using? It looks like Windows ME or 2000, but I didn't think Photoshop ran that well in those. Anyways, great job.
