Im not even a pilot but from the point the engines are spooled at like :12 up to the point where he begins rotation is only like 20 seconds. Dammmn thats a fast takeoff. And then his climb rate ! ,absol spectacular.
God, I love the spool up on the engines just before takeoff - nice launch. I like the pitch up that the pilot does on his climbout just after takeoff.
a learjet cost anywhere between 6-7 million dollars depending on the model and what you have added on to it..just to charter a flight on a learjet would cost roughly 8-10 thousand dollars for two hours...fuel is about 4-5 thousand dollars per hour to fly, the plane will do 500 MPH easily...i fly on one of these every weekend
wow! you fly on one of these every weekend?! I love the way you express how much it cost to purchase and operate one of these things. then follow up with how you fly on one of these every weekend. kinda doooshy buddy...
Not sure about your sources for numbers here, but while it takes a lot of cabbage to own and operate a Lear, it's not quite that bad.
A good Lear31A can be had for less than three million. Fuel?? Burning 1600 lbs. of fuel the first hour, and +/- 1200 lbs. the second hour, the fuel burn would be +/-412 gallons for two hours of flight, including TTL. At $5.50 USD per gallon, that breaks down to +/- $1135 USD per hour.
my source for numbers comes from the person who owns the learjet...so not saying hes right or wrong just saying thats where i got the numbers...its a 10 passenger..i love flying but it makes this annoying sound that u eventually get use to i guess
10seats?? Sounds like you've been gracing the skies in a GulfStream GIII or a GIV. Those birds do burn +/-500GPH, and the DOC's on those birds are astronomical.
Guess I'm underprivileged. My experience is derived through chartering the Lear 35A. (and other jets and turboprops, as well.) As a client, I foot the bill, which at times, involves repositioning fees as well as the time I spend aboard the a/c.
It still isn't cheap, but it sure beats the airlines!!
mrthinks you may be confusing "fuel costs" with "Direct Operating Costs". If you are flying aboard a 10 passenger jet, then it isn't a LearJet. When you consider the fuel bill, as well as Rolls Royce EMP costs, and other DOC's, then you are looking at +/- $4500. per hour.
@youragoodbloke- i rekon i dont give a flying fuck what you think, did i ever say i own the jet? NOO so shut the fuck up, all i said was i fly in it, i work for a race team

This is a Lear 60. The 60 has a distinctive winglet on it (see 0:32). It has sort of a bump on the lower side of the trailing edge.
