I've removed a broken key from my truck a couple of times and was able to do in in seconds. You take one of those really thin blades.. like a scroll saw blade, and cut it in half, slide it into the key hole, with the cutting side facing outward. Just push down slightly against the key and pull, the blade will hold to the key and it will slide right out.
So he's saying that if you can't get it out with a magnet, you'll need a new ignition? What a joke. Call a locksmith instead of a mechanic like this that's trying to convince you to get a brand new ignition! ...boy, next we're going to see locksmiths trying to teach people how to change your oil.
@popalocksf ya lol.. i am almost done with my locksmith certificate.. and decided to fix my trunk lock problem.. which i couldnt use my key.. the mechanic at ford dealership said you cant fix it.. or take it apart.. etc.. and i should buy a new one and have a locksmith ( such as myself who knows how waffer locks works) to rekey it ... the hell with paying for a new one.. so i took it out.. ( couldnt figure how to take the plug out.) but i picked it, and oiled it.. now it works like a new one.
Did you really get all offended off of my comment? I was not rude to you in any way shape or form and I am surprised that anyone would be so rude over a comment about broken keys.
You are incorrect. There are some ferrous keys around. Not a lot, but there are some. If you can't remove the key in an hour, it is more often than not more cost effective to just replace the cylinder or door lock.
The very end of my car key got stuck in the ignition and i can get it out. On forums and stuff its said to use boby pins, Thin hacksaw blades, paperclips, thin drillbits ect but nothing has worked. But when i put the other half of the key in and turn the ignition the car starts fine so Ive been driving my car for like 1 month with half a key. What should i do.The locksmith said to fix it, it will cost $110.
This video sucks. You explained nothing. How about using spiral extractors and the services of a Professional Locksmith? Did you ever think of removing the facecap to make it easier for those abortion picks of yours? Where does this E"expert Village" find these guys!?

Useless video, full of lies.
Magnetic keys, throw away if you can't remove in 2 hours etc etc... Bullshit!
Let me know which shop you work at, so I know to never go there!
